3: Running Away From Her Groom.

Nancy was meticulously through in her bedroom, drying her long, lustrous golden hair and delicately combing it so that it flowed gracefully down her back.

She gracefully descended the stairs to joined her parents in the living room for a delightful dinner.

Her stomach rumbled with hunger, prompting her to steady herself on the iron railing as she descended the stairs, ensuring she didn't miss a step or risk falling.

Nancy noticed that a few guests had arrived at her parents' home, which caused her to frown.

She was not particularly fond of the architectural style of her father's mansion. Since the living room is connected to the dining room, it's a bit too easy for guests to catch a glimpse of her family's personal matters.

She's not a fan of being watched by others, as she values her privacy.

Nancy noticed the tall, attractive black man with an air of authority standing in their living room, observing her as she gracefully descended the stairs.

She felt uneasy under his intense gaze, as if he was undressing her with his black eyes, his desire clearly evident on his face.

Nancy shifted her gaze from the black man and turned her attention to her parents, who were standing anxiously in the living room.

She approached her mother and politely inquired, "Mom, is dinner not quite ready yet?"

Mrs. Olivia Marlon was pleasantly surprised when Charles paid a personal visit to her home. She replied to Nancy with a touch of nervousness, "Oh, Nancy, Come and meet your groom."

"What did you say?" Nancy let out a surprised gasp and quickly turned to face Charles.

She was captivated by his intense gaze, as his eyes never left her side. He observed her from the living room, quietly observing her every move.

Nancy was taken aback, and she inquired of her mother, "Mom... When did I get married to him?"

"Nancy, you haven't tied the knot with him just yet. We are delighted to have Charles Alejandro with us. Mr. President Nolan Alejandro, only son and beloved child. The wedding is in two days away."

"Only two days!" Nancy was taken aback, on the verge of losing consciousness.

"Relax, Nancy." Charles spoke, causing Nancy to shiver at the sound of his deep, masculine voice.

Nancy was filled with disbelief as she prepared for her upcoming wedding to him, which was just two days away.

With a trembling voice, she mustered up the courage to tell him, "I'm sorry, but I cannot marry you, sir."

"Nancy!!" Her father raised his voice, trying to quiet her. Charles Alejandro is widely known as the most feared young man in the city."

Senator Logan cautioned, "Nancy! It's important to remember that Charles Alejandro has had the opportunity to meet many wonderful people before deciding to be with you. It's truly an honor to be chosen as the country's future first lady."

"No, father!" I'm sorry, but I cannot accept this marriage. I simply cannot marry him!" Nancy hurriedly retreated, swiftly making her way to the stairs and ascending to her bedroom, her hips bouncing and swaying as she ran upstairs.

She ascended to the highest floor, entered her room, and gently closed the door behind her.

"Hey, Nancy! Come back here, don't go too far!" Despite her father's call, Nancy adamantly refused to answer, unwilling to enter into a marriage with Charles.

She closed her bedroom door tightly and crawled into bed, tears streaming down her face.

"Hmm, I'll head upstairs and give her a call." Mrs. Olivia Marlon offered, but her husband promptly intervened, "No need for that."

Senator Logan looked at Charles with a sincere expression and expressed his apologies, "We deeply regret the inconvenience, your excellency. As we haven't informed Nancy about the arranged marriage with you, Sir."

"Hmm," Charles stood in awe in the living room, gazing upstairs to the second floor.

He eagerly anticipated his chosen bride to emerge, her lovely face gazing down at him. Just like the way her hips had gracefully moved and swayed to his gaze.

Charles had noticed his muscles had become stronger in order to win her over.

He was uncertain if he could control himself in her presence. She appeared even more stunning in person, surpassing the beauty captured in her photo with him.

He finally looked back at Nancy's parents, and he met her mother's gaze upon him. She bore a striking resemblance to Nancy.

Mrs Olivia Marlon smiled anxiously and assured Charles, "Don't worry, I'll go upstairs and talk to my daughter now. And the wedding will proceed as planned."

"Hmm, that's pretty good. I am eagerly anticipating the wedding, as I have come here to warmly welcome my bride upon her return to the city. It's quite clear that she has no interest in seeing me." Charles gently handed over a beautiful bouquet of rose petals to Mrs. Olivia Marlon, asking her to kindly deliver them to Nancy. He expressed his deep love for Nancy and his desire to spend the rest of his life with her.

Mrs. Olivia Marlon graciously accepted it and stepped aside, as her husband offered another heartfelt apology, "Please accept our sincerest apologies, Your excellency. We sincerely apologize for our daughter's disrespectful behavior towards you."

"That's perfectly fine. I completely empathize with her fears, but that's not an issue at all. I'm only here to warmly welcome her back to the city. Please convey my warm regards to her and inform her of my affection. I need to leave now. Goodbye, Senator Logan."

"Yes, farewell, Your Excellency" Senator Logan kindly accompanied Charles as he gracefully exited their living room. And stepped outside to his car..

The security personnel gently close the car door. As soon as Charlee hopped into his Jeep, and the three cars smoothly pulled out of Senator Logan Marlon's residence..

Nancy gazed out of her upstairs window, fixated on the view of the garage below.

She watched as Charles gracefully exited her family home and slipped into his car, followed by the three cars that departed shortly after.

She was shocked to discover that her parents were insisting on arranging a marriage with Charles Alejandro, the son of the president. Although she hadn't met Charles before, she had heard of him. The online neitizen users often ridiculed and abused his family for their refusal to step down from power.

She was devastated to learn about his numerous affairs with young women in their state. Rumors circulated that he was involved in the sex industry, making him far from the ideal husband she had envisioned.

The gentle creak of her room door being pushed open brought her back to reality. She averted her gaze from the window and looked at her parent, who stormed into her room with anger.

"Nancy!! What was the purpose of that lighthearted drama that you just exhibited over there in the meeting with Charles Alejandro today? Do you realize how many young women would have eagerly accepted the offer and married Charles right away?" Her father confronted her with frustration, standing by her room door and giving her a stern glare.

As her Mother stood in silence, gently held the bouquet of familiar rose flowers, Charles had given her.

"Nancy, please respond!" Her father raised his voice, calling out to her,

"Dad, I don't think Charles is the right fit for me." "I don't love him, and that's the truth," Nancy said, tears streaming down her face. Charles Alejandro isn't the kind of man she wants to marry.

She desires a kind-hearted man who will cherish her and not someone like Charles, who fails to appreciate her worth as a potential wife.

She was searching for a gentle way to convey to her parents that she couldn't envision herself marrying someone like Charles or becoming his wife.

"Love??" "Can you share your thoughts on love, Nancy? As you spend more time with Charles, you will come to love him. And once you both are united in marriage as husband and wife. That's how your mother and I got married, and we're still going strong as a couple. What if you find yourself waiting for someone you love deeply, only to discover that they don't feel the same way about you? It's a painful situation to be in, loving someone who doesn't love you back."

"Well, I can't turn down the Alejandro family's proposal to us, even though I know you'll have reservations about it. Given their position of power, it is crucial to consider the potential offense they may take if you decline their son's proposal. He chose you, Nancy Marlon, out of all the other beautiful young women he must have seen. So you'll have to marry Charles, whether you like him or not."

"No, daddy!" "I can't marry Charles!" Nancy was overcome with emotion, her voice filled with anguish as tears streamed down her face. The idea of being forced to marry Charles was simply unbearable.

As her father left the room, he paused at the door and asked her mother to have a conversation with their daughter about the preparations Nancy'll need to make as Charles' wife. "This Saturday, Nancy will be going to the presidential villa to live with Charles, regardless of her personal preferences."
