JOSHUA’S POV
“It could affect her in the future, not all the power in the seal was removed and she could have issues controlling her power in the future.” I murmured and Xander nodded.
“Traces of the Seal still linger on her and like you said, it could possibly affect her in the future. However, this might be a good thing. If we are able to determine the origin of the seal while it is still on her, we will be able to remove the rest of its traces. But for now, Miss Aileen will have to live with the rest of the seal with you there to protect her when the need arises.” Ryan walked forward to cover Aileen with the blanket. When he went to her, however, he saw that she was wide awake and was staring at him with her blue eyes. In shock, Ryan stepped back but he soon composed himself very quickly, the surprise that was etched on his face had disappeared.
“Miss Aileen, you’re awake.” Immediately he said that, I stood up from my chair and went to her side, her drowsy eyes turned to me and I smiled, “You are awake, you have done well Aileen.”
“Water… I need water.”

AUTHOR’S POV
“Master, to the west, about ten kilometers from here another werewolf has awakened. It might be her.”
Within the shadows, a man, tall and handsome chuckled deeply. His thin lips opened slightly to speak and a rough nasal voice asked, “Is that so? Is she taken?”
“Yes. She seems to be the mate of someone else, however, that person did not leave a trace and no matter how much I searched, I could not find his whereabouts. He must be someone powerful.”
“Hmm…” This person had a very calm voice; he wore a white fox mask that only covered only half of his face and revealed his beautiful lips and half of his nose and he also looked a bit tan. Compared to the person who reported to him, his skin was like that of a new born baby, smooth and very shiny. He stood up from the chair he sat on and slowly walked towards where the other man stood. Carefully tapping the man’s shoulders, he stood behind him and slightly touched his neck. His long fingers traced a line around the man’s neck.
Unsuspecting, the man tilted his head to allow the masked man more access as he asked, “Master? Is something… Ugh!” The man spat out blood, his eyes wide as he fell to the ground. The masked man had killed his spy. The masked man wiped his hands on the now dead man’s clothes; he walked forward, his eyes on someone who was standing behind the shadows.
“Take care of the body. We will be leaving to the next city in a few days’ time.” The masked man said and another person who was behind the shadows nodded, his purple eyes fixed on the dead body that was on the ground. This man has always been cruel. But, it is for a good cause.
“Yes, Master.” They would leave this dark place and officially, their quest would begin.

AILEEN’S POV
“Drink slowly; there is more water if you want.” The old man who fed me water said, he carefully patted me on my back as I coughed while drinking water. I was shocked by how readily he touched me and even more shocked that I didn’t feel revolted or disgusted. Did this have to do with the fact that we are both alike? I remembered that the moment I woke up, the first thing I asked of was water and I didn’t find it funny because as someone who had not drank water for a while, my throat was so dry so could someone tell me the reason why this man here was laughing?
Once I was done with the water, the old man took the glass cup away from me and stepped away, he even bowed to me a little. I was confused but I didn’t say anything, I wanted to know what was going on and who these people were. I recognized Xander, I also recognized the silver eyes man and I knew for a fact that he was my mate but what I wanted to know who he truly is. I opened my mouth to speak.
"Who are you?" I asked with cracked and soft voice. I was sure that screamed during my transformation, even the water could not actually make my throat clear.
"I…" The silver eyes man started but the old cleared his throat, interrupting silver eye’s incoming words. Bowing slightly, the old man stated his name and position.
"My name is Ryan and I am the butler of this mansion. Miss Aileen, before we begin an explanation, would you mind if you eat something? You have just awoken and your body is very weak." His voice was respectful but at the same time, it was forceful.
I knew that he would keep on asking me if I didn't agree to eat and I am pretty hungry at the moment so why would I refuse. In a way, he was the same as Xander.
"Your food will be brought to you in a moment." Ryan smiled and went out of the room, leaving only silver eyes and Xander who stood quietly in the room. Silver eyes was still staring at me, he didn’t even care to hide it. I turned my gaze to Xander and although I wanted to speak with him; to exchange pleasantries, his eyes told me not to say anything and to just wait for Ryan to come back.
I wondered why but there wasn’t anything I could say about it so I just conceded. A few moments later, Ryan came back with rare steak and some other fruits. I sighed in relief, even though I had thoroughly enjoyed the food Xander cooked for me last time, I had only meat and no vegetables or even fruits and I loved eating fruits so I was a bit sad.
“Please enjoy your meal.” He served me and shifted back. They all watched as I stuffed my mouth but they didn’t say anything and neither did I care. I was hungry, and that was all that mattered. Once I finished eating, the table was cleared and I was finally ready to listen to everything that happened to me.
I crossed my arms and asked with a stern face, “Now does anyone want to tell me what the heck is going on?”
