POV RubyThe next couple of days flew by. We had cheer practice that went surprisingly well and then the next day we left school as soon as the bell rang to go find dresses for the dance. I was happy that I had been able to avoid Wolf most of the day. We still had lunch with him but Cassy and I were careful to sit so he and Jackal couldn't be near us. We also made sure to bring up Mac as much as possible. Jackal looked pissed most of the time. Wolf looked livid.Cassy still wasn't sure what she was going to do about Jackal. Deep down, I think that she kinda liked him but she didn't like how possessive he was. In reality, she hated commitment almost as much as I did, she just wouldn't admit it. She was always on the verge of getting serious with someone when she would find a flaw and end things over it.Don, Foxy, Cassy, Scarlett and I all piled into Scarlett's car after school. Foxy looked nervous but the rest of us were excited. Well, with the exception of me. I wasn't excited about
POV WolfI could tell that Ruby was annoyed about me buying the dresses and crashing their shopping trip but I didn't care. I realized after lunch that Foxy wouldn't have the money to buy a dress at the stores that Cassy and Scarlett would shop at and I wasn't about to let her go without or be embarrassed. I wasn't expecting Ruby to understand or realize that Foxy wouldn't be able to afford the dress though. It made me like her more but I also needed her to understand that I take care of my people. Foxy is a member of my gang and my friend, it's my job to take care of her, not Ruby's. I really wasn't planning on buying Ruby's dress or Cassy's but since she pushed the issue, I decided to prove my point. I knew that Dad wouldn't mind especially when I explained who it was for. He really wanted Ruby's mom to rejoin the Riders of Fenrir. He told me that he would even like to get Cassy's mom too. Any way that we could show them that we would help and protect them would be ok in his book."
Ruby POVAfter we got into the car, Cassy and Scarlett turned to me."Was it him?" Cassy demanded and I nodded."Yep. I don't know how he got my number again. I'll have to change it. I'm so sick of changing numbers, Cass." I sighed as she held me tightly."I know you are but it's the best way for him to leave you alone." Cassy replied and Scarlett nodded. Don and Foxy looked confused but didn't ask anything."You don't think that he knows that you moved, do you?" Scarlett asked nervously."I don't know how he would." I responded and she relaxed."What's going on?" Don finally asked but Cassy shook her head."Nothing for you to worry about. We've got it taken care of." I replied, brightly. Cassy and Scarlett fake smiled and quickly changed the subject but Cassy kept her arm around me the rest of the ride back to our house and both Foxy and Don looked unconvinced.Cassy and I hugged the other three goodbye as they headed back to the school so Foxy could get her bike and Don could get hi
Ruby POVI felt the heated looks of my friends on my back as I waited in line. Suddenly I felt someone press against my back."What the hell are you doing, princess?" Wolf whispered in my ear. I closed my eyes for a second and then shrugged."I'm in line for lunch" I replied with a fake smirk. I made the mistake of turning to look at his face. His eyes were dark and the rage shown there took my breath away."You know what I mean. What are you playing at with Clive of all people?" he asked."I was just helping him with some homework problem and he wanted to take me to The Spot to thank me" I replied, honestly. Wolf's face cleared suddenly and he smirked."You really think that Clive needed help with a homework problem? He's a genius. He could practically write the textbook" he asked with a sneer. I turned away as the realization hit me. He was right."He was playing you so he could take you out. He likes you." Wolf continued as we picked up some food. I shrugged and avoided looking at
POV RubyI managed to avoid both Sam and Wolf for the rest of the day. When the last bell rang, I sighed. I still hadn't decided what to do about the situation with Clive. I was pissed that he played me but I liked that he stood up to Wolf and didn't mind that I was using him to get Wolf to leave me alone. As I walked to my locker I decided that I would go with him to The Spot but call him out on the 'homework help' bs."Hey, Ruby! You ready to go?" I looked up to see Clive waiting at my locker already."Sure, let me just get my stuff." I replied."Do you need to find Cassy or Scarlett to let them know that you've got a ride?" he asked as I opened my locker."Nope. I already told them. Thanks though." I responded, smiling at the memory of their shocked faces when I told them who I was going out with. Cassy recovered quickly but I think both Scarlett and Don still looked surprised. I shut my locker and we hurried to the door. Or rather, I hurried and Clive rushed to keep up. I was tryi
POV WolfI woke up Friday morning still in a rage. My Riders never did manage to find Ruvy but one of them finally noticed that Clive's car was back at his house. I had Jackal visit him to make sure that Ruby made it home safe and to threaten him to never take my girl out again. Clive refused to agree to that but we will see. I didn't want to harm him because he's valuable to the Riders. He makes sure that we all pass our classes but if he continues to come between Ruby and I, I'll have no choice. After we made it to school, I was constantly looking for Ruby."Still looking for her?" Foxy asked and I nodded."Maybe you should just leave her alone for a bit? You know, give her some space?" Hound suggested and I glared at him."He's got a point, boss. She's a nice girl and the Rider life would destroy her." Foxy added.I shook my head, "Nope. I'm going to keep all that from her. She will be protected at all costs. That's why I can't leave her alone. I can't keep her safe if I'm not with
POV RubyAfter I realized that I was hugging Wolf, I quickly backed away, flustered."I umm.. have to get to class" I mumbled as I stepped back and tripped. Wolf quickly stepped forward and caught me before I could make and even bigger fool of myself."Do you? Maybe I should walk you, princess" he smirked and I rolled my eyes."I think I can manage" I began but he shook his head and tightened his arms around me."Come on. I'll worry about you if I don't." he insisted and I didn't have the will power to fight him. He kept his arm around me as we walked first to my locker and then to my next class. All our friends saw us and they looked at me in surprise. I shrugged and they grinned. When we finally got to my class, Wolf stopped me."I'll meet you right here after class, ok?" he began and I shook my head."No need. Cassy and Scar are in this class. They'll be with me." I explained, annoyed by his overprotectiveness. Suddenly, he grinned."I'm not meeting you because I want you to be pro
POV RubyI looked around in alarm when I realized who had pulled up. While Nick had been nice to me, everyone else had warned me about how terrible he was. I didn't want anything to do with him. I just wanted to keep my distance from him and all the Reapers."Where are you headed to, blondie?" he asked me."Just heading home." I replied and he stepped closer."What about you?" I inquired just to be polite."I was headed over to the bar. Why don't you hop on and join me?" he demanded more than asked. I smiled but shook my head."No, thanks. I have to get home. The girls are meeting me soon." I explained and he glared."Oh, honey, I wasn't asking you..." he began and slid even nearer to me. I backed away and he smirked.Just as I was about to either get pissed off or panic, I heard another bike approach. He and I watched as a bike neared us and stopped. I braced myself for angry Wolf but was surprised to see an angry Jackal when the helmet came off."Ruby, get on the bike." he commanded
