Fourteen

Sally's POV

During the first week and a half of my stay in town, my grandparents showed me around town. Although I vaguely remembered a few places from when I was a child, they still made an effort to show the area. Now, I only have a few days to spend with them before returning to my cold, harsh life.

Along with our stops at coffee shops, and bookstores... people never missed bowing in respect and gratitude to my grandparents, which completely amazed me.

My grandparents must have been the healers here at that time, for everyone to appreciate them. Yes, they have the respect of the townspeople but at the same time, people fear them, not that they care. I can also say that not many people know who I lived with after my parents passed away.

“Sally,” my grandmother called, standing next to the oranges she was about to buy. I hummed in response.

"We'll take you out tonight. We have a gathering to attend." She said excitedly. "Wear something nice."
