Christina’s POV

For a moment, I sat there, on Scott’s bed, mulling over the butler’s words, yet, I couldn’t read meaning into them. It wasn’t new to me, that Adams often spoke in parables whenever I asked a personal question regarding Scott and his plans for me. I guess it’s his way of staying loyal to his master. I shrugged it off and moved closer to the tray of food, ready to dig in but then my eyes caught onto a folded piece of paper, just beside the tray, resting on an iPad. My curiosity piqued and I found myself reaching for it. I unfolded it and saw the words neatly scribbled across the small piece of paper in clear intricate writing.

“Good morning, Little fairy. I know this is quite unusual, but it’s only a gentle reminder for you to use your medications and to desist from trying to escape from my home while you’re sick. Also, know you’d have to answer to people for abandoning your billionaire fiance,”

I could hear his smug voice as I read through the note and it only irritated
