Eliza wanted to sacrifice herself for her family. I was unsure if this was some trick, but she seemed emotional and upset. I wasn’t sure if she saw the wrong in her actions, but it seemed like a good start. “No, you will not do anything such thing.” Her father screamed furiously, rattling the chains bound him to the metal barrier. I realised that it was the wolfsbane preventing them from being able to shift into their wolves. Victoria’s POV In a minute, the whole fire was put out, and I took a deep breath. Looking over my shoulder, I saw Zane gazing ahead at the pack house with his grandfather beside him. They were deep in conversation, and I knew it was them that had used a powerful spell to put the fire out. Alex came rushing out all red-faced. “Thank you. Victoria’s POV Zane gently put me down and shook his head. “I don’t understand why the portal isn’t opening. What’s going on?” He sighed helplessly and confused. I licked my lips and pushed my hair from my eyes, looking around and feeling glad we had lost those creeps. I would happily have kicked their asses into next week. Victoria’s POV Alex! I woke with a start and looked around me to find I was back at Zane’s. I could not be here. What I needed was to be with my mate. Alex. He needed me, and yet here I was. “Zane!” I yelled, throwing the covers off me and shouting for him. I was so mad that he had got me back here. I wanted to go back to the pack house. Nobody was around, and that made me even more annoyed. Where the hell was he, and where was everyone else? Suddenly I was pulled into a room and found myself face-to-face with Zane. He pushed me against the wall, and in a second, I felt his lips brush against mine. What was he doing? Zane! I pushed him away and screamed at him to leave me alone. What did he think he was doing? He knew full well that I had a mate already, and that was not going to be taken lightly. He was crazy. I did not feel anything for him in that way, and we were only friends, nothing more.

Victoria’s POV Something inside me suddenly snapped, and I do not know what it was, but it was as if I had finally woken up. “Victoria, No!” He yelled. “Get lost; you are crazy,” I growled, finding this newfound strength and confidence to shove him away from me. Zane wobbled backwards, and I took that split second to turn and run. “Wait!” He shrilled angrily as he scrambled to get back up from the ground. I was not going to wait around for him. No chance! Alex’s pov Even though I feel pretty weak right now, I won't give up. I know that I need to find Victoria and keep her safe. I asked Zane to take her to safety, but now that I can smell her scent, I'm unsure why she's back. Maybe she didn't want to leave me alone. Perhaps she wants to help me fight.
