BAELA
Inside of the castle was alive now, as I stepped out of my bedroom door into the passageway. Too alive to be precise.
I gave a rather suspicious look at the guard that was standing not too far from my room. There were usually no guards stationed on this floor, they only used to patrol here at night.
"Hmmm". I pondered, as I stepped out of my room, shutting the door behind me. I was wearing an attractive all black gown, short in length and above the knee. I also wore matching black boots to complement my black gown.
"Could this be the handiwork of my father?" I thought to myself, staring at the guard some feet away. He was standing perpendicular to me and wasn't looking in my direction.
There was only one way to find out, I had to ask him. I walked towards him with curiosity before stopping right in front of him. He was a Delta werewolf. Only they could be assigned to this role of guarding the fourth floor. The Beta guards were with the Alpha on the second floor and that was where my parents were too.
I hadn't taken notice of him before, his face was rather unfamiliar.
"Hello, Delta...?"
I said, dragging the DELTA, so he could give me his name and I could complete it. I didn't need to give him mine, my parents were popular and I was notorious.
"James...Delta James!" He said in response.
He wasn't so much taller than I was but despite the closeness of our heights, he was avoiding making eye contact with me.
"Alright, Delta James". I smiled at him.
"I believe there must have been a mistake on your guard duty roster because you are on my floor". I said in a friendly tone.
"Are you sure you are on the right floor? This is the fourth floor". A smile was still plastered on my face all through as I said this.
"Yes I am. I want NO TROUBLE, I am just doing my assigned duty!" Delta James said, still rooted to the spot, while avoiding my eye contact.
His rather serious tone and lack of eye contact spoke volumes and told me all I needed to know. He too was shunning me like the rest of the pack and he was positive he was assigned to guard my floor.
"Only father could reassign him here...he was the chief of the Alpha's guard" I thought to myself, upset.
Father wasn't angry at me before dawn but it seemed I was wrong. He didn't seem to trust that I won't sneak out again to Abbadon's house or to somewhere else more dangerous this time around...like beyond the mountains.
I hurriedly walked away quickly from where the guard was standing towards the bend. I wasn't offended with the guard anymore, I was upset my own father was putting me under castle arrest.
"I am lucky the guard isn't following me everywhere in the castle". I whispered to Aria, as I turned briefly to look back at him.
Aria hovered beside me as I made the bend leading to the staircase and suddenly I froze in my tracks, as I caught sight of another guard stationed in front of me.
"Two guards?!" I was shocked, as I said in disbelief.
I felt like running back into my room and locking myself up as I took a step back.
My privacy had been compromised and I felt like I was being watched, everywhere I went now.
"We have to keep going". I heard Aria say, as she flew ahead of me to the front.
"I am certain you could speak to your father and convince him to have your privacy restored". She suggested, urging me to step forward.
Aria was right. I could always speak to my father about everything and he would listen. I just needed to show I was trustworthy and earn his trust and that of mom back.
I hesitated a little bit before stepping forward towards Aria and continuing on my journey towards the flight of stairs. This time around, I walked past the second guard without saying a word. I was sure he too didn't want to be here and he didn't want to speak with me either.
I was down to the second floor in a hurry. I had come across two more guards stationed on the staircase to ensure I exited on the right floor. I was now on the Beta's floor as I walked into a large hall and immediately I walked in I could see their stares fixed at me.
There were probably close to twenty of them here, tough hardened warriors that guarded the Alpha. Not like the Alpha needed protection himself, he was more powerful than any one of them.
They blocked my path but as I approached slowly, with my heads staring at their boots they stepped aside one after the other, clearing a path for me in the centre.
They shunned me the most and would not even respond to my greetings or speak to me. I had stopped trying, after I figured they weren't going to stop anytime soon despite my dad being the head of the Alpha guards.
Their hostile presence humbled my spirit as I approached my father. My father was very tough, tougher than most of the Beta werewolves except for only the PRIME BETA.
The Prime Beta was only inferior to the Alpha and that meant he was given an even greater role, that of guarding the entire city!
He was in charge of the Beta and Delta werewolves, numbering in their hundreds guarding the city walls. My father also answered to him.
I took a deep breath in as I walked into the presence of my father and mother to have breakfast as usual.
"Good morning father and mother". I greeted, still looking face down as a sign of respect to their hierarchy in the pack.
"Good morning Baela". I heard my parents return my greetings cheerfully, as I made my way to my seat at the dining table but then I heard a second greeting.
