My speech on rusty Mars...

I gave the speech to a small school of thinkers.

The Mystery of Mars: A Scientist's Perspective

Greetings, fellow thinkers! Today, I want to delve into the captivating enigma of Mars, the red planet. Its beautiful hue has fueled our curiosity for centuries, prompting us to ask: what secrets lie beneath its rusty surface?

As a scientist, I can tell you that Mars's reddish hue is primarily due to the abundance of iron oxide in its soil. This compound, also known as rust, forms when iron reacts with oxygen. Like the rusty bicycle left out in the rain, Mars's iron-rich surface oxidizes, giving the planet its distinctive red colour.

But the story goes deeper than just iron. The Martian atmosphere plays a crucial role in this process. Mars has a thin atmosphere, unlike Earth, allowing more solar radiation to reach its surface. This intense radiation further catalyzes the oxidation of iron, enhancing the red hue.

Some of you may be wondering, could this be a sign of Mars being "killed,"
