5. Possessive

Kingdom of Alva.

Andrei’s POV

I watched as she got down from the truck, her eyes taking in my Kingdom. Even though her pack was one of the packs at the borders of my Kingdom, I was sure she had never been in my kingdom, not to mention the Royal City.

She was gorgeous, and my eyes took in every movement of her body. It was like her every tune was a key that I was desperate to play.

But gorgeous wasn’t what I needed. I didn’t need someone with a killer face and body when the supernatural world was unstable and going through power struggles. I needed someone who could work with me to take on Dark shifters and witches who were trying to sneak into the Kingdom.

Yet, my wolf pined for her, pined terribly for the weak, starry-eyed girl who could do nothing. She called to me with pure and burning ferocity.

I was used to having control. Being in control of every damn thing, including my wolf and thoughts, but this girl right here that looked around cautiously as she entered the gate to the palace made me want to lunge at her and bury myself in her alluring and irresistible scent.

“Who is she?” Abel, my second brother’s voice rang out behind me. As my brother, I was very familiar with his scent, and so even though I had gotten lost in my thoughts from watching my mate, I knew the moment he climbed up the tower.

“One of the early tributes from the Boz Pack,” I reply, wondering where exactly this little princess intended to go.

“Tributes? Wasn’t the plan to take them out?”

“And why are we getting a princess as a tribute?” He added immediately.

His questions made me turn to look at him, dissatisfied that he was questioning my authority. However, my wolf lurches restlessly when I see the infatuation in his eyes as he gazes at my mate.

My mate.

I realise at that moment that I don’t know what her name is yet.

“And since when was that your call to make?” I question, my tone coming out harsher than I had intended.

Abel senses the hostility as he backs off with his hands raised.

“I don’t have a problem with that. I’m sure you must have your reasons for doing that.” He said sincerely, and I tried to calm my thoughts down.

Besides being brothers, Abel was my best friend.

“Especially not when the tribute is that hot,” Abel adds with a whistle, and I’m on him the next moment before I can blink.

“She’s mine, Abel. Don’t even dare to look at her.” I growl as I flung him to the side.

In a Kingdom full of horny wolves like mine, it would only bring me trouble if I allowed her to wander alone like that. I don’t even bother to look at Abel as I rush down to meet her.

That was enough sightseeing already.

For the past five years since I became the King Alpha, all my men had been anxious to have a Queen. The running of the Kingdom’s internal affairs had been left to some of the Lunas and female daughters of the largest packs in my Kingdom so that I could go about the important matters.

Abel also monitored things every now and then, but with how things were going, I was going to need him back on the team.

Yet, despite all these, the moon goddess had gone ahead to give me a mate that couldn’t even shift on her eighteenth birthday. If perhaps such drastic action like her pack being attacked hadn’t happened, would she have even gotten her transformation?

I hated that my wolf thought she was a perfect match, that it longed to mark his claim on her so the world could know she was for me.

“Where the hell did she walk off to?” I muttered as I looked around where I had seen her last.

In a place she hadn’t been before, you would expect that she would try to stay somewhere I could see her.

‘You left her alone,’ my wolf scolded angrily, and I was certain that if my control over Daiz hadn’t reached a peak level, it would have shifted at this very moment to find my mate.

I wonder what her name is at that moment as I catch a whiff of her scent. And I followed it carefully.

My brows arch in surprise when her scent grows stronger in front of Kern’s palace.

Kern was my youngest brother. The only one that was lucky enough to grow up normal. When tragedy had fallen on our family, Kern had been too young to understand what was happening.

But recently, things had been rocky between us, and he had moved out of the palace to an apartment right outside the palace gates.

I pushed away the thought of how Kern had been recently and focused on the scent that called to me. As my brother, I was very familiar with his scent, and he in no way smelt like a female despite his feminine features.

“Alpha”, a young wolf appeared in front of me, his face not visible with his head bowed low.

“Speak,” I commanded, anxious to get inside Kern’s house.

“First elder demands your presence.” He said, his voice shaky. Clearly, he knew how I would react to such a request.

“When I have some time, I’ll send for him,” I said dismissively. I didn’t get up to this point by bowing my head to just anyone.