"Good morning Baela".
I instantly looked up, as I recognized that familiar baritone voice. It was God-like and my eyes lit up as I caught sight of him seated across at the dining table.
I was speechless for a few seconds out of excitement and nervousness because I wasn't expecting him to arrive so soon for breakfast.
"Are you alright?" Abbadon asked, sensing I had not responded to his greeting.
"Good mmm...good morning Abbadon". I stuttered nervously. I wasn't one to lose my composure so easily but around him, I was unsure of myself.
"You came early!" I was flushed, the excitement getting a better part of me.
Maybe because of what happened between us earlier today or maybe because I was just excited to see him.
"I did". He said, revealing no emotion which I hated so much but loved because it excited me and I wanted to unravel him.
"Baela, come dear and have your seat". I heard mom say, as she motioned for me to sit beside her.
They were seated at a 20 seater wooden dining table used by the Beta werewolves for merriment. It wasn't the most fanciful because it had both claw and knife marks on it but it was a sturdy dining table.
Father and mother sat in their regular seating arrangement. Father sat at the extreme left of the dining table, while mother sat beside him. I would usually sit at the other end, close to my father but today Abbadon was sitting there and that meant I had to sit next to my mother.
I did as I was told as I pulled out my chair and sat beside her as an obedient daughter would.
We only had natural light to illuminate the dining hall during the day, as with most places in the castle, except for the Alpha's chambers which were large and luxurious.
I was staring down at my empty plate in front of me on the dining table before looking across to Abbadon quickly to steal a glance.
I smiled faintly as I looked away. We were both wearing black matching outfits, as I had figured he would. He looked as handsome as ever in his black shirt and jacket and I hoped he thought the same way about me too.
"Abbadon". Father said, drawing his attention to him.
"I know I have not done enough to make you feel at home here but I promise to change all that starting today".
"We all know you as Abbadon but do you have any other names?" Father asked.
I looked across at Abbadon curious to know too. This was someone I had feelings for yet I knew next to nothing about him, not even his other names.
"Yes I do. My name is Abbadon -" He said, as he paused, as he looked at father.
"ABBADON DARGAN". He said, looking across at each one of us...
If you like the story so far, I would really appreciate it if you can give the story some GEMS! THANKS DARLINGS!
BAELA We had all sorts to eat on the dining table. Father made sure it was all arranged for our guest; ABBADON DARGAN. "Abbadon Dargan". I thought about the name a little bit but although it was dark, I liked it. It gave his personality depth and I was intrigued even more by this mysterious wanderer. I barely ate my food as I was more concerned about spending some alone time with him after breakfast. Hopefully father and mother wouldn't object to that. "You should eat some more!" Father said merrily to Abbadon, with a large piece of pork still hanging on his fork as he held his steel cup of ale off the table in his other hand. Abbadon smiled at him, as he picked his food delicately from his plate with his cutlery. Like I said, he had quite the table manners for a wanderer. "You won't be strong this way, if you eat with such grace". "You should be graceful with the ale but not with the food. You will need all your strength for what lies ahead". Father said heartily. I could tell
BAELA I heard the door close shut behind me with its familiar squeaky sound. We shouldn't be here, I knew. I hope I wasn't making a mistake? I hope I don't get myself into more trouble? But he was standing right behind me, clouding my judgement, making me unable to think as I stood rooted on the spot waiting for his next move. It seemed like an eternity waiting for him to act but in reality barely a few seconds had passed since we got in. "I see why you want me in the castle..." I heard him whisper from behind as he walked up slowly towards me. I closed my eyes instinctively, as I breathed out awaiting his sensual touch. Memories of us together before dawn this morning flooding my mind. I know he could read my mind. He had shown me he could just a few minutes earlier and now I was ready to explore with him the heights and depths of my pleasure even though that was not what we were supposed to be doing in here. "The castle is nice and a beautiful place". He said, completing hi
BAELA "Father!" I called out instinctively, quivering in fear, as he barged into my bedroom unannounced but he wasn't looking at my direction. I quickly withdrew my hands and lips that once hung around Abbadon's neck and kissed his lips a second ago. I stood mortified at the spot as I awaited my fathers judgement. I was anxious about what my father was going to do next. "HOW DARE YOU?!" I heard my father growl underneath his words, as he stood at the entrance of the door. It was a low but threatening growl and I could see the rage was beginning to build up in his eyes. How DARE YOU COME IN HERE, to my DAUGHTER'S ROOM and DO THIS?!" Father growled even more. I could see the disbelief in his eyes, as he stood still blocking the entrance of the door. Abbadon and I were both trapped in. Now, I was worried about Abbadon's safety. We had just become lovers and now my new found love was about to be taken away from me...everything was about to be ruined! "Father, please forgive me! I
