Royal Breakfast

Elena POV

I woke with a dreaded feeling of guilt. I had to make it up to Tyler and for fuck's sake I needed forget about Ryker's large hands on my body.

"I love his tender touch, sweet kisses, and loving eyes. I do not want to be groped with rough hands or kissed with a dominating tongue or feel his large hard -"

"Oh Princess, I didn't mean to interrupt you. It's almost time for breakfast and I wanted to get your hair ready." Helena said. She was an older woman in her fifties and had been my head maid since birth.

"I'm sorry, Helena. I was just remembering a poem I read once." I let out a nervous giggle with a blush.

What is wrong with me? The more I told myself not to

think of something the more I did. Stupid how the brain worked that way.

"No worries, I barely heard what you said princess. Where is your handmaid? You should be dressed." Helena asked, grabbing a white sundress from my closet.

I just remembered Serenity slept next to me and I ripped her blanket off, hitting her in the back. It would not be tolerated to share a room with a servant, but Helena was the only other person that would enter my room unannounced. She knew how close we were.

Helena was the closest person to a mother figure I had. My actual mom put on a pleasant face, but I always knew she didn't care to have any bond with me. My mother, my Luna, wanted strong boys so the pack would have protection. Alpha boys to keep the bloodline safe and alive was basically a fucking motto for us wolves.

My mother, Theresa, was attacked by Rogues and couldn't have anymore children after me. I was nothing but a reminder of how she failed her husband and pack. Since my mother marked my father he couldn't have other women, not that it would matter anyway. Any illegitimate child wouldn't carry the Luna blood.

Despite the rules suggesting that Alpha's are more important, everyone knew that an Alpha and Luna were equal.

I'm sure I didn't know all my parent's frustration, but I knew I was a disappoint to them. I spent my whole life trying to be the proper princess, but also smarter and stronger than any of the boys.

I hit Serenity again seeing Helena's growing annoyance. "Argh! What do you want hoe?" She yelled, wrapping herself back in the blankets.

I giggled at her bluntness "Get up bitch we got royalty duties to tend to."

Helena gave us both a disappointed sigh.

"Go dress yourself, you're not a toddler for fuck's sake, your majesty." Serenity covered her head with her pillow. She was never much of a morning person, but after last night's affairs and only 3 hours of sleep, she obviously wasn't in the mood.

"Serenity Everwood get your ass out of bed and get your future Queen ready. You girls better mind your manners. If anyone ever heard her talk to you like that she would be killed before you could open your pretty little mouth to object." Helena reprimanded us.

"Sorry Mrs. Helena." We both said, giving her sad eyes.

"Don't pout at me, it doesn't work. Now go get dressed so I can do your hair. Oh, and Elena dear, never apologize to a servant." Helena gave us a motherly smile.

"Of course. Thank you!" I was about to bow my head to her, but quickly straighten. I couldn't do that either. She gave me a small smile in return.

I walked into the dining hall in my white sun dress covered in blue flowers matched with tan wedge sandals. I wasn't really short, being 5'8, but Alphas were always over 6 feet tall. I needed to appear as their equal which is why I always wore some type of heel.

Almost every morning my family, high ranking pack members, and high-ranking guests met for breakfast. The dining hall was a fancy room decorated in red and brown with oriental rugs and large crystal chandelier.

The table could easily seat twenty people with the two strongest alphas at each head. To the left of my father, the table was lined with males and to the right with females. The Lunas were always next to or across from their Alpha.

My pack was of the royal family. Everything we did was for image, that way all wolves knew we were the pack to the king and queen. Every hour was planned, and every event was a grand spectacle.

There hadn't been a royal family for hundreds of years until my great great grandfather declared our family of royalty and himself King. Since we were the strongest pack that overpowered the Shadow Wolves no one dared deny his claim. My great great grandfather killed the last Shadow Wolf and formed an alliance with the Crescent Moon and Blood Moon pack to ensure their bloodlines remained in power.

The Red Moon pack was of royalty, the Crescent Moon pack was to provide and serve, and the Blood Moon pack was the military warriors for both of the strongest packs. It was like the Red Moon was the Alpha, Crescent Moon the Beta, and Blood Moon the soldiers. All organized and executed by my great great grandfather.

