CHAPTER 2

❤ALPHA LORCAN'S POINT OF VIEW❤

The war was at its peak. My Vaughan Pack was under attack by the rogues, it's quite often when it's come to get under attack by those shitty rouges. Being the Alpha of the deadliest pack I've been known for killing and cutting the throats of all those who came into my way of expanding my territory and power. However, those rouges still have the guts to face me only to die by my hands.

While cutting their throats I feel so exciting, it's my favorite thing to see when someone screams in fear of me more than pain.

My pack gets under attack in the morning and now it's dark. The purple and black of the night was so smoothing to take some rest under the clearance of shinning starry sky only if it weren't because of this war.

Rogues kept emerging out of the trees, snarling and growling until they were surrounding me. My men fought them hard and with more force than I could ever imagine but they were vastly outnumbered and I could only see this going one way.

I fought through what had become a battlefield, defending us both from approaching attackers. One I kicked in the stomach so hard that he flew back and hit a tree, his body instantly turning limp, another I slashed across the throat with a knife, blood spurting everywhere. I have spent half of my life killing and winning territories after knowing that my mate has been killed by the rouges. I couldn't but kill all of those rouges until now.

I've been killing them for God knows how long and I smelled a mesmerizing scent. Jasmine and choco. The scent I would never forget. The scent that I spent the past ten years searching for. The scent that kept me going this whole time.

'Mate. Go get a mate.' I heard my wolf howl and was so close to coming out and of course, he didn't have to tell me twice. I immediately darted towards the forest and started sniffing for her scent. I could feel my Beta, Vincent, run after me to protect me from the attack of rouges who keep coming out of the dark.

"Alpha what's wrong?" I heard my beta ask as he scanned the surrounding for any danger.

"Mate," I growled loudly. I was getting anxious each second. She was here, and I don't plan on losing her again after I have finally found her.

"Mate? Oh my boy, finally, congratulations." I heard his happy voice but I couldn't care about congratulations now, it was still early. My eyes were scanning everyone in the forest but no results, she wasn't there. My wolf and I grew more impatient. I sniffed for her scent again and started walking. I was heading towards the darker forest and I heard the crouching of the autumn leaves.

"Mate," I growled again with my wolf and I'm sure my eyes were black now. I follow the voice it was coming from another side of the boundary of my territory. It was the safe side, no one could pass through that side, not even rouges.

I followed the sound and saw a girl standing there and was scanning the surrounding. She was a stranger but not to me. She is my mate. The mate whom I've been searching for. The mate who I know was killed by the rogues is not standing in front of me, alive.

I was staring at her when I heard Footsteps approach me as I stood back up narrowly avoiding another knife. Footsteps belonging to the rouges. I didn't have time to process what was going on before three more footsteps came out of the forest and another knife. I ran towards my mate and pulled her to the side as the arrow pierced through the spot she was standing on. The men were coming from three different directions. I stood back to back with her as we slowly rotated,

keeping my eyes on the three terrifying-looking men. I grabbed one of the knives out of a tree and threw it straight at the closest rouge. It hit him in the center of the chest and he fell to the ground, still alive, but hardly.

I covered my mate's mouth to stop her from making any sound or she would get into danger. When I covered her mouth she struggled to get herself free from my grip. She was scratching and pulling my hand to leave her but I didn't and I dragged her back with me in my territory to hide her behind the trunk of a tree. Soon after she stopped struggling and her movement stopped which made me panic to look at her.

Her eyes were closed. Her body was limped in my arms. What happened to her? It took me moments to let the scene sink into my mind.

There she was, my mate, lying in my arms, wearing nothing but rags. One of her cheeks was blue and her lip was bleeding I saw that one of her hands was bent at a weird angle and I knew it was broken.

Without a second thought, I ran my fingers through her hair and pulled her between my arms. She was bony and her skin was cold, her heartbeat was very slow and she was barely breathing.

I couldn't help the tears that escaped my eyes at the image of my mate. Please stay with me, please. I can't lose her, again. I just can't.

"What happened to her?" It was from Vincent, my beta. He asked looking down at her but I didn't answer him.

"Put her on my back, I'll run to our territory. I'll come back after making sure she's safe and tell Taylor to distract the rogues." I told my beta through our mind link. He nodded and I shifted into my wolf and he placed her carefully on my back.

"Be careful, alpha." Came the reply from my beta. And I wasted no time and started running out of the packhouse. I noticed my Beta had shifted and he's now running next to make sure that my mate remained on my back and did not fall.

It took us about an hour or so to reach my father's house and with every move, I made I could hear my mate groan in pain. It broke my heart every time, but I had to be quick to save her.

I kicked the house door open and called my mother who happens to be a doctor as well, through our mind link.

