Nicklaus's POV
I stood in front of the mirror, getting dressed, when the Beta walked in. "Greetings, Alpha Nicklaus."
"You don't need to be that formal, Martins. So, tell me, are they here?" I asked with a smile.
"Yes, Alpha. The top members are waiting in the meeting room."
"I see." I adjusted my tie, then I noticed the expression on his face. "Is there something I need to know before attending the meeting?"
"Some of the elders are not pleased with your engagement to the first daughter of the Silver Moon Pack."
"I knew it. They should be happy my mate is an Alpha as well. She is strong, a warrior, and most importantly, both tribes will be at peace. Let's go." I ordered, making my move, and he walked behind me.
As soon as they noticed my presence, they all remained calm and showed respect.
I took my seat and when they moved to sit, I stopped them. "Did I give the go-ahead for you to sit?" I questioned.
"We are sorry, Alpha Nicklaus."
"Just joking. Wanted to liven up the room. Please, have a seat." I could smell their fear. I don't really understand why they fear me so much, but it's all good.
"So, before we commence with today's meeting, is there anything you wish to say to me?" I questioned.
"Not at all, Alpha." None of them seemed to connect the issue with me. I guess there's no need to dwell on it.
"Are you sure? I am your Alpha. You can tell me about any problems you are having, and I will do my best to solve them." I urged them one last time, but they still said nothing, so we proceeded with the meeting.
One of the wolf guards walked in and whispered in the Beta's ear before leaving.
The Beta came close to me and also whispered, "A lady is here to see you, Alpha."
"A lady? Go and find out who she is and get back to me."
"I will be right back." He took his leave, and I kept wondering how a lady could muster the courage to come here and see me without an invitation from me.
I continued with the meeting, discussing recent happenings, and providing solutions. They all celebrated with me, then Martins returned.
"I will be back, everyone. Carry on without me. The maids will soon be serving us drinks for a job well done," I said, and they felt happy.
I walked to the lobby with Martins. "Who is she?"
"She claims to be your mate, Alpha. She also said you are expecting her. Should I let her in?"
"Hold on, she said what?" I rarely get angry, but the fact that someone is claiming to be my mate is unacceptable, and I won't tolerate it.
"She said she is your mate, and you made a mistake by engaging her sister, Alpha Tracy."
"What's her name? Is she Tracy's younger sister?" I inquired.
"Her name is Miss Gabrielle, and she is the younger sister of Alpha Tracy."
"Martins, I want you to escort her out of this building and warn her sternly. I never want to see her here again. Understand?"
"Yes, Alpha. I will do that right away." He said, taking his leave to inform her.
I still can't believe the Alpha's youngest daughter has no shame at all. Rumors have it that she's flirtatious and sleeps with different men. It's impossible for her to be a virgin. My mate is a virgin.
I thought about that night again, just to be sure.
I finished getting dressed for my birthday party. The party planner suggested it should be a masquerade party so that other tribes could attend and it could also be a way for me to find my mate.
I loved the idea, and a strict rule was created: no one is allowed to reveal their identities to each other, just have fun and leave.
In the men's restroom, Martins met with me, and I gave him a simple warning, “Martins, I know you always like to protect me, but tonight, I want you to also have fun.”
“I am not allowed to have fun, Alpha. It’s my duty to watch over you. If there are truly other tribes here, then I must never leave your side. What if they try to harm you?” he said with concern. This is one thing I love about Martins. Yes, he is my Beta, but I also consider him my friend. I don’t really have friends, and even my schoolmates from back in the day are all scared of me.
Martins has dedicated his entire life to protection, but tonight I must not deny him any fun at all. “Martins, as your Alpha, I command you to have fun with the ladies tonight, and I will do the same. No arguments.” I wore my blue dragon mask and left the restroom.
I took a glass of wine and watched everyone having fun. I think I love this party more than yesterday's. Everyone is here, and the vibe is incredible.
My eyes landed on a pretty damsel. I got carried away by her steps, and my wolf named Lethal got excited, saying, “Our mate is here. She is here. Finally, we are going to have a mate, and our pack will become stronger.”
“Lethal, wouldn't it be weird to call her 'mate' in a place like this?”
“If it’s weird, then approach her like the gentleman that you are and not like what the rumors say about you.”
I approached her, and I could feel my heart about to jump out, but I had to control myself.
It wasn’t easy trying to get her attention, and during the dance when we kissed, I desired her even more.
I noticed she got shy after the kiss. Maybe she doesn't like parties, so I suggested taking her to the guest house close to the club. I doubted if a little drink would make her tipsy, so this is not me taking advantage of her. I also became intoxicated; I actually had some strong whiskey before coming to the party. I turned off the lights immediately.
