That night, we closed up almost at four in the morning, as the sky began to slowly brighten with the peeking sun between the mountains.

We had stopped at a 24-hour supermarket before heading home at Jack's request. He spent quite some time buying things that I didn't even get to know what they were, as I stayed outside in the middle of the street, waiting for him.

Minutes later, when he came out of the store, he was carrying a bag full of items, and I couldn't help but gasp at such a splurge of money on his part.

Despite the argument hours ago, Jack had returned to his usual self. In contrast, I couldn't shake off his words from my mind, making it increasingly difficult for me to keep up with the conversation.

Even my behavior seemed too mechanical, as if I were some kind of programmed robot.

"What do you say we watch the sunrise?"

"Sure," I shrugged.

After all, I wasn't feeling the slightest hint of sleep or tiredness, having practically been in bed all day before.
