Elisha was trembling, especially since Alex didn't react to anything. His eyes even looked so cold, making Elisha's feelings shrink.
Oh, Lord. Don't say that this man will give her up.
"Sir, I mean– Alex, I beg you, help me. They– they must be the people the older man ordered to find and capture me. Please help me. I don't want to be handed over to such a man."
Alex remained unmoved, and Elisha felt a panic that seemed to spray throughout her bloodstream. She grabbed Alex's arm and gripped him, looking completely distraught.
"Please, Alex. I beg for your mercy. Please don't leave me to them. I swear that I will repay all of your kindness. I will. So, please. Please, help me."
"What?" Alex looked at Elisha with an unreadable expression. "I wonder what you can do for me."
"Th–that– I–I can–"
"Tell me the specifics. I can't accept flippant statements."
Elisha froze. From the look in her eyes, it was clear that she was confused.
"Didn't you ask for my help?" continued Alex while folding his arms casually. "Then, what can I get in return? Isn't there a law of giving and receiving in this world? What happens if you want to ask without thinking about what you can give in return?"
Elisha felt like she wanted to cry now. Alex's words were not wrong. She didn't have anything she could offer in return for Alex.
Then, what should she do? Should she throw away all hope and give herself up?
It was a terrible fate. It would be much better for Elisha to end her life now.
"What else should I do? All this time, I've always tried to obey and not get into trouble, at least to maintain the good name of the Foster family! But why? Why has my life turned out like this?"
One of Alex's eyebrows rose while a pair of dark blue eyes stared at Elisha sharply.
He then whispered to himself. "Foster? Is this really what I'm hearing?"
His gaze towards Elisha grew closer and closer as if there was something he was trying to confirm. However, Elisha was utterly unaware of this.
"That's true. I think I've heard of the Foster family's daughter."
There was a loud noise. A loud noise came from outside the door as if more and more people had gathered there. "Sir, we're sorry. But if you don't open the door either, then we will open it by force."
Elisha closed her eyes. She still didn't want to believe that this was the end for her, but Elisha also realized that nothing else could help her.
"No. I don't want it to end like this."
"Take it off."
Elisha blinked.
"Take off your clothes," Alex ordered very briefly. "Now."
Elisha moistened her dry lips. She felt as if she had heard wrong.
“Wh–what the–”
"You want me to help you, right? So, take off your clothes. Do it."
Has this man gone mad? How could Alex save Elisha in such a way?
"Are you telling me to get naked?" asked Elisha in a strangled voice.
Alex shrugged slightly. "Not being naked is fine, but if that's what you want, then I won't refuse."
Alex looked calm when he said that, unlike Elisha, whose face was red.
“Th–then, what do you intend to do with me?”
A distinctive scent spread when Alex approached her again, making Elisha powerless.
"Wasn't it you who asked me to help you?"
"Yeah, but what exactly are you going to do–"
"We're gonna make love. What else do you want?"
Elisha gaped at this. Now, she was sure that this man was crazy.
Again she closed her eyes. In her mind, Elisha was overthinking other ways out in despair.
"It turns out that you two are the same. You are no different from that pig-like old man!"
Elisha just said the last thing she could think. The expression on her face right now looks so empty.
"What?"
Alex's posture suddenly changed, making Elisha instantly feel suffocated. For some reason, this man seemed to have an intense energy that could influence her so much.
"Isn't it? Then, what else? Both you and that old fart are the same! You both want my body, don't you think?"
Alex looked like he was going to be angry, but at the same time wanted to laugh. Elisha's words made him emotional, but the expression on her face was funny to him.
"Don't you dare to smile. Do you think my current situation is nothing more than a joke, huh?"
"Oh, my God. This the first time I've seen someone asking for help while getting angry."
Alex took a deep breath. He grabbed Elisha's arm and pushed her away. "Now listen to me! Don't jump to conclusions on your own. Shut up, and let me finish telling you what my plan is! OK?"
Elisha now seemed to be between life and death. Unfortunately, she had no other choice but to retreat.
She couldn't help but think that Alex could be so heartless. Elisha was also surprised by the man's cold and indifferent attitude, which instead reminded her of Tedris, her father.
"Don't try to mess with me." Elisha wasn't just bluffing because now there was a small knife she was pointing at Alex. "I mean it!"
Alex looks unfazed. He only glanced at the knife and felt he didn't need to bother finding where Elisha got the knife.