Knowing she wants me as well, we ended up in bed, and I kissed her slowly, taking off our clothes. I made love to her, and it’s the best memory ever.
Waking up the next morning, I thought she must have left. I didn't get to see her face last night, but I will this morning.
I saw the moon mark behind her shoulders, and when I tapped her to see her face, she covered herself with the blanket. When I took it off, she had already left.
If I wanted to catch her, it would be easy, but I allowed her to run. At least I saw the markings on her face and back, so it’s easier for me to find her and propose marriage to her.
I noticed blood stains on the bed as well. Oh no, she is a virgin. I took her virginity the wrong way. She will probably be sad about it. I guess I was a bit tipsy myself not to know. No wonder she was so tight.
I left the guest house with my Beta, and seeing him smile, I knew he had a lot of fun last night.
“Martins, which of the tribes bears the moon marking that glitters like silver?” I questioned immediately after we got home.
“That would probably be the Silver Moon Pack.”
“You mean our rivals bear those birthmarks?” I asked to confirm.
“Yes, Alpha, but it is common with royals like the Alpha himself or his children or relatives. Is there a problem?” he asked with concern.
“Not a problem but a solution. Find out about the Alpha's family.”
He nodded and left. The following night I received feedback saying the Alpha has two daughters. The first twin is a powerful warrior and hardworking, while the second youngest twin is an Omega that can’t shift. Everyone hates her as well because she is a flirt and loves sleeping with different kinds of men.
“Martins, send luxurious gifts to the Alpha of the Silver Moon Pack. Tell him I wish to marry his daughter, and it will also serve as a peace offering for both tribes.”
“I will get the best gifts, and also, do you think the elders will buy it?”
“I am the Alpha and I make the rules. Lastly, now that I've found my mate, it’s time for you to introduce me to yours. You better start finding your mate.” I tapped his shoulder and left with a smile.
“Alpha Nicklaus, I have sent her away. The elders are still waiting.” Martins said to me, bringing me back to the present, and I walked with him to the meeting.
A new matter came up as well. I was told that the Nightwalkers will be seeking an alliance with us because they were recently attacked.
The Beta quickly informed me that they were at the gate, and I gave him the order to let them in.
A few moments later, after the meeting, the maids served the drinks. But I noticed a particular maid who was totally different from the others, so I stopped her, “You, stay. Others, leave.” They all obeyed and left.
“Who are you?” I questioned her, and she looked a bit frightened. She avoided my eyes as well.
Gabriella's POV "What message?""Please kindly inform your Alpha that I was the one with him that night at the mask party. I am his mate, and he has mistaken me for my sister," I said to the Beta, but he burst into serious laughter."Why are you laughing?" I questioned and lost my boldness, looking down."You can't just walk in here and claim to be the Alpha's mate.""You have to believe me. I am not pretending at all. Everything I am saying is the truth. What would I gain from lying?" I questioned him politely. He took a deep breath and looked at me again. "Okay, fine. Sit here and wait while I inform the Alpha.""Thank you so much. I truly appreciate it.""Don't thank me yet," he said and headed into the main building.I looked around, and wow, his home is so beautiful and spacious. I guess life here will be great, and I won't be ridiculed by his people.I thought about Tracy. What if she comes in here and meets me? Wouldn't she be offended? I hope she doesn't come, and when I get h
Gabriella’s POV I woke up the next morning with a cold, my clothes still soaked, and my hair drenched as well. Luckily, I spotted a taxi and immediately hailed it to head home. I stripped off my wet clothes, took a warm bath, and bundled up in thick garments to combat the cold that had settled in. I began sneezing as well. I suppose my father either didn't notice my absence in the house or he noticed and chose to ignore me. After all, his favorite daughter is marrying my mate. My cold worsened, causing me considerable discomfort. Fortunately, my sister entered my room, concern evident in her eyes. "Sis, you look so pale. What happened to you?" She moved towards me, inspecting my condition. "I got caught in the rain and I think I've caught a cold," I replied, still shivering beneath my blanket. "You silly girl, you know you're susceptible to colds when you get soaked. Why didn't you find shelter? You've worried me sick." "I'll be fine, sister. No need to worry. You should be gettin
Nicklaus's POV After the priest announced us as husband and wife, we kissed, and I felt a bit off. But anyway, she is my wife and Luna—I need to make her happy. The dance was called for, and we were meant to open the dance floor. "May I have this dance?" I asked. "Yes, my Alpha," she said with a smile. I remembered the first time I danced with her; I felt happy, and my heart kept beating very fast. Why am I not experiencing any of these signs while dancing with her now? Is it because I am expecting too much from her today, or is it because we got intoxicated that night? Well, I can't afford to ruin things. "Alpha, is everything okay?" she questioned. "Yes, everything is fine. I guess I am just too excited about today. Look at us—heroes and heroines of our packs. We brought peace," I decided to engage in a conversation, hoping it would help me. After the dance, we took our seats and watched others dance. I noticed the way the Beta of her father looked at her. Are they close or wh
Gabriella’s POV I sat down, waiting for the fourth bus heading South among strangers. It feels good to be among strangers; I can breathe freely, and no one will ridicule me or call me worthless. I know my absence won't be felt by my father, and he probably won't even inform my sister. I hope she enjoys her marriage. "Why are you running away, Gabriella? You should have at least told Alpha Nicklaus that you are pregnant with his child," Leah said to me. "Leah, I'm glad to hear your voice. But there's no point in telling someone who rejected me. I don't see the need." "Do you know anyone who lives in the South?" I remained calm for a moment. I really don't have anyone, and my fate lies with the moon goddess; I believe she will protect me. "I don't need to know someone there, Leah. I have some funds with me, and I'll be able to get an apartment and feed myself," I explained to my wolf. "What if you run out of money? What will you do then? How will you take care of the unborn child?"