"Over here." I heard her saying from her room. When I reached there I saw that she was standing next to the bed, preparing some tools and setting a bag of blood above it. My parents and my Beta was presented there. Together, they carefully carried my mate from my back and placed her on the bed.

"What the hell happened to her?" I heard my mother say as she looked at my mate's body. Her skin was so pale, and scars covered her from head to toe. Her fingernails were turning purple and she felt so cold. Her lips were also discolored and were cracked open. It was hard to look at her without wanting to kill someone. Why would anyone hurt her? Where were her parents? Did they know about this?

My mother started working on her. She removed all her 'clothes' if you could call them that, and I had to suppress the growl that was about to escape my throat at the idea that someone was torturing her to the extent where her body is giving up.

"You should go and finish the war with rogues and then you can come to stay by her side. She'll need your support to get through this." I heard my mom say and I noticed that I'm still in my wolf form. I hesitated. I looked at my mate's body, then to my mother, then to her body again. I didn't want to leave her, not for a second.

My mom noticed my discomfort as she sighed and said, "Don't worry Lorcan, I'm right here and your father and Vincent are just outside this door. Plus, you end the war won't take much time."

I nodded and made my way to my room. I made my way back to the war area and then started slicing and dicing the rogues but this time with more anger. 'Will she be okay?' I heard Leo, my wolf ask as I grabbed a rogue who was trying to jump off me.

"Yes, Leo she will be. She has to be." I said, reassuring myself more than reassuring him. I finished twisting his neck and wasted no time heading back Home."How is she, mother?" I asked as I opened the door and entered.

My mother sighed. "She's hurt pretty badly. She is underweight, has lost too much blood, and is in terrible pain. See this." she said as she pointed to her hip on the right. There were so many bruises on her body. "This here." she continued, is only about two days old, but look at the color and the size, even a normal human would heal at least ten percent but her body is too weak to even heal itself at least at a normal rate. I had no other choice but to inject her with the Dezal potion."

"But will she be able to endure it? It's too strong for her, she might die.." I panicked to know that my mother has no other choice but to inject her with a magic potion that was gifted by the moon goddess to the ancestors. It works on the right quantity of how many drops some have taken, only two drops could save a life but if someone takes it in the wrong proportion, they could die because it's strong as poison. Incorrect words, my mate could die if she couldn't endure it and in her condition, I don't think she might be able to endure it.

Dezal is a very strong drug that we use only in severe cases. It helps relieve our pain almost instantly and with the help of our wolves, heal us. However, it has some side effects, as far as killing someone.

"And that's why I need your blood." I looked at her confused and when I didn't say anything she explained.

"As you have already noticed Lorcan, your mate is an Omega and Omega are humans, although they have their wolves they cannot shift into one. And then the drug needs werewolf blood to work properly and hence the use of yours. And since you're an alpha and her mate so her body will respond better to the drug."

What my mom told me clenched my heart. Just because my mate is an Omega she was treated so badly. In our realm when everyone can enjoy their lives, omegas are prohibited to enjoy their lives, they say it's rare to be an Omega but they are bounded to be ill-treatment by others just because they don't have their own wolf, they cannot shift into one so they are treated as slaves, although my pack doesn't follow such ridiculous rules or treat someone's life as garbage but out there, in other packs this tradition is going on.

Even in my pack, some have omega slaves but they don't treat them so badly. I know I will be judged by other packs Alphas to have an Omega as my mate but it doesn't matter as long as she stays by my side.

Now that I think about it, yeah, she smelled human and had no traces whatsoever that she has a wolf. It's not like I care. She's my mate and I love her no matter what she is. But this thing makes me worry about her more as I have heard some of the cases in my territory where Omega gets murdered by others because they smelled like humans and wolves think of them as rogues.

I jerked off these thoughts and I nodded my head and lifted my jumper’s sleeve. My mate needed my blood and I'm more than willing to give it to her. My mother gives me a knife and I don't hesitate to cut my hand with it to give my blood to her. I parted the lips of my mate and began to let her drink my blood. I stayed like this, looking at her as her bruises started fading. Her skin started glowing but she doesn't open her eyes.

"That's good Lorcan. We gave her a sufficient amount of your blood, plus the other three bags I already gave her she will heal properly." I sighed in relief but knew that it couldn't be happy just yet, no with my mate still unconscious.

I felt my mom tap me lightly on the shoulder. "Good job son, your mate will be fine." She said with a smile on her face. I couldn't help but smile back. "I'm taking her into my room?" I told my mom. It would be better if she lied on a more comfortable bed, stayed right next to me where it can always be with her.

"Yes, you can take her to your room but make sure you give her enough of your blood so that she will be fine soon." She said and I nodded making my way upstairs.

This is so hard to read and jumps from one thing to the next. How did this get a ‘10’ rating??? Just as well it’s free to read right now