"Fruit knife." Alex laughed blatantly. "I'm impressed, but do you think it is enough to finish me off? Especially with your shaking hands. Elisha, are you kidding me?"
"Okay. Then, how about this?" Elisha rotated the position of the knife so that it was pointing at her neck. "Now, tell me what your plan is."
Elisha is serious. It meant that she would genuinely choose to die rather than get raped.
"Have you always been this stubborn?"
"What?" Elisha doubted her hearing. She felt that Alex was trying to trick her with a ridiculous question like that. "What do you mean?"
"They." Alex pointed his thumb behind his back towards the door. “Those who were your opponents have now gathered and surrounded you. Then, look at what you did. You even threaten the people who meant to help you."
It felt like someone had hit her hard on the head. Elisha looked so stunned and couldn't believe it.
"Are you going to help me?"
"Couldn't you just be a bit less suspicious of the person who's going to help you?"
"First, answer my question."
"Yes, I'm willing to help you, but it's not free. Some conditions must–"
"I agree." Elisha interrupted Alex in a hurry. "Whatever the terms, I agree."
"Anything?" Alex repeated in a questioning tone. "Is it anything?"
"Of course, as long as it doesn't tarnish my and my family's honor."
If only Elisha knew how much Alex was trying to restrain himself from smiling too widely.
"Okay. I'll take it that we agree. Remember, Elisha. There's no going back in a deal with Alexander Winter unless one of the parties dies. Do you agree?"
A knock on Alex's bedroom door now turned into a bang. It was clear that Dudley Baker's men were impatiently waiting.
"Agreed," said Elisha quickly. "I agree. Don't worry. I'm not the kind of person who breaks promises."
"Good. Then, come here."
"Why? What are you going to do? What exactly are you planning, Alex?"
Alex didn't answer right away and just stared fixedly at Elisha. He then smiled, saying, "Didn't I tell you before? Elisha, we're gonna make love."
Gosh!

What kind of situation was this? Even though she often thought about it, Elisha still couldn't understand."So–wait. Wait a minute–"Elisha's off-shoulder dress came down without a fight against Alex's ominous strength. As Elisa tried to grab hold of the hem of her dress in a hurry, there was an irritated look in Alex's eyes."Remove your hand.""Bu–but my dress–""Elisha, don't forget about our agreement."Elisha looked at him with a confused look. The man's face seemed to be shrouded in a dark shadow. Elisha felt even more scared because she couldn't bear to observe Alex's expression in detail."B-but I-""Now, do you want me to help you or not? Make your choice, Elisha!"Elisha swallowed back her sobs. Her shoulders shivered as Alex threw her dress to the floor. Cold air suddenly brushed against her exposed skin. There was no turning back for her at this time.Alex muttered right in her ear, making Elisha's heart freeze instantly. He stroked Elisha's body which was stiff with tensi
Dudley Baker came in a rush, drenched in sweat. His face was so red, and his chest was moving up and down rapidly."How? Has she been found?" Between his rising and falling breaths, Dudley's voice sounded like a strangled man's. "Answer me, you morron!""We still can't say for sure, Sir," said one of his men. "We just found this."His man then showed him a woman's one-sided shoe, making Dudley's forehead trench at once. "What's this?""Women's shoes, Sir.""I already know about that, You idiot! Do you think I can't see what this thing is, huh?"None of his men answered. They just lowered their heads. Dudley Baker's performance might have looked ridiculous, but his anger was a clear danger to them."It looks like Miss Foster's shoes, Sir." His bodyguard dissuaded him.Dudley's frown deepened. He couldn't recognize that shoe and snorted loudly. "Then what's the point? What I want is the owner, not the damn shoes!""W-we found it not far from this room, Sir. There aren't any other rooms
200 million dollars. Alexander is stunned. His mind repeated the amount of money Dudley had asked him. It was 200 million bucks. Gosh! He didn't expect Elisha's sale value to be that high. But on the other hand, Alexander also felt he couldn't just back off. No way! His pride was too high to admit defeat in front of a man like Dudley Baker. Especially now, with the irritating grin on Dudley's saggy face. Damn! It sickened him a lot! "Are you done talking?" "Huh? What?" "The amount of money you asked for, is it only that much? Or is there anything else?" Dudley Baker had a confused expression on his face. He couldn't understand at all how Alexander could remain calm after he charged such a high price. For God's sake! It's 200 million bucks! What kind of person is Alexander Winter? "This!" Alexander threw a business card into Dudley's chest. "We'll meet again tomorrow morning. Just call the number there, about when and where we can meet. Now, go and don't bother me any
