CHAPTER 9

Marcus grabbed the side of her head and slammed her into the ground. She gasped, her eyes fluttering shut. She moaned softly, "yes, alpha, that's what I like to see."

Marcus grabbed her long blond hair and pulled her up. Her lip was split, and a bruise was fast spreading across her face. Just as fast as it was appearing, it was disappearing. Her cheeks were flushed with arousal, her lips slightly parted. On a normal day, the sight would have pleased Marcus greatly.

All he could feel was disgust. He tossed her aside and rose from the bed. He took a shirt from his wardrobe and put it on.

"Who would believe you're so worked up about a maid?!" Susan scoffed, distaste in her voice. "She's just an easily replaceable doll, why are you so bothered about her?"

Marcus turned to her. "Bothered?! Susan, I think you have the wrong idea here. She ran away, and got away with it. Who does that?!"

Susan flashed him a look of disbelief. "It's more than that, and you know it."
