“Who are you, and what have you done to the lordly bitch that won’t surrender to my whims and prominence as the alpha?” I squinted as I looked over at Davina.

She was lying motionless, calm, and peaceful. I almost can’t believe it, especially after invading my privacy and brutally fighting me for it; that on top of all the other fights, quarrels, and unending disagreements—the very definition of beauty only; nothing more.

What are you doing?

I walked to the bed slowly so as not to startle her. I tripped and almost fell because my eyes were on her and I forgot about the stair-like elevation I have to climb to reach my bed.

Really, dude?

A wave of relief washed over me when I looked up after regaining my stance to see that she was still lying still like a sleeping lake.

“Hmm,” I shrugged.
