Chapter 10. Looking For The Truth

“Honey, come inside. Let me talk to Vincent." Mr. Jamieson gently asked his wife to come back into the room. With a flat expression, the woman turned to go into her room. After that, Mr. Jamieson spoke to Vincent again.

“Tell me the truth, Vince. What happened?" Mr. Jamieson insisted, half whispering to Vincent. Vincent turned slightly towards the door, then pulled Mr. Jamieson's arm away from the door.

“Mr. Jamieson, please help me. I'm being slandered. I was accused of shooting my ex-boss, even though I wasn't the one who did it. I came to get my things!” said Vincent, also lowering his voice so as not to make a noise. Mr. Jamieson seemed to frown slightly.

“The police came this afternoon to question some neighbors. Luckily, I wasn't home yet, so they couldn't do it. If what you said is true, then why would they question everyone?”

Vincent took a deep sigh. He was a little hesitant to tell him what happened.