BAELA I have been sobbing all alone in my room for hours, ever since Abbadon was taken captive by my father; Beta Lorgan. The time was now approaching nightfall and I could not do anything else but think of him. I had refused to eat the lunch that had been brought up to me by one of the Delta guards. I imagined the pain and torture Abbadon must be going through. I imagined if the last I would see of him was from this morning. The day had started out so well and bright and now it was ending on a bad and gloomy note. The rays of the sun that filtered into my room through the glass window some hours ago were now all gone. It was now sunset and I imagined what the beautiful sunset would look like in my head, for I could not see it. Its beautiful colours and its warmth on my skin. It reminded me once again of Lily, how much she loved to watch the sunrise and the sunset and I let my mind wander to her for a moment... *** 12 DAYS PRIOR. "Isn't it beautiful here?!" I heard Lily say w
BAELAThe sun had long set and it was now night time, as I laid on my bed. I was in the dark in my room as I refused to light up the lantern. The Delta werewolves had kindly offered to do so for me but I ignored them. I just wanted to be left alone in the dark. The darkness of my room matched how I felt inside - it was gloomy.I hadn't spoken to Aria since I was confined to my room. I didn't feel like it. The Delta guards were also outside my room and would think I was insane talking outloud "to myself".I was backing the window as I laid on my side on the bed, staring at the entrance of my room. The door was broken, so I could see a reflection of the light coming from the passageway. I was about to close my eyes to get some sleep if I could manage it, when I heard footsteps approaching. They were familiar footsteps of two werewolves I knew so well - they were those of my parents.I quickly sat up on my bed, ready to welcome them. Father and mother hadn't been to my room all day sinc
BAELAAll was perfect again in the Aurora Clan pack for me as a brand new day began. I had all I needed restored back to me by my parents. Their love and that of the charming Abbadon Dargan.I had seen him for breakfast this morning in a more lively environment than last night. Please Don't get me wrong, last night was wonderful. I had the privilege with my parents of having dinner with Abbadon at the dining hall and he looked as perfect as he was in the morning. He was unhurt anywhere on his body. Father and his Alpha Guards made sure not to harm a single hair on his head.We sat in the same sitting arrangement as we did for breakfast. Me seated beside mother, while Abbadon sat opposite us, close to father. We ate mostly in silence but the silence was meaningful. It wasn't cold - there were smiles here and there and the silence was rather reflective on our parts, as I imagined life with Abbadon...it was blissful! We ended the night on a high note with me having a chance to talk wit
BAELAI was awestruck by the way Abbadon moved during training. He moved quickly and stealthily for a werewolf; evasive, yet powerful! I wondered how he learnt to fight like that?Werewolves were usually quick and abrasive in their attack to show their dominance but his was different. He could strike without getting struck. He could inflict his maximum blow and walk away unscathed. He could do this while still not transformed! I imagined what else he could do in his werewolf form. There was still a lot I had to learn about Abbadon Dargan but this excited me rather than scare me. The stealth way he moved brought back flashes, as the mystery of what had happened in the past began to unravel in my mind...***12 DAYS PRIORI laid hidden in the spot, at the base of the mountain where my Dark Angel had rescued me and kept me. I didn't know his name, so I called him that.It was brave of him to risk his life to rescue us, after having seen the vicious giant troll that was out there to kill
BAELAI could hear the sound of the pack running towards me as I knelt on the ground crying bitterly. I had picked Lily's head off the ground and had placed it on my lap as I continued weeping for her."MY DEAR LILY! OH LILY, DO NOT LEAVE ME!" I cried. Nothing else mattered to me in the world, ONLY SHE DID. I could trade ANYTHING and ANYONE just to bring her back to life! I let my head fall on her chest as I cried, trying to take in every feel and every scent of her before her body was no more...before I had to give her up forever. It was a bitter-sweet moment recalling our last moments together - our last time alone together, our last adventure together, our last sunset together. The werewolves had finally caught up with us as their running steps stopped."Please forgive me, I am so sorry..." I whispered, as I cried on her chest. I had let my sister down, I had failed in my role as her elder sister to protect her. I shouldn't have let us go on this adventure...I shouldn't have let
