The death of my parents didn't leave me as dumbfounded as I was because I was a little boy who didn't really understand the concept of death.

If only she knew how I looked at her when I had the chance to--she rarely ever came to where I was. It had also been a while since she told me to cook for her and it sort of made me sad.

She stood by one of the bar tables, staring deep into my eye. What made the situation all the more awkward was the fact that the flashlight of her mobile phone was on and so it combined with the dimly lit light of the bar to give some sort of weird vibe.

"Marcus," the single word came out of her mouth and went deep into my soul. "I wasn't expecting to find you here." The rest of the statement slipped out like she'd been having a hard time composing it. Glad to know that I wasn't the only one who found it difficult to speak now that