Not long after, the sound of running water came from the bathroom.Alexander sat down on one of the sofas with a deep sigh."Why would I do such a thing?"What he had experienced tonight had been like a joke, but sadly it wasn't. All of this is real. After realizing that Elisha was from the Foster family, Alexander immediately remembered an old plan he had forgotten. That was why he was willing to help."But still, 200 million bucks is too much." He grumbled. "Shit! I wish I had learned anything about this first, but the situation was not possible."Alexander looked up. He stared at the hotel room ceiling for a few moments, and it looked like he was trying to count the number of crystals in the chandelier. "I even agreed too quickly to want to help her. What the hell was I thinking?"Elisha Foster was beautiful, but that certainly wasn't why Alexander wanted to help. He is a calculating person. Alexander never makes rash decisions, which can later be detrimental to him."But why?" H
"That's the amount of money Dudley Baker asked me in exchange for you, Elisha. That's probably how much your uncle owed him too. But to be more precise, I also still do not know." Elisha's mouth dropped open. "Two hundred?""Yes. It's two hundred million bucks, Elisha," Alexander added calmly. "So, now we've come to the point of the conversation." Alexander looked at Elisha intently. "Elisha Foster," he said. "What offer can you make in exchange?" "Think carefully," he said again, making Elisha, who had already opened her mouth, shut it again. "Don't forget, there is a balance that you need to adjust, and the value is at 200 million bucks." Alexander leaned his back on the sofa. He looked so relaxed, so different from how Elisha felt. "Two hundred million bucks." She whispered. "That kind of huge money. Oh, my God. What on earth has Uncle Marlon done?" Alexander was silent. He felt no need to chime in on something so obvious like this. Marlon Foster must get addicted to gambli
"Do you intend to give me a blow?" Alex wanted to laugh out loud after hearing what Elisha said. "It was a joke, didn't it?" asked Elisha again. "You sound like a fraud." "I'm more suspicious of this deal being deceitful when you say such attractive things." Now, Alex was utterly laughing. "Come here, Elisha." "Why? What else you wanna do?" "As I said, I don't like repeating what I said. Don't make me say it twice." Elisha approached with hesitation, but Alex immediately pulled her onto his lap. She bites her lips in anxiousness to read Alex’s blank expression while Alex glances at her. Meanwhile, Alex didn’t know why she was making such a fuss. "Do you want me to lend you the money?" "Yes, I do. If my uncle or Dudley catches me, then it will be a bad end for me. Perhaps I will be sold to the whorehouse. If so, I prefer to die." Alex glared at Elisha. He still couldn't understand it at all. At first, he thought it was a simple thing. Elisha could help him to get somethi
"If so, then what advantages can I get?" Alex had a very sarcastic tone. "Because it can be sure that your husband will be the one who will hold power. So, to guarantee that I'll get my 200 million bucks back, I want us to get married. I think that's not a bad deal at all." "But— Alex, we don't have to– I mean, I swear I will—" "I need collateral, Elisha. Don't forget; it's huge money that I will spend on you. Besides, I was the one who encountered the most risk of losing to get married for that reason. Or perhaps, do you have a lover?" Elisha shook her head for sure. "Then, there's no problem. The end." What Alex said was true, so Elisha could not deny it. "But, what about you?" "Me? What's wrong with me?" "As you said, it's too much of a loss for you. After all, I had a problem and troubled you." Alex's face beamed. He couldn't help but smile. "You are an interesting woman, Elisha, since you are already worrying about me. I can't remember when the last time someone was w
Elisha saw the agreement papers. It was straightforward, written in elegant print, and below was a space for the signatures of Alex and Elisha. There is no problem with the agreement writing except for the content. "Are you kidding me?" "Do I look like I'm kidding?" "But, this—" Elisha had concern about finding the right words. "The contents of this agreement are so unreasonable!" Alex held out his glass calmly, and Cassian poured dark red wine for him. Alex then took a sip of wine. "I’m curious. Which part do you find unreasonable?" "Everything!" yelled Elisha. "All of this agreement makes no sense to me. Take a look at this!" Elisha handed back the papers to Alex. "Since at the first point, I can't understand. Why can't I file for divorce?" Alex didn't answer. He snapped his fingers, and Cassian swiftly came up with an answer. "That's because you might be filing for divorce before you were of legal age to inherit the Foster family heritage, Miss Foster. If that happe
