SUNDAY MORNING.
I didn’t get any sleep at all. Not even forty winks. I just gloomily stared at the drawn draperies with the ray of sunlight.
Mom has been visiting me from time to time, rapping at my door, asking me to let her come in. I’m skipping meals and ignoring messages from Liam and my best friends.
Today was supposed to be my whole week’s convalescence. I tried to fight the urge to stay in my room all day. But the chains are indestructible and my room won’t let me leave, like asking for a company.
In twilight, I gathered an infinitesimal bandwidth to stand up and fixed my flyaway hair. Normally, I would always wash my face up with soap but water isn’t even enough to ablute this lingering feeling of turmoil.
I wasn’t expecting some great news today, nor someone who would drop by to cure this ailment of despondency.
Then, suddenly, a pinged from doorbell emerged, expecting it would be from Liam, Blake, or Ashton. Or worse, from Dad.
To my surprise, it’s Jake, clad in a maroon varsity jacket, black gym shorts, exposing his beefy legs and thighs, and a duffle bag hanging from his shoulder.
“Wow! Your house looks amazing from the outside,” said he.
I love to look at Jake’s eyes when I’m talking to him. His green forestry eyes alleviate the wisps of smoke and doubts swimming in my vision. Their family is the literal definition of godly beauty.
“What are you doing here?” I asked wondering.
“Liam asked me to pay you a visit on his behalf.”
Jake ambled towards his raven land rover jeep to reveal a score of fresh red roses interspersed in a beautiful configuration and a greeting letter above the juts of the flowers that says:
“I’m sorry I can’t be there with you today babe. I wish I was there with you, to hug you and kiss you.
Your love,
Liam”
Nobody can change my mind that Liam raise the bar of being the best boyfriend in the world. I’m not exacting for attention since Liam is also a busy guy but he makes stupendous amount of effort just to make me happy.
“Liam is with father today. Out of town. Doing some business matters,” Jake articulated.
I gave a half-smile and agreeable nod as Jake handed me over the roses.
“I’ve got to go now. I still must meet up with someone tonight,” Jake said smiling.
“Going on a date?” I teased.
I’m trying to narrow down the best possible activities that Jake could do on a Sunday night and a passionate dinner with a comely lady, as classy as him, befits his character.
“You’re completely mistaken. I beg to differ,” he said guffawing, his hand on his stomach.
“Okay then. You take care and thank you for wasting your time on me,” I replied humorously.
He took off and bid his cordial goodbye once again in his moving car.
I’m a deep-dyed fan of romantic movies and I couldn't believe that my time has come to become the lead of my own. Never in my wildest dreams could I ever imagine.
Thank you, Jake, deeply, for being the best fairy grandmother that I could ever have.
The sweet gesture took the pain away and I started to become vigorous again. I placed the torn-pruned roses on a transparent vase with a half-filled water lodged in the living room. I stared at it for an unhealthy amount of time and decided to open my phone, combing the messages one by one.
Slew of messages from Liam rallied me again, giving me butterflies.
“I miss you babe. I miss your velvety lips against mine.”
“I hope you’re doing fine today. Call me back as soon as possible.”
“I hope you loved the roses that I sent you. I’ll let Jake deliver it to you since he’s a florist at heart and he knows more about anthology than his half-brother".
“I miss holding your soft hands and I miss seeing your sweet laughter. I love you to the moon and back.”
Unbeknownst to Liam’s knowledge, I was having a demanding time today and it made me grateful to have someone who make my darkest days bearable.
I attempted to call him back, but he never picked up.
It is 6:48 in the evening. The pale moon started to radiate an ivory glow.
I was planning to have a nightly walk since mom is too zoned out, calling with his new boyfriend. I still must simmer down to neutralize my mercurial emotional status. I need to find my center.
And so, without a solid plan, I drove my way out of the house, and found myself wandering at the BNL mall. My premier reason that I travelled all the way here is to pamper myself with an ice-cold cup of frothy chocolate milkshake and warm bunch of newly-dredged oily fries.
Before I could even get inside the establishment, I saw Jake and a gaggle of boys huddled in the tenebrous part of the parking lot.
Jake’s acting odd around them and he started sweeping his eyes in the parking lot, like he was hiding something. I stood behind the car, six cars away from mine, barricading myself from their sight, investigating a little.
Then, what followed next shocked me.
Jake stealthily handing these hooligans a white compressed pack of sugar-like products inside in his duffle bag. Is he dealing drugs?! Does Liam know?!
How is this possible? He is too innocent to do something illicit like this.
I watched them go, one after another, and Jake, frantically, went inside his jeep, revved the car, like nothing happened.
Should I tell Liam about Jake’s cloak-and-dagger venture? It could sully their reputations as a Chivec. What if someone is using Jake to smuggle drugs?
This matter-of-fact could maim the relationship of Liam and Jake, out and out.
There is a lot on the line here. Their lives could have a dire turnaround, and I do not want that to happen to Jake, especially to Liam.
Perhaps I'm just hungry, seeing ghosts, and seeing things.
But I pinched myself, with my fingernails, until I saw blood dribbling around my forearm, and it made me moan in pain.
This is so not happening!
