A day before the incident happened.
On a luxurious sailboat, a 28-year-old man in a black long-sleeved shirt stood gallantly, gazing straight ahead after just finishing a call with his girlfriend.
"What's up?" asked a man around the same age, patting his shoulder.
"Nothing, just finished talking to Eca," he replied with a smile on his lips.
"Already missing her after a short while, but I understand. It's your first voyage for work, so you two aren't used to being apart."
"Yeah, she asked me to come back quickly."
"Don't worry; we'll definitely go back. You're getting married in a month, so we'll surely return before the wedding day," said Devan's cousin.
Devan just smiled in response to his cousin's banter. "We'll soon make a stop at Telu Island; it's known for its delicious cuisine. I plan to take you to taste the food there soon. Are you in?"
"Of course, you're more experienced than me. I have a lot to learn from you about managing the ship business," Devan said.
Robi smiled with a small nod. "Let's go back to the room; the boat will stop soon," Robi suggested.
Devan followed in the footsteps of his cousin, who was two years older. Both were continuing their family's large business - the cruise ship business.
The boat had stopped in Telu City, a city known for its luxury and freedom on the island. Devan walked while pulling his suitcase, followed by Robi chasing him from behind.
"I've already booked a hotel room for you," said Robi once they reached Devan's side.
"No need for that much; I can still book it myself," Devan replied.
"No problem, consider it a welcome for you since you're new at work."
"Thank you very much."
Robi led Devan to the hotel room he had reserved, providing the best service for the two owners of the luxury ship that had just descended.
"I'll wait in the lobby at 9 PM; we need to take a short tour before we set sail again," Robi said.
"Yeah, I need to shower and change my clothes first," Devan replied.
As promised, Devan and Robi went out of the hotel for a stroll.
"We should go into that bar; it's very enjoyable there," said Robi to Devan.
"To the bar? Ah, I don't want to go; you go ahead. I'll explore somewhere else."
"Come on, are you afraid Eca will find out? Come on, she won't know you went to the bar. Let's have some fun for a bit."
Devan reluctantly went along with Robi.
"Hey, Boss, just arrived?" greeted a muscular man with tattoos all over his body at the entrance.
"Yeah, brought this new customer, still green, has a lot to learn inside this bar," Robi said while introducing Devan to the man.
Devan just gave a faint smile. The doorman gestured for them to enter.
"Do you come here often? I see everyone here seems very familiar with you," asked Devan after sitting on the VIP lounge sofa.
Devan observed everyone warmly greeting Robi.
"Not really, I come here when I'm bored, like after a breakup. I need to have some fun here," Robi replied with a chuckle.
"Just a moment, I want to order something special first," Robi said.
"What is it? Don't order a woman; I don't want to betray Eca," Devan replied.
"Don't worry, I won't teach you anything bad."
Robi walked towards the drink order table; he seemed to call someone and whispered something, and the man gave a thumbs up.
On the special sofa, Devan enjoyed the bar's atmosphere.
"It seems I should call Eca and let her know where I am. I don't want her to suspect me and misunderstand," Devan said, taking out his phone and video calling his girlfriend.
"Love, where are you? Are you in the bar?" Eca asked with an elevated tone upon seeing Devan in the dimly lit room with deafening music.
"Don't misunderstand, I was invited by Robi. I didn't want to come here, that's why I called you. Don't worry; I won't be tempted by any other woman except you," Devan replied with a sweet smile to his phone.
Eca behind the video call smiled happily, "Be careful, if anything happens, I'll cancel our engagement!" she threatened.
"Don't, I promise I won't do anything. I really love you."
"Alright, don't turn off the call; I need to make sure you don't do anything with other girls until you leave there."
"Okay, dear."
Robi came back with a cigarette in his mouth.
"Where's the special order? You said you wanted to order something special," Devan asked Robi.
"It's being prepared," Robi replied casually.
"What's the special order? Don't do anything weird, Robi," Eca's voice was heard through the phone, making Robi startled.
"You're on the phone with Eca?" Robi asked anxiously.
"Yes."
"This guy is really damn loyal! Pretending to be faithful!" Robi cursed in his heart.
"What's the special order, Robi?" Eca asked again to make sure.
