“ENOUGH!” Alpha Clide bellowed out, Victor did not budge holding his nose against my chest so I could not get up.
“Alpha” Bella said meekly, I moved my head to see Anya had shifted back to her human form. Her head was bleeding pretty badly.
The Alpha stopped a moment looking at Anya before giving Bella a sympathetic look.
“Child, she will be okay. Once you shift you become a lot sturdier.” Bella nodded but still looked incredibly worried.
“Laura?” Luna Ashly called out in concern, seeing me under Victor’s wolf she rushed over.
“What is the meaning of this? Alpha Victor? Clide?” She asked, her tone turning hot and angry. Clide looked away nervously from her as Victor seemed to stare into my very soul.
“Clide, you promised me…” Ashly started, venom in her tone as he sighed with defeat.
“Alpha Victor, we spoke about this.” He said in almost a pleading tone before Victor growled moving off me.
I stayed laying there not trus
A sense of dread had completely taken over my being as I cradled Luna Ashly in my arms. I felt almost cold, focused on the task at hand. I glanced down and shuddered at the bare flesh of her neck, her exposed muscles throbbing as blood attempted to filter through her vessel. I looked back ahead of me, carefully stepping back through the forest begging for someone, anyone to be outside when I arrived. The Goddess must have heard my prayers as soon as I stood foreword from the tree line screams of fear and sadness echoed out.“Blood?”“Who’s injured?”“Luna!”“NO!”I felt my own hot tears sit at the corners of my eyes as many people stared at me and the Luna. I continued walking forward screaming for someone to help, Alpha Clide rushed forward pushing people out of his way to approach us. His eyes were already full of dread, grief, and anger.“What…” He managed to choke o
It hadn’t been much longer after Victor left that I passed out again. Waking up to the taste of something so sweet, almost floral in my mouth. I drank up the liquid quickly and with almost a desire for more. “Slow down Laura…” Herman’s voice called out “I mean, Luna Laura” he corrected himself as someone scoffed. I opened my eyes as Herman was screwing a lid back onto a flask, giving me an exhausted smile. “That should have done it, you will be feeling much better now I think.” He paused giving me a once over before he let out a satisfied sigh. I felt overjoyed as I felt my body reconnected to my brain, I moved all my fingers and toes before stretching out and hearing that ever-satisfying snap of my bones. But the pain soon flooded through me as I winced, looking down at my bare arms I saw pink fresh skin. “Ah, yes,” Herman muttered before he put cold cream on my arms, massaging them delicately but still causing some pain. I mus
I stood in front of the door with Domini on my right and Dimitri on my left stealing a calming breath trying to soothe my beating heart. I wasn’t sure anymore if I could handle seeing the Luna Ashly, laying still and unmoving on a hospital bed. Flashes of her bleeding throat echoed in my mind, the wolves attacking her and me just standing there. “You don’t have to go in Laura” Domini spoke at the same time as Dimitri “you don’t have to go in Luna.” I glanced at both of them surprised at how concerned their tones were. I smiled reassuringly before holding the door handle. “I have to do this,” I said more to myself before opening the door. I felt my heart hammer and almost stop as I saw Alpha Clide hunched over an unmoving covered Luna. I approached slowly taking her in, her body was so still you could mistake her for being already dead, and her body was covered in a thick blanket as I was. I wondered what her face looked like, but was almost thankful i
It was a surreal experience walking around the pack grounds, every person that saw me would go wide-eyed and stare or ignore me. I felt a sense of shame as I recognized some people’s faces from the crowd that had surrounded Luna Ashly and myself. I had failed to protect her, and they knew it as much as I did. I felt the all too familiar quickening of my heartbeat as everyone’s faces began to blur. My lips tingled as all the moisture in my mouth disappeared and I felt the urge to pass out. I looked around frantically trying to find someone familiar but could no longer recognize any of the faces. I felt my chest start to hurt as the voices and mumbling of everyone got louder in my ears, thumping against my brain. Laughter echoed out as the faces began to morph into cruel smiles as I felt my lips part as I tried to suck in air, my lungs felt like they were closing up with each passing second. I gripped the sides of my head in my hands wishing for the buzz of voices to stop
Honestly, I was finding myself getting annoyed at Domini. He was keeping a lot from me, at first, I had agreed that it was simply due to pack business. But now? Now I really knew something was up. I glanced at Ellen, her face staring off into the distance deep in her own thoughts. I felt a piece of me scrutinize her thinking about all the times she was so… so off around Domini. Did she know more than me?“Laura?” Micheal called his tone strange again, I looked at him as he sat on the small lounge in the shared living room. His face was calm but his eyes were piercing, I bit my lip nervously as Ellen sighed before walking into Domini’s and my kitchen. Micheal followed her with his eyes before they re-connected with mine and he spoke in a hushed tone.“Laura, just… back there. I saw you.” He almost spat, I felt confused at his anger.“You weren’t hunting… not like they think.” He shook his
Domini walked in almost oblivious to the tension in the room, or maybe he was just ignoring it."Are you serious?" I muttered as he quickly glanced around realizing we were all upset. All three of us were glaring at Domini, and I assumed for the same reason.“What?” He asked fanning ignorance.“Where’s the other guy?” Micheal asked in an uninterested tone but I smiled slyly knowing that he did like him.“Ah, well Alpha Victor wanted to speak to him privately.”I raised my eyebrows as I felt concerned for Dimitri’s welfare, images of Victor allowing his sister to be injured reminding me of the man he was.“I’m sure he will be fine,” Domini said with a grin that did not touch his eyes, not helping the worry building inside me.Ellen cleared her throat before glancing at me “she knows.”Domini growled before closing his eyes and pinchi
I stood naked before a room of mirrors, confused at my own reflection. My once silver hair was stained in red and my purple eyes seemed to glow before me. I reached up to touch my face, the reflection followed and I felt my heart sink knowing it truly was me. I felt my body jerk as I saw my fingers had curled into what looked like claws, my arms covered in fur but looking down I could see my legs had remained human. I felt my lungs close as I watched my body jerk into old shapes as if it could not find a form it was supposed to be until it stopped abruptly. The image staring back at me was nothing like I had seen before, terrifying. I had my face but my teeth were extended like fangs, unable to sit in a human mouth they jutted out. I cried as the mirrors around me cracked and laughter filled the air.“Monster!” Voices unseen began to chant as I backed away from the breaking glass. I piece managed to cut my cheek as it shattered, but I did not bleed red. I held my
We all funneled into the hall, I felt a surge of anticipation and awe as I looked around. The main entrance was much larger than the outside let you believe, portraits lined the walls of every wolf that our pack had ever completed the transformation. As we walked further into the building the painted portraits transitioned into photos, remarkable how humans had advanced technology. Mr. Marks stopped at a set of large wooden doors, one hand placed on the handle grinning at all of us. “Nothing fills me with more pride than this, the moment you all leave childhood and become adults. I must say, it has been such a pleasure and achievement to watch each and every one of you grow into the people you have.” There were lots of awws and thank yous as we all clapped, Mr. Marks, wiping a tear from his eye. “Okay, follow me!” He called before the doors swung open revealing a stunning open room. It was larger than any room I had ever been in, the walls were a silv