Gabriella’s POV Waking up the following morning, I felt completely different—weak and in need of medical attention. Before I knew it, I rushed to the bathroom to throw up. After washing my face and looking in the mirror, I saw how pale I appeared. I ordered breakfast and, when it arrived, I asked the person who brought the food if she knew of a hospital nearby. She described one, but it would take about an hour to get there. I thanked her and prepared to visit the hospital after finishing my meal. I took a taxi to the hospital. Upon arrival, I saw a lady playing with her two-year-old daughter. Envy welled up in me, though I didn't regret having my child even with the absent father. I obtained a card and waited for the doctor. The doctor requested that I visit the lab for an ultrasound to determine the baby's age and study the fetus. I made the payment and was informed to return the following day on an empty stomach but well-hydrated. Leaving the hospital, I decided to take a brief t
Gabriella’s POV Awakening once again, I felt significantly better and noticed the same woman serving me a rice ball with a cup of fresh juice, “You must be hungry.” “You think I'm that stupid? Do you expect me to eat this? What if it's poisoned?” I questioned, as I don't trust anyone and won't let my guard down, having learned life's harsh lessons. “I see you have trust issues. I'll take a bite so you can see the food isn't poisoned,” she reassured, taking a bite. But I still doubted her, saying, “What if you took an antidote to the poison already?” “Hey, if I wanted to kill you, I would have done that while you were sleeping or snapped your neck with my spells. How about that? Now eat, to replenish your strength.” “The name is Gabriella, and thank you.” “You're welcome. I will take care of you to ensure your daughter comes into this world at ease.” My eyes widened, “I have a daughter? How did you know?” “I am an elder witch, and I saw a vision of your baby. Enough talk, let me
Gabriella’s POV He has become more mature than he was four years ago, with longer hair and bangs that can cover half of his red pupils. I feel a little uneasy inside as his aura seems stronger. Fortunately, my wolf is not as excited about her mate as before. His arm muscles bulge, and his brows reveal a fierce expression. I even sense a terrifying aura of killing intent. As I watch the fight between them, he kills with ease. Now I guess the rumors about him ending his father's life for power might be true after all. I thought seeing him would make me feel different, but when I see him, I hate him more. He's just a black history that I don't wish to revisit again. I notice he gets carried away with the ones he is fighting, not seeing the impending danger from behind. I will save him because he is my twin sister's husband, and for no other reason attached to it. “Og lu an to ditol.” The Black wolf dies instantly along with the others. Then he turns around; I didn't get enough time to h
Nicklaus’s POV "Are you sure they took the hostages to this very forest? I feel it's a trap," I said to the Beta over the phone using my AirPods. "I don't really know what to say, Alpha. I just covered the northern area. I haven't seen anything strange yet." "Keep me posted on anything you come across and be careful as well. They started this war and they will regret what I will do after we rescue our members who got captured today." "Lethal, I feel this is an ambush." "I don't smell our pack members here. I can only sense some strange werewolves here— the black moon wolves. We have to be more vigilant," Lethal advised. I moved deeper into the forest and saw some footprints on the ground. I guess they are not far from here anymore. I should be able to find them. I smelled the leaves and noticed something strange here, and I am right. No captives are here. The Beta called me again saying, "They are here, just a few guards. They got here but I killed them all. Should I send some
