Kaitlyn's eyes widened with fear. For the last five years, she had been going through hell when her mate let others beat and torture her, trying to get the information he needed. Even now, her body was covered with cuts and bruises after the last interrogation, and her eye was black and swollen. Lucius was very creative when it came to making someone suffer. Kaitlyn discovered new levels of unbearable pain she would never have imagined existed. On some days, she was so broken and exhausted that all she could do was pray for a death. But no gods listened to her. She was healed after every session so her mate could have a fresh start every time.
