Ariana’s POV
“What the heck is going on back there?” Someone said from afar, but his voice was loud enough.“I thought all the students were here. Whose voice was that?” Another said.“You all should shift into your wolves and begin the run. The Alpha himself is coming to watch you, so you better impress him.” The first voice said. “Now let’s go over there and check who made that scream,” he continued.Hearing this, my heart thumped faster. I looked at Diana with bloodshot eyes. Even though I didn’t say a word, I hope my eyes had told her what she did was quite foolish.“Let’s go.” She said and started dragging me out of the building we were hiding over to the open field.“We are going to get caught,” I said terrifyingly. At this point, I was more bothered about getting caught than the pain I was engulfed in.“That’s expected. They will catch us anyway so it’s better to give them something convincing. You’ll have to thank me later.” She smirked and started dragging me until we were fully outside.Immediately, I spotted two teachers heading for us with angry faces. One was the math teacher who scolded me in his office, while the other was a woman I didn’t know.“Diana? Why are you attaching yourself to that worthless human?” He snapped, having a look of disgust on him.“Mr. Daniel, we…”“You what? Stop giving excuses and leave her this minute.” He sparked.“Wait, she’s hurt?” The other teacher said, examining my leg only for her to see blood dripping down, and it was twisted.“What happened?” She asked again while Mr. Daniel looked away like he didn’t care even a bit. What he was occupied with was staring daggers at Diana for clinging to me and refusing to let go.“When we heard the pack run had started we hurriedly followed this route since it was faster, but after jumping she had a misstep and fell on the wrong side,” Diana explained.“Is she that weak that she hasn’t healed yet? Why is it still twisted?” Mr. Dan sneered.“She just broke her knee. Even an Alpha will take a while to heal. Damn it!” Diana snapped back at him.I was caught in the middle of everything with my tongue tied down. All the hurtful words he shot at me without pulling punches were still drilling a hole in my heart. For some reason, he seemed to have hated me when it was the first day we had met.“Watch your tongue, Diana. Just because your dad is the Alpha, doesn't mean you get to talk to me how you want!” Daniel grumbled. His fist tightened like he would jump on her soon.“It’s okay, please Mr. Daniel.” The other teacher said before turning towards Diana and giving her a deadly glare. “You don’t talk to your teachers like that! Got it?” She snapped.“Yes. I am sorry.” Diana apologized.“Good. Now bring Ariana down to the shade. We will have the pack doctor take a look at her.” She said again worriedly.Just then, she felt like an angel to me. How I wish she was our math teacher, and Mr. Daniel here would be sacked. Still in my thoughts when another presence appeared before us with an aura that would burn a building down. All of us were jerked up and shivering. We turned back only to see it was Damien, standing shirtless.“What happened to my mate?” He grumbled, staring at all of us like he could eat us all up in one gulp.“Damien?” Daniel said, shivering. The kind of aura radiating off Damien was so terrifying. It wasn’t like any other wolf but that of an Alpha.“She’s hurt!” Diana replied.“Hurt?” Damien grumbled and made his way towards us. A grunting sound was still erupting from his lips as he reached for us, peeled me off Diana, and easily scooped me into his arms.“I will take care of her. She’s my mate.” He grunted and no one could say anything. Rather, they gulped down nothingness and dared not say anything.Even though Damien was also a student, the kind of aura he had made it seem like he was above them all.“Don’t worry, you are safe with me.” He said, pressing me tightly into his hard chest, and I was forced to inhale his cinnamon scent putting a stop to my senses.I couldn’t get enough of it. It was so enjoyable that I forgot my worries and could sleep in his arms, but I didn’t let the feeling get the best of me.“What’s going on? What is happening?” Darius came running at us.“It’s none of your business, brother. Go back to the pack run. I’ll help my mate recover.” Damien grumbled as he shot a glare at him and Darius who was worriedly coming was forced to halt.“Can’t I know what's wrong with her?” Darius sneered.“No! She’s my mate, not yours!” Damien grumbled and turned the opposite way. The incident with me had created a scene. Most students were in their wolf forms watching us, while some had shifted back to their human form and were now watching.I felt partially embarrassed, but with Damien by me, clinging to his chest, I didn’t have to look at them. My head was buried in his chest as I drowned in my worries while he leaped off somewhere.I didn’t even bother to look, as all I cared about was getting out of here.“It’s okay you. You can look up.” He said to me and I slowly pulled off his chest, and that was when I realized I had been clutching his arm tightly, yet he didn’t wince nor did he complain.Rather, he was looking unaffected by it and was even smiling. Our eyes locked, and gently he laid me on the bed.Looking around I found myself in a very vast room that had expensive fittings compared to the one I was staying in. We were both students, and yet, he was living in a place like this? Was it because he was an Alpha that was why he was treated differently in this pack?“You haven’t healed yet? What’s going on?” His voice pulled me out of my daze and I shivered, looking at him.ArianaI didn't know how to tell him. He was already sensing that something was wrong. I was in serious pain and I kept praying to the goddess that the secret I was trying so hard to keep was kept safe. I tried to make up scenarios in my head where I had to with the lies I had decided to tell. It means everything to me that I have found my mate. Everything felt like it made sense. It was meaningful to me that I had the person, I was going to spend the rest of my life with. "I asked a question." His voice was a little darker. I could sense his worry. "Yeah, I haven't been feeding well because you know, I had work to do. The lack of nutrients affects my healing most of the time."He narrows his eyes at me. "I don't get it. That shouldn't be a problem.""I don't understand." I pretended. I faked my confusion. "As werewolves, we have to eat. It is a necessity that always has control over us because of our animalistic side. You lacking nutrients isn't just right because as a wolf you ha
