I tried to move out of its grip but even the slightest movement was hurting. The monster's grip on my shoulder was unmoving. I used my other hand to feel the ground, hoping to find a stone of sorts or a broken branch I could to pry him off of me. Just as my fingers felt something cold within their reach, I heard another growl coming from a short distance.

My eyes roamed around to locate the source as I felt my time coming. It was one thing to get out of one rogue's grip and try to outrun it. I might have succeeded in saving my life from one, but two? It was an impossible feat for someone like me. I was nothing but a mere human with no strength of her own.

The foul smelling beast pushed its snout closer to my face as it growled against my ear. It was calling dibs on me, or so I guessed. The first bite belonged to him. And when he would be done filling his belly with my fatless, lean meat, the other one was allowed to finish what was left of me.