"Just a special Wine, a wine that's only available in this bar. Don't worry; I'll make sure Devan doesn't do anything weird. If he does, I'll pinch his kidney," Robi replied while laughing.
"Is it really just wine, Robi? Be careful if there's anything else; I'll report it to your grandmothers," threatened Eca.
"No, relax, your future husband's girl is so fierce, Devan," Robi said with a laugh.
"That's how it is. Eca won't hang up until you both leave there," Eca said, making Robi slightly uneasy, but he tried to look as calm as usual.
A bottle of wine, Robi's order, arrived. Fortunately, Robi had indeed ordered wine, so he didn't need to explain much to Devan and Eca.
"Please enjoy," said the sexy woman serving the wine.
"Thank you," Robi replied, and the female server left.
"All the girls here are sexy; come on, leave already, or Eca will really report it to your grandmothers," Eca threatened with annoyance.
"Your boyfriend isn't cool, Dev," Robi said, pouring wine into Devan's glass.
"Let it be; Kak Robi, don't try to teach anything weird to Mas Devan," Eca said.
"Don't worry; it's just drinking this. You know this, right? It's not weird; it won't make you drunk," Robi replied, showing the wine bottle in his hand.
"Yeah, Eca knows."
"Alright, stop nagging. Your future husband wants to drink first; tired of taking care of the ship," Robi said, giving Devan a glass of wine.
Devan sipped while chatting with Eca on his phone, while Robi chose to sit with his other friends.
It's been almost an hour, and Devan is still at the bar, talking to Eca on the phone.Several attractive women come to flirt with Devan, but they are immediately chased away by Robi."Don't bother him; his girlfriend is prettier than all of you combined. He just wants to relax here," Robi says to them, making the women leave in annoyance.Devan laughs at how Robi dismisses the mischievous women. Devan has finished three glasses of wine, and he starts to yawn."Love, I think I should head home now; I'm getting sleepy," Devan says to Eca."Yeah, go ahead, take Robi with you," Eca replies."No need, I'll go alone; you keep me company on the phone. Robi seems to be discussing something serious.""Alright then, be careful on the way, my love.""Sure thing, and don't hang up, I still want your company," Devan requests, smiling sweetly at Eca."Okay, my love."Devan approaches Robi, who is deep in conversation with his friends, and asks for permission to leave earlier."Rob, I'm heading home
The day has turned dark, and Devan still hasn't met Lisa, resigning himself to going home that night. Before leaving, Devan leaves his phone number on a paper on the table, still hoping to be contacted by Lisa. After all, he hasn't given her any money yet.Devan is already on the ship, choosing to stand on the top deck. His eyes keep staring towards the hotel, as if something is left there, but he doesn't know what.On the dock, Moni and Lisa are enjoying the cool night breeze, gazing at the luxurious ship in front of them. Lisa has to take a break from work because she still feels pain in her groin."Mon, you know, besides working at the hotel, I really want to work on that ship. How does it feel to enter such a luxurious ship?" Lisa asks while sipping her coffee."I don't know. I never imagined going there. The passengers inside are not middle class like us, but elite class. Look, there's no one dressed as simple as us; they're all in luxurious attire," Moni replies."Looks like you
Safely on the bed, Lisa starts crying again, covering her face with both palms. Moni tries to comfort her."What should I do, Mon?" Lisa asks Moni."You calm down first. We need to think about this carefully with a clear head. You need to stay calm and think about the baby's health. After all, the baby is innocent and deserves to live peacefully," Moni replies.Lisa looks at Moni."Are you saying I should keep this baby?" Lisa asks."Of course! Never think about aborting it, Lisa! The baby deserves to live happily!" Moni firmly answers."But this child doesn't have a father, Mon. Who will support its life? If I work, who will take care of it?" Lisa asks anxiously."Lisa, every child comes into this world with its own destiny. Never think that giving birth to a child will make you poor.""But I'm not ready, Mon.""I'm here. I'll always be by your side whenever you need me. I promise I'll treat this child like my own niece or nephew. So, please, defend it. Never intend to terminate it.
