Ava / Chap. 35
Ciel gently held my arm as we made our way beneath the gigantic tree towards its center while the remaining guards and the Raven haired guided the pack towards what I had to assume were the dungeons. As I turned my gaze back ahead, I noticed multiple large roots dangled from beneath, most large enough for a human to sit on.
"Sit down." Gestured Ciel to one of the roots and I sat down, a little unsettled at first as I adjusted my balance. He smiled and I think he was trying to reassure me but it just came out as really awkward. "Don't let go."
Oh trust me, I wouldn't let go of this thing even if my hand was chopped off...

"Son." The raven haired elf nodded to Ciel, then settled his icy blue eyes on me. "This is the female you spoke about?" His voice boomed across the room, and sounded much more menacing now that we were in a closed area. Even my Wolf felt a little intimated but she stood her ground and lent me her courage. I smiled at Valor's words and Ciel kindly pulled out a chair for me while his parents sat down. I took my seat, facing the king and queen, while Ciel sat down beside me. The table was decorated with fruits, veggies and cheeses of all kinds, some I've never seen before in my life, actually. Star shaped green fruits, red spiky ones, pineapples, grapes, apples, strawberries, name it! They had it all. Yet their wasn't a single scrap of meat anywhere, nothing even close to it. Despite my Wolf's whimpers for her favorite treat, I subdued her demands and didn't ask, by sheer politeness. Guess the royal family is vegetarian...? "This looks delicious." I complimented, waiting for the king and queen to take their food. Instead they simply looked at me, smiling calmly which made me all the more uncomfortable.

I don't know how much time had passed since I was locked up in my room, but it felt like an eternity. Nobody answered my calls over the link and after what I think was an hour at most, I gave up and slumped at the edge of my bed. I had already checked every inch of the room which only confirmed it was pointless to even try to escape; the window was way too high to jump out of and the door way was covered with thorns, not to mention the two elven guards posted there. I was completely isolated from the world with no one to turn to. I event tried to get information from the guards, or at least know what I did wrong, but none of them even moved or seemed to acknowledge my presence. Clinging for dear life, I watched as Zed clawed and ripped at the monster's back, tearing its flesh apart as it tried to shake itself free. The monster then swung its giant arm and clamped it's claws into Zed's shoulder, sending the scout flying into a tree. To my horror, Zed's body went limp on impact, blood seeping out of a wound on his head, but I couldn't tell whether he was dead or unconscious. Enraged, I heard Cade growl before he jumped head first to attack, while the monster blindly charged at Zed for a finishing move. I watched as Cade fought claw to claw with the beast, somehow unable to move from my spot. As he went for the throat, Cade was attacked from the side and pinned to the ground, the creature holding his head down with his powerful paw. A yelp of pain escaped the blond wolf's throat, but my eyes couldn't move away from the beast. When I regained consciousness, my entire body felt as heavy as a rock. I was numb and a little cold, but I was mostly exhausted and hungry. My back felt slightly warmer and my left side was sore, uncomfortably pressed against a rugged surface. I was so disoriented, I could barely open my eyes. I felt my Wolf wake up and I was relieved to know she was okay, albeit sore and drained of al her strength. I groaned, feeling a sudden irritation around my neck. I brought a hand up to my throat and touched the skin, which made me hiss when it hurt at the contact of my finger. Felt like I was burnt in that area...
