Chapter 47: The Little Sprite is Unhappy

As Bella was once again summoned to Devon's office, she truly felt that her life was full of twists and turns. She had expected a leisurely life of sitting back and relaxing after leaving her job, but it seemed like someone always had to disrupt her peace. At this moment, she imitated Calvin's expression of indifference as she watched Devon furrow his brows in deep thought. She couldn't understand why he was troubled over someone who was about to leave the company like her.

After a while, Devon seemed to adjust his mood, and his expression softened. However, the chaotic desk and scattered files on the floor still revealed the turmoil in his mind. He must have just had a heated argument with Emily and called her in without even tidying up.

"Mr. Devon, you wanted to see me," Bella said when Devon remained silent, prompting her to speak up.

Devon sighed deeply, rubbing his forehead with fatigue evident on his face. "Bella, I think you should understand that Emily's animosity towards y