"Enough, Dad! Don't blame Moni! She doesn't know anything; it's purely an accident. Lisa was forced to serve a man she didn't even know, so Dad, never blame Moni, let alone speak ill of her. She's not as bad as you think! In fact, she's better than you!" Lisa said, releasing her father's grip on her arm."What did you say? She's better than your own father? You dare to say that? You've become so audacious, talking back to your father like this!" Lisa's father responds."Lisa isn't audacious; Lisa is just imitating what Dad has been doing to Lisa! All this time, Dad has always listened to the words of his unstable wife and never cared about Lisa! Am I wrong for defending someone I consider family?" Lisa replies, almost shouting at her father.Slap!A hard slap lands on Lisa's smooth cheek, making her stagger to the side. Luckily, Moni quickly catches Lisa's body; otherwise, Lisa would have hit the wall beside her.Lisa lifts her face and looks at her father, smiling."This isn't the fi
Lisa has returned to work at the hotel, even though she feels very unwell. Nausea continues to bother her, but she needs to go to work to gather the information she needs. She quickly heads to the hotel room that Devan once stayed in, holding the key to the room. Lisa hopes to find something that can give her clues on how to meet Devan.Lisa scans the entire room, opening every cabinet and drawer that might have been used by the guest, but she finds nothing."After that man stayed here, no one else has occupied this room. Maybe there's nothing I can find here. I should search for information in the guest registry," Lisa murmurs to herself. She decides to leave the luxurious room.Due to the high price of the room, it is rarely booked by hotel guests. Only certain individuals are willing to pay such a high price for a single night. To avoid suspicion, Lisa chooses to be alone in the restroom, pacing inside and contemplating how she can obtain private guest data. While Lisa is pacing in
Lisa goes straight to Moni's house after work; she doesn't have any other place to stay temporarily except at Moni's house."I apologize for bothering you all the time," Lisa says to Moni."Don't worry about it. Pregnant women shouldn't worry too much; it's not good for the baby," Moni replies, placing a plate of french fries in front of Lisa."I've got Devan's address. He lives in the city of Zimbal," Lisa says."Zimbal? That's quite far," Moni complains."Yeah, what should I do? Should I go look for him there?""It's up to you. If you're sure you need to meet him, then go. If not, don't. It's quite far, and I'm worried about your pregnancy."Lisa falls into silence for a while. Moni chooses not to disturb her, allowing Lisa to come to her own conclusion."I still need to meet that man. He has to take responsibility for what he did," Lisa says after remaining silent for a while."I'll support whatever decision you make. If you decide to go, you shouldn't go alone. I'll accompany you.
Lisa and Moni approach the pre-wedding photo Lisa pointed out."Is this the guy, Lisa?" Moni asks, pointing to the man in the photo next to the beautiful woman.Lisa nods slowly."He's not just any guy, Lisa," Moni says with a trembling voice.Initially excited to find out who the man was, especially after what he did to her friend without paying a dime, Moni becomes hesitant after seeing the photo of the man and his house."Is he a captain?" Lisa asks when she sees a pre-wedding photo of Devan on a luxurious sailing ship, complete with a captain's uniform."More precisely, he's the owner of a luxury sailing ship, like the one we saw that night," Moni replies."The security guard also said he's a businessman of luxury sailing ships.""So, what are you going to do? Today is his wedding day. Are you going to say everything in front of his guests?" Moni asks."No, Moni, I don't dare to do that. I'll just ask him to take responsibility for supporting me and this child until I give birth."
Lisa and Moni thought that as soon as they entered the room, they would face a man who would stand like a lion and scold them thoroughly for entering someone else's room without permission. But what they see now is just an empty room, without anyone inside."Did we enter the wrong room, Lisa?" Moni asks, puzzled."I don't know, but it doesn't seem like it. Look above the bed, there are wedding flowers," Lisa replied, pointing towards the king-size bed."Where's the owner? Did he go out or is he in the bathroom?""I'll check the bathroom; you guard the door," Lisa requested."Okay."Lisa sneaked towards the bathroom, opened and closed it."Nobody," Lisa whispered."But this is really Devan's room. Look, there's his photo, and these are all men's clothes," Moni said, opening one of the wardrobes."True, so what do we do?""Let's hide here and wait for him to enter. Once he's inside the room, we can come out of hiding and meet him," Moni replied."Alright.""Come here," Moni invited Lisa
