Chapter 18

SARAH

It's been close to a week now ever since that dreadful incident and indeed my life here has not been any better.

Emilio and I really did not see eye to eye throughout these trying days.

He always made sure to find a way to torture me daily and make life miserable.

If it wasn't yelling at me in the presence of the numerous staffs that worked here, it was forcing me to stay out in the cold or pouring food on me, denying me of my meals, seizing my phone at times, and the list went on and on.

Sometimes it still beats me on why he bought me if he was going to make hell out of my life.

I was better off without him in my life. I was better off living on the streets than this hell.

A lone tear trickled down my cheeks as I stared at the ceiling of my room in a daze, expecting everything to just be a nightmare and for me to wake up in the arms of my late parents.

If only wishes were horses, beggars would definitely ride.

Suddenly, a knock on the door chimed into my thoughts.
