Tami's POV

Mihir's arrival added another layer to the evening, his presence was both welcomed and tinged with discomfort at the same time.

Mom and Chachi had prepared a lavish feast, a symphony of North Indian and Gujarati delicacies, as a testament to familial love and hospitality for him a warm gesture to show that he was a part of this family as well.

He loved it, yet I could see that beneath the surface, his emotions simmered, memories of his lost love and the obligation to my family were also to be fulfilled. His eyes were searching for someone who was obviously not here and it caused pain to him and me as well.

Mom and Chachi were serving food on his plate continuously and Mihir savored each dish with the gusto of a true foodie, but still at the same time his heart weighed heavy with unresolved emotions.