“Well, I believe Xander has explained some things to you when he first came to visit you? I didn’t want to come myself so I would not overwhelm you with loads of information. I didn’t expect that you would be able to transform so quickly.” Silver eyes said to me as he dragged his chair to sit so close to me and looked me directly in the eye. “You still don’t know how to control your appendages; they’re wagging like you just finished having a treat.” Silver eyes teased me and I blushed, that was foul! How could he compare me to a dog, I was a wolf! A beautiful silver wolf! I had noticed my silver tail when I was eating earlier but I just chose not to mention it. “That day, at the forest, when we first met, you suddenly disappeared. Like, you vanished without any trace; it took a long time before Xander was able to find you. If it wasn’t for the scent you left on the both of us, we would have been unable to track you.” “Okay… I understand but what does that have to do with what is hap
“Can you sense it? Think of the power that coils itself around your heart as a vine, yet this vine does not have thorns." Joshua’s voice swept around my ears like a hungry flame, it was deep and controlling. I gave a satisfied nod; I could, in fact, perceive the force that he was referring to. It pulsated and flowed around my heart like a fish swimming around a pond. It gave out an icy and peaceful vibe, as if it were something that was not meant to be touched. "Take command of it and shape it according to your whims, for your power was created specifically for you to exercise command over it. If you allow it to run uncontrolled, it could put the people around you in risk and, as a result, hurt you as well." Joshua tapped me on the shoulders with the handle of the knife that he was holding. It was a bit uncomfortable though, the cold knife he held, if it was before, I would have welcomed the coldness, but I didn’t anymore. But still, I followed what he said. ‘Tried’ to follow would
AUTHOR’S POV Two days after Joshua and the rest had the conversation, Joshua offered to take Aileen out as she had been in the mansion for a couple of days, without having seen anyone apart from them. "Are you all set?" Joshua asked as he got off the couch, moved closer to her, and offered his hand to her to hold. Aileen placed her hands in Joshua's while she eyed him, but he only smiled and proceeded to twirl one of his fingers around her palm before completely encasing her’s with his large hands. Aileen had seen that Joshua has a strange fondness for holding her hands, and she has to admit that she finds this endearing. "Where are you guys heading to?" Xander inquired, and Ryan also displayed an expression of interest, regarding the plans that they had together. Joshua grinned as he gazed up at the enormous ceilings and said with a chuckle to Aileen, "Since we've been stuck in here for a while, I'd like to take her on a tour of the city. We won't stay out for too long." Aileen's a
AUTHOR'S POV "Are you telling me that I can have this car? You've got to be kidding, right?" Joshua shrugged and put one of his arms on the steering wheel. As he did this, Aileen saw the veins that ran through his arms. Aileen continued to stare at Joshua. Aileen had noticed this when she first saw Joshua's upper body while he was training her, but she would never stop being surprised by his body type and structure. Joshua had a physical shape called an hour glass, which was unusual to see in men at the time. His defined muscular frame and chiseled chest matched his broad shoulders and sculpted arms, which were all hallmarks of his physique. His waist was tight and slender, and it gently transitioned into a toned abdomen, which combined to form a visually pleasing and stunning man. He would be the envy of a great number of guys and perhaps some women. "Are you satisfied with what you see? It will be yours going forward, so you can look at it whenever and whenever you choose; but, w
AUTHOR'S POV "Well, that forest we went to on the way here was just a diversion; the place I was really bringing you is here." Joshua parked the car in front of a massive club that was blasting music quite loudly. Because everything was so loud, Aileen immediately grimaced and covered her ears, but Joshua slowly removed her hands from her ears and held it in his. The heat from his palms enveloped her hands. "It is better to get used to it because then you will be able to associate different sounds with what they truly are." "What exactly do you mean?" Aileen tried to ask a question, but someone cut her off. As Aileen studied him, she noticed the black ears on top of his head twitching against his black outfit. The guy was aware that she was staring at him, so he gave her a tiny bow. When he raised his head again, he had a grin on his lips, and his adorable fangs were visible. "I'll be back in a few hours; in the meantime, you can take care of the car." Joshua gave over the keys to
AILEEN’S POV "Whoa… This spot is stunning; I don’t know how I could have missed it all these years that I stayed here." I breathed in the scent of the clean river and the forest that was some miles away from us. It was a good thing that we chose to come to this place, the smell of alcohol, of sex and everything that was in between burned my nose. I held onto the railings as I raised my head and closed my eyes, I listened to the wind and thought about everything that had happened. The burden that had been weighing on my heart for a prolonged amount of time was finally lifted when I transformed into a werewolf. It had been a very long time since I was able to experience this kind of freedom, this liberty at being myself. I suddenly turned to Joshua who had been staring at me, I felt his eyes but I chose to ignore it. "You haven't been to this place before, have you?” He asked me and I shook my head, my tied hair followed my small movements. Whenever people stopped, they turned to star
Author’s POV As soon as Aileen entered through the portal, her senses were assaulted by the powerful scent of werewolves and the spark of energy. In her line of sight was a vast area of land that was brimming with enticing greenery, the musty aroma of ancient forests, and the scent of the moist ground. The moon hung low in the sky, and its light shone brightly upon all of the werewolves as well as the towering trees. "Does time pass in a different way here?" Aileen had a question. In the other world, it was morning, but here in this place, it's already dark. However, based on the fact that Joshua gave a dismissive nod, it did not appear that this was the case. "The light of the moon always casts a shadow over this world. The elders say that the end of the world will come the day when the sun rises at this location. At the very least, this is what they believe." As Joshua led Aileen through the thick undergrowth, his fingers occasionally brushed against the palms of her hands. The c
AUTHOR’S POV After receiving instructions from Joshua, who had gone out to take care of something else, one of the mansion's maids showed Aileen the way to her room. Both of them proceeded along the hallways in a deafening hush; neither Aileen nor the servants spoke a word, and Aileen did not care; she was immersed in her own thoughts, and she could also sense the menacing eyes that were directed towards her. In addition to this, she questioned something that left her perplexed and wondering, "Why are you leading me in circles? You were instructed to show me the way to my room, weren't you? Even though we have passed by this location three times at this point, we have not yet arrived at where you are taking me to?" Aileen came to a halt in the middle of the hallway, crossing her arms over her chest as she peered at the maid who had been motionless. Aileen scoffed and turned her gaze away from the maid; did she really believe that she would not notice? "If it was your intention to i
