Chapter-3

Ashley's pov-

Two people came wearing black suits, and one of them was wet from the rain that was dripping outside.

They both looked as if they own everything, one of them was very arrogant to all the waitresses that were acknowledging their presence.

And I hated that!

I hated the guts of that billionaire man.

Though girls were giggling around them as they only want to get their attention.

When it didn't go well I got the order to give them their supply. So I went ahead while looking down; down because I didn't want to look up. To look straight in the eyes of those men who think they can do everything with women's vulnerability, I looked down as always knowing my worth.

The man was curiously looking at me, gazing at me as if he was mad.

And then out of a sudden, he declared I don't have manners how to act ahead of customers.

Maybe he wanted me to giggle around him, but I wasn't ready to do that yet.

That's why I didn't do what he was expecting me to do I came back behind the room again where everything was in the process of making.

"What's wrong?"  Amelia asked her brows were confused while looking at me.

I shrugged my shoulders.

"Nothing," I whispered back.

"what are your plans for tomorrow?" Amelia looked at me with a grin on her face.

what's in her mind? has she forgotten that we have to stay away from everyone to not get lost in anybody's plan?

"Nothing, I will just stick to reading one of my favourite books and pretend that this world doesn't exist for me."

I looked outside the window while glorifying the weather here. the most astonishing time of new york city is when all the tall buildings are not enough to hide our emotions and we let go of ourselves in the beautiful weather here.

I have always looked up to all the tall buildings, their surroundings, to all the big malls and stores, to everything where my eyes could land but the harsh truth is I have always looked down, never had the guts to look up or to buy anything.

when dad left they didn't just leave his presence inside our house instead they snatched away my freedom, and my dreams to fight.

"you are so boring," she pouted! but when she looked at me from head to toe. found me too naive for this world she started coming closer and whispered in my ears "will you on a party with me tomorrow?"

and my eyes went wide. she was the same girl who was trying to direct me to stay away from all the mess now here she is in her glory inviting me to a party?

"are you insane? or what have you done to Amelia," I looked at her with caution?

she snickered at my thought first then laughed, while lightly punching my shoulder.

"oh come on!  it's not going to be a terrible idea! besides, you will be my partner and we would stay away from the boys if that's what you are wondering for."

then she shows me the tickets to the most expensive hotel- The Hotel Greenpark. "listen there will be a party over there tomorrow where only rich people go, all the fucking bastards with their girlfriends come there, and we don't have to worry because we are going with each other, there will be no boys  for us besides I was the lucky girl to get my hands on these tickets!"

and when I asked where did she get tickets from? she said a customer came here yesterday with a broken heart and he was supposed to the hotel with her girlfriend but of course, he got cheated on that's why he gave that to her, a supposed tip.

though, he was smirking while giving these tickets because he was thinking about how it is going to be useful for a waitress?

and at that time she decided she will do anything to attend that party because no one can underestimate her.

as I looked up to meet her eyes I saw the determination in them! the determination was telling me she would do anything to prove her point.

oh! woman and their ways to deal with destruction.

however, the point is should I go with her? my heart was telling me to go there my mind was telling me it was a bad idea.

I have never been to such lavish places, and not been a part of any kind of party, have no time to enjoy my life so this is the best opportunity for me and I should grab it now!

as I looked down at myself I realized I don't have any dress or anything to be paired up with.

when she found me staring at my clothes she assured me there is no need to worry she will manage everything and I only had to follow her.

when our shift ended she told me there is a shop that gives fancy clothes for rent. and they don't charge much money so maybe the universe is on my side. luckily, I got a huge amount of tips today!

it was the time of evening, and all dark when she was directing me to a lane area, all the crowded shops were there to sell cheap clothes, or maybe for rent.

I have never been to this kind of area before, well, truth to be told I have never been anywhere besides my office or my home.

my life as a young woman has been jeopardized by the pressure on my shoulders that I have to carry.

"look I found the shop!" she showed me the shop while pointing her finger towards it and I was like a puppy following her wherever she was leading me on.

two old men greeted us and welcomed us into their shop. both of them were deeply engrossed with other customers too. however, I was a little shy to say what I want so I just looked up and started exploring the dress.

"pick up any dress," Amelia winked at me.

when I looked at the dresses they were so beautiful I have never seen anything like this in my life.

from gowns to cocktail dresses everything was present there.

"Look what I found!" Amelia showed me the most gorgeous gown, it was blue with silvers attached to it. oh my if she wore this she would be looking like a mermaid. her blue eyes perfectly match the colour of the gown.

"why don't you go and try," I told her while searching for the perfect dress for me.

"Are you sure?" she reassured while looking at the dress, and I nodded at her while smiling because I, Ashley Brooke just got the perfect dress for her!