As I walked in Tyler excused himself from his parents. He gave me a smile filled with love and his lips softly kissed my cheeks. "You look beautiful, princess."

I bowed my head with a shy smile, feeling like a total jerk. At least I wouldn't see Ryker again. I can just concentrate on making things right with my boyfriend. I needed to find a way to make him feel as loved as I do. Maybe then I would stop feeling so guilty.

Tyler put his hand to my back and guided me to my chair. He pulled it out for me to sit and I gave him another smile, but this time I looked him in the eye.

"Thank you!" I gave him a small kiss on his cheek to show my appreciation that he wasn't going to make a big deal out of last night.

As I turned to sit, I was faced with my god like creature sitting across the table. The man that stirred all kinds of feelings inside me that was nothing appropriate for breakfast with my family, let alone sitting with my boyfriend. He gave me a knowing smile, making me curse under my breath. Tyler proceeded to sit directly across from me, which of course was right next to Ryker.

Great! now I have the man I love and the man I crave side by side all morning long. This is going to be a long meal.

As everyone was present and seated my mother, Luna Theresa, waved to the servants to begin serving the food.

"Thank you for joining us today Alpha Ryker. I hope your first night visiting my pack has been enjoyable." My father, Alpha Blake, tipped his glass to Ryker, and he mirrored his gesture back.

"Yes Alpha, it has been quite exciting so far. I'm curious to learn all the ways of the Royal family." Ryker's lip curled up on one side as he shot me a glance. Goddess, he was a smog asshole, typical Alpha.

"Well, that is good to hear. My daughter's awakening ceremony is next week, and I would like to have an induction ceremony for your pack next week as well. We are all very eager to have your skills and warriors join the council's ranks."

"Thank you Alpha, we are just as eager, and appreciate the invitation."

"What did Ryker do that was so great to get an induction ceremony?" I blurted out, instantly regretting it. I wasn't sure if my words were just in my head, but as my father's angry glare washed over my body I realized my mistake.

"You don't ever speak out of tongue child, or I will remind you of your place. He is an Alpha and will be addressed as such. The affairs of men will never be of your concern."

"I'm so sorry father, please forgive me. I didn't mean to speak so bluntly. I was simply shocked, and I admit I'm feeling a bit... not myself as my birthday is so close."

"How do you address me?" Alpha Blake raised his voice with growing irritation.

"Sorry Alpha" I bowed my head in submission.

"I understand you must be nervous, but it will not be an excuse for such disrespect. You have been raised to be a Queen, not an ungrateful brat."

"Of course, fath- Alpha." I responded with a clenched fist hidden under the table, but held my head down in shame. I knew how to be the proper princess. I just hated how everyone treated me like I was something worthless.

"Please excuse my daughter, Alpha Ryker. We all know what tricks our wolves play on us once we become an adult. Although my daughter was cursed with no wolf, she has been graciously accepted by the Crescent Moon's future Alpha as her mate. She will not show such disrespect again." Alpha Blake gave a nod to Tyler.

Any time I disappointed him, Tyler always caught heat for not handling his future mate properly.

"I will speak with Elena after breakfast Alpha Blake. There will be no more outbursts." Tyler gave me a pointed look. Once Alpha Blake eyes went back to Alpha Ryker, Tyler gave me a small smile and a wink. We were all playing the parts we needed to survive the King.

Tyler and I have been friends since we were babies. A few times he tried to use his Alpha command on me, but I easily knocked him on his ass. I had a wolf spirit that I needed to keep hidden, but it was hard letting everyone control me. I had a temper, just like my father, but Tyler learned that a simple smile or flirtatious wink would make my heart flutter back to him.

His parents didn't approve of him being the nice, sweet boyfriend because it made him look weak, but they didn't really care as long as I made him King. We were all pawns in their game. Tyler needed me to willingly marry and mark him so he could become King. That was the only way to solidify his power.

"It's truly no problem, Alpha Blake. I have younger sisters and understand." Ryker kept his face emotionless, but looked around the table with a hint of disgust.

I really needed to stop looking at him. Goddess help me!
