Making a deal with the Devil was the only way I could describe what I was about to do. However, it didn't give the act justice because this man was worse than the Devil and deep down I knew it; everyone knew it. It was why my father was more against this idea than when I told him about creating an alliance with the hunters — which I still thought I could make possible given the time.

Mom was against it but she trusted me. Giving her my trust meant that she gave me hers. That didn't stop her from voicing her opinion. Sylvain thought I was losing my mind, going completely insane. Wow! This chapter was a little intense! I don't think Sydney can really kill Quade even if she wanted to...the mate bond won't let her. I honestly think Victor wouldn't even let her kill Quade.