Damien pov"Who the hell told you that?" I growled. As the son of the Alpha, all my life I have tried to navigate the rumours that are mostly thrown at me. Some I know of others I do not know of. It was crazy to think about it but I never knew that attitude was always going to follow me. Even in this school where I had just come to study. .my vision was blaring red, I wanted to know the asshole that has chosen to ridicule me to my mate.It was surprising that someone had already come to let her know all of these things, especially when I had just found out about her after a few hours. "Answer me, Ariana or I would not take it likely with you?" I gritted. "Is it that bitch?" "I would take anything from you but I would not be able to Take that kind of insult towards my friend." I wasn't going to take back what I had said because I knew just how much of a bitch she was. She has always acted shady towards me but I haven't been able to give her the attention that she so craved. It was
Damien povI tried to talk her into studying but she had other plans. I was angry due to the fight I had with Darius. Everything was already tumbling down and my wolf kept growling in pain and jealousy. I wanted to beat the hell out of that asshole and make him confess the truth. I had never seen Darius so invested in someone's wellbeing before and what made it more suspicious was the fact that Ari was involved. I followed her back into my room."You are still very sick and your leg is not fully healed. At least give yourself time to heal before doing anything else." I tried to talk to her as she limped across the room looking for her belongings. "This happened in the infirmary, where you disrespect everyone due to your behaviour. The moment they are close to le, it becomes a problem. Now, this is your brother for heaven's sake if you were willing to beat his sorry ass just because he was sitting close to me when I was asleep. Damien, that isn't nice. I don't even know what to make o
Ariana povI knew I loved him but I was happy he left. Sometimes his possessiveness wasn't a good attraction. Then, no one had it complete. There was always going to be a flaw. One of the flaws I was having was my deceit. It wasn't something I was proud ifofut it was necessary.Damien never hid what he felt for me, I loved that even amid all the cruelty we have been facing lately. I hated that because he was an Alpha blood there were certain standards he had to meet. He had to be wearing the best clothes, living in the best house and hanging out with a certain kind of folks. It was annoying that he wasn't allowed to do something that might give him the happiness he needed. I was still trying to find out why being with me was shocking to them. Was I much of a low life? Was I that invisible? I smoothened my forehead with my fingers, my head was aching due to all the thinking and stress. The sedative was supposed to help me but it only increased my tiredness. I exhaled when Diana walk
Darius POVI hated arguing with Damien. He meant everything to me.My mind flashed back to when we were kids, how he always stood with and for me. It was always the best feeling knowing that he was there with me. There was peace in that even when it seemed that everyone hated me. Well, not everyone. Of all the girlfriends he has ever had. Ariana was the most mature and was very different. Her smile towards me was a kind gesture. Everything in between, for the first time in a long while, I felt seen.I was treated like a human being. Nothing else mattered. There was no snide comment against me that might make me feel worthless. Instantly, my heart went out to her. I knew I could keep her as a friend, but my brother's insecurity always got in the way of things, so I had to check my boundaries. Boundaries are important. I needed to respect his territories. I felt slightly hurt each time he brought the case up because I felt he wasn't supposed to run it in. I had dealt with that but I c
ArianaAfter Diana was in conversation Damien the previous day, they laughed so much. I was so happy that they had reconciled. I hated that i had to be in the middle of a squabble. Their contention was tiring me out and every time i thought about it it drained me. I was not a piece of hand me down clothes that you have to fight over.m or to get my attention. It became embarrassing. It was clear that he was in a good mood. It showed that he had a good moment with his brother. That was what I loved to believe. But after he had noticed that Darius had called me, I didn't know what to think any more. "What's bothering you?" Diana saw me lost in thought."Darius called.""Great, what does he want?" "He just wanted to check on me. He also offered to help me out with my assignments in school tomorrow.""Okay, go on…" Diana became impatient."I heard Damien in the background asking who he was talking to. You know how he gets and i fear they might actually be arguing over something senseles
Ariana POVWe sat down on my bed staring at one place for the past thirty minutes. My heart kept racing like I had done something wrong. I tried to think of anything to say but my words failed me. I didn't know why he was this silent, probably something else set him off. When I tried to think about it, I didn't exactly do anything wrong."You've been here and you haven't said a word." "I don't know, do I have to say something? Or maybe you have something to tell me." My mind flashed in different variations. Was he talking about Darius or something else? After emptying my stomach at the gym, I wasn't ready to be upset, I just wanted to relax my eyes and my sore bones. I wasn't ready for another fight or any secret leaking. That was what I was most worried about. There was no telling how he would react."I wish I knew what you were talking about. I wouldn't know if you don't tell me.""Good." Damien shuffled in his seat. "What were you and Darius talking about?" I let out a small sigh
Ariana POV"What are you doing?!" I yelled. "Put me down!" My struggles were futile."Ssh. It is late, you will wake the others living here." He said seriously. I was hanging upside down on his shoulders. The light that filled my eyes, suddenly dimmed into the blue darkness. "Put me down, please." "As you wish my lady." He said dropping me heavily on the bed. "Ouch!" I held my head. His bed was indeed a little bit strong. "That was not nice." My voice was muffled as the pain relieved himself a little bit more. "I was only obeying your wishes." He shrugged. "Just as I did before when you wanted to sleep in a separate room. That was not nice."Damien climbed the bed, his eyes were bare without his glasses. He had a predatory gaze, which made me scared at first. He started crawling from my feet to meet me at the crown of his bed. My heart started racing. "What are you doing?" Swallowing down my saliva. "You wanted to know If someone was sharing my bed tonight. Now, you've seen th