MONDAY DAYSPRING.I rouse myself around 6 A.M., Liam texted me:“See you later at school, babe. Cannot wait for your soft lips and sweet moans.”Liam made me bite my lips just by sending me thirsty letters. This text is an understatement of him wanting you to do something bad to him. We will, he is definitely aroused after his dingy faring with his dad.He is sure jet-lagged from his itinerary yesterday. So, I implored myself to bake him some homemade brownies, to complement his espresso at Frankfurt’s.I arrived at the usual spot where Liam’s having his hearty breakfast. My conjecture was right, he looked bone-tired. I am responsible for Liam’s health, just like when he sent me those red roses. His lips, still as soft as cotton candy, when we kissed and his ocean blue eyes st
We materialized at the police station, where Jake’s being held off, half an hour later after we absorbed the affair. The foreground was seething with variegated news broadcasting station. We tried to keep our faces off the radar by having our hood above our heads. Liam tightened his grip on my hands as we passed by the curious media. He was uptight and furious at the same time.I can hear the wind moaning on our east, mixed with the pandemonium of crews and journalists who’s impatiently waiting for Jake to come out the station.I heard that he was being bailed out by Aries, while the remaining arrested were still incarcerated and to be judged by the Supreme Court later next week. Then, the flicking and flashes of cameras started to play a strobing spectacle in the middle of the moonless night. Jake was rushing, mortified of the possibility of tarnishing his dad’
This feels sinful but right at the same time. I put down the glass of water on the countertop. I was moaning as Caleb’s lips feast on my neck and collar bones. I was too caught up that I didn’t notice it was Caleb’s bare chest pressing on my back. The smell of Caleb arouses me and puts me under a lusty spell. Feels like I was levitating, transporting me into a sacred oasis. He started untying my robe after he unbuckles his belt pants. I can feel Caleb’s wholeness behind rubbing against me.He flipped me around, then carried me up the countertop, groaning my name. He pinned my hands above my head and coercively wrapped both my legs around his muscular waist. He started groping my chest with his tongue trailing from my mouth down to my breast.I wanted to stop him, but he’s so deft at making me not to say no with my concupiscence for him.
Be thankful or not. Be thankful or not. Be thankful or not. This phrase kept rewinding over my head as I try to make a straight eye contact with dad. His place looks rundown with the wallpapers barely sticking on the walls, hanging for their lives. The tiling screams for replacement, water pipes to the fore of the wall, and a defunct hanging clock that seems more like an embellishment rather than a useful instrument. Not to mention the noisy neighbors having a spat at the adjoining room.“How are you darling?” he said coolly.I can feel pity, anger, and gratefulness all at the same time. He’s a trainwreck and I have a lot of pointed questions that I needed answer.“Thank you for saving me last night,” I answered plainly. That’s the only sincere respond that I’m going to give him. I don’t want to discredit his valiant effort though t
Liam’s dream career is within his arm’s reach. His Holy Grail sitting in the room where he’s in. His closed-up radiant façade moved the hearts of millions of viewers. What ensues is carved in stone. I wish he was singing to me.Saturday Morning.Today was Liam’s awaited audition for a nightly telecasted singing competition. He must feel very excited. It has always been his focal point ever since he was a kid.I’ll have my uneventful day with open arms, for I want to stay at home all day long. Play with Kit, who grew advanced of his time. Taught him a few tricks and I’m proud to say, he’s a fast-learner.I did my laundry earlier than I scheduled it every weekend and centered at my assignments that are due next week.Mom completely conceded to skip a Movie night for Liam. Even if I already told her about our split u
Midterms is just around the corner. I was busy scribbling notes for the upcoming examinations and frequently hang-out with my classmates after class for a group study. Midterms is on the top of my triage, crucial to passing this school year.I provoked and disciplined myself to study harder every time a general examination is in the offing, brewing. So, Liam and I have had lesser time to meet with each other, especially after his successful performance at the Brussels Idol.Speaking of rendezvous, dad’s checking up on me from now and then, by inviting me to have meals over at his apartment, in which I appreciate a lot.Needless to say, I’m not a fast learner, but I was able to dominate the prelims without a hitch. It’s just that I aim to retain my consistency.SATURDAY MORNING.Elijah and I decided to devote our time studying the whole day at their house. No time for procrastinating, literally, no time to waste.Elijah&rsqu
SATURDAY NIGHT. THE SAME DAY.Mom wouldn’t be at home tonight, or if she did, she’ll be no later than midnight. As a fail-safe, I rambled around the boulevard a little bit and ended up having supper at a famous fast food chain near my campus. The fast food is in full house as usual, never innocent of patrons. Dining crews streaked across the place like birds, but in an organized manner. The store’s closing is around 10 p.m. and I only have one hour left to chomp my all-time favorite unctuous quarter-pound patty cheese burger.I parroted back my conversation with Elijah inside my head when an eccentric crew, who’s covering his identity with his cap’s visor, loomed at my eating spot. He handed me a plastic cup of chocolate vanilla sundae with a mischievous grin.“This is a limited-time promo for our special customers,” he said half-smiling.His voice sounded neighborly to my ears, but still vague. I can
We’re halfway passed the school year in sophomore and all I can say thus far is that I’m about to be burned out. The endless list of activities, the surprise quizzes, and brutal examinations. In addition, the short-tempered and fly-by-night professors and the list goes on and on.College is an uphill battle and all the warriors fighting to climb and reach their coveted bachelor’s degree deserves a carte blanche. That’s why a semester break is a reasonable ice-breaker, giving the students to shift their focus away from school matters and get a leg up.My fortnight semester break last year is quite a story. I spent most of my time in the house in solitary, with Mom exiled in a mental facility. I worked part-time jobs at a restaurant as a kitchen crew and worked my fingers to the bone for an extra-income, which explained some minor callouses and scars on my hands. I disciplined myself personally, which propelled me to do even more in life.M
