Chapter 41 : A Tender Kiss

I was warm and comfortable, but something was pulling me towards consciousness. I wanted to keep sleeping. I felt completely content where I was. Still, something was telling me that I had to get up. It was a sense of urgency, but I didn’t feel like I was in danger.

Slowly, I opened my eyes. I blinked against the bright beams of sunlight that greeted me. Once my vision cleared, I turned my head to take in my surroundings. I was in an unfamiliar room, nestled into a large bed. The curtains were open, allowing sunlight and warmth to fill the large space. There was a dresser at the wall across from me, but that was the only furniture that I noticed.

There was a throbbing pain in my temples, and I was completely exhausted. I wondered for a moment if I was hung over, but I couldn’t remember the last time I had gone drinking. I wanted to sleep more, but I couldn’t for some reason. There was something that was preventing me from relaxing.
