64. Birthday

Hamza helped her out of the car. Though she's much better now still he was so caring and considerate toward her.

He held her hand as she intertwined their fingers and walked into the haveli (mansion). Oddly there was pin-drop silence with no soul in sight because it was pitch dark.

Hoor had deliberately made them late so they only reached the mansion at night.

"Why there's no light?" Hooriya asked, stepping close to him as she held his arm with her free hand.

"You stay here, I'll go check." He said as his hawk-like eyes swept around the place only to find a silhouette of a man standing in the corner holding something.

Hamza lunged at the man as he grabbed his collars and at the same time the lights turned on and there was a chorus of "Surprise!" He blinked, staring at the man whom he was choking and it was Karim staring at his boss like a deer caught in headlights holding a party popper.
