Anderson in his current state was not thinking straight. From the moment the dread and realization dawned on him about the high chance of Carson dying at the hands of the young Mary, the cloud in his mind had slowly begun to spread. He may have not realized, but for a while the thoughts of protecting this family of his had slowly begun to replace the main ideology and aim of his survival.
