Hades dragged his feet towards the door, reaching out for the handle with his keys when he to noticed it was already open.
He pushed the door further into the house and stepped in, glancing around until his eyes dropped to the floor, only to spot the feminine heels amongst the pile of his shoes and his housemate's.
Quietly closing the door behind him, he locked it -- as his friend should have in the first place-- and walked straight into the living room, where he noticed the TV talking to itself with his friend, Morris, completely immersed in the sleeping curse on the couch with his girlfriend laying on top of him.
Both in deep drenching slumber.
He ignored them both this time as he would usually smack Morris awake to turn the screen off.
He was only spared because Morris's girlfriend was there and he didn't want to disturb her.
He walked out of the living room once he turned the TV off and walked up the stairs to his room.
The heaviness in his eyes got the better of him the moment his head touched his pillow.
Hardly closing his door or even getting under the covers, he instantly fell victim to the curse from the warmth radiating from the thermostat Morris had probably turned on a while back.

Still feeling the sleep eat at his eyes, Hades still had to get up.
So the first thing he did was get out of bed and head down stairs for the kitchen, plotting to make himself some coffee before taking a shower.
"Oh, you came back." Was the first thing Morris said as he noticed Hades walk through the arch and into the kitchen. "Thought you slept at Lilith's."
"We're not dating." Hades sighed, clearly not amused with what came out of his mouth as he walked towards the coffee machine, grabbing a mug in the cabinet just above his head. "Yet."
"Okay." Morris chuckled out as he continued to fry some eggs, knowing the truth a little too well. "Why were you late anyway?"
"Was helping her with some work." Hades nodded as he watched the coffee machine work its magic. "Took me two hours."
"I bet she at least hugged you after that." Morris wiggled his brows as he glanced towards Hades with a devious grin, only to drop it the instant Hades shook his head in denial.
"As a matter of fact, she even left without telling me." He sighed out, leaning onto the counter. "I was so confused when I noticed her office locked and the lights turned off. I know she hates me but I helped her out and she would have at least said goodbye or left a text."
"If I were you, I'd give up." Morris rolled his eyes as he felt his girlfriend's arms wrap around his waist before her head leaned against his back, the clear display of affection rotting his eyes. "You've tried for three weeks now and it's clear she won't forgive you."
"It's just three weeks." Hades assured himself as he poured himself some coffee into his mug. "She talked more than she ever did to me yesterday and complimented the coffee I made her. I think if I keep this up-" he paused once he turned and noticed Morris's girlfriend, Nora, hardly wearing anything expect an oversized hood that still exposed her lower section. "-if I keep this up she might forgive me and we could... Work it out." He nodded to himself as he sat on the island bar stools while Nora glanced at him with a mute expression.
"Nora, why do you keep wearing like that every single morning?" Hades asked with a cringe on his face as Nora smirked at him. "If you're just going to spend the entire day walking around half naked then just come like that next time." Hades rolled his eyes when Nora chuckled under her breath.
"I know it hurts you to see me because you don't have a girlfriend." Nora shrugged her shoulders, tightly hugging her boyfriend who chuckled.
"No." Hades frowned deeply at the two that were still chuckling. "How on earth would I still have my appetite when you're dressed like that in the kitchen?"
"You've never complained about it before." Morris laughed out as he was finished with the eggs and walked to the island table, placing a share of eggs and pancakes in front of Hades who had crossed brows plastered on his forehead. "You're complaining today just because Lilith ditched you and it makes you jealous that Nora is always here with me." Morris smirked at Hades who clicked his tongue and began to shove the food into his mouth.
Nora sat beside Hades instead as Morris also gave her a share.
Nora was Hades' very old childhood friend.
Since they were born, their families knew each other and they grew up almost as brother and sister. Though they eventually didn't talk much as they grew up because they were just complete opposites. They became friends again when Morris started dating her in highschool. And since then they simply treated each other as a brother and sister.
Which is why, Nora was always comfortable, she could even walk around braless since Hades had completely no interest in her.
Emphasis on the 'could'.
"Lilith is the girl who's twin got deflowered in highschool right?" Nora asked as she studied Hades' irritated gaze.
"Yeah." Hades nodded slightly and Nora nodded.
"She hates you because you were involved in it right?" Nora asked with a grin spreading across her face. She had always wanted to confront him of his ignorant behavior but he would always try to prove himself innocent.
"I was just... Look, I was just there, I just happened... Okay the thing is... Sh*t..." He groaned out, dropping his fork onto his plate as he rubbed his fingers against his eyelids. Trying to find away to explain his innocence. "Martin is my cousin, okay?" Hades glanced at Nora who chuckled out mockingly and began to eat. "He didn't really rape her as such he just... Played with her. I was the one that convinced Ariel to meet up with him since I hated both the twins back then... They were always themselves and Lilith... I hated her the most, she was silent and we got paired up one time and she said she would do all the work, saying I was too stupid to get anything right. She was really mean and cold, the only confusing thing was... She was only bad to me and everyone seemed to find her friendly. So why me?"
"Dude, you were literally the guy the teachers hated for beating up others even when it wasn't your fight." Morris rolled his eyes as Nora nodded in agreement.
"You were so short tempered and always provoked anyone you didn't like and Lilith was one of them. I remember you even braided her hair to the seat behind her whilst she was learning and she fell over with the chair when she tried getting up after class." Nora rolled her eyes as Hades frowned deeply.
"Don't forget when she was practicing her cheerleading, you deliberately kicked the ball right into her face. You pretended it was an accident but you were laughing as her face got red." Morris added, getting Hades to bite onto his lower lip.
"Yeah. And also that one time when you deliberately bought a whole stack of gum and blended it into her hair whilst she was sleeping in the library. She had to come the next day with very short hair since the gum is almost impossible to take out." Nora shook her head in disappointment. "She was the one you bullied the most out of all the other guys. Even though you weren't beating her up like the boys you harassed, she experienced the worst kind of bullying."
"Not to mention she was a bit chubby during the last term and you called her out for it which forced her to lose it all before the graduation." Morris sighed out as Hades sunk his teeth into his lip, cutting it in the process as he shook his head, not wanting to hear it.
"Sh*t...." Hades sighed out as he licked off the blood from his lip. "I completely forgot about most of those..." He sighed out, staring at his plate. "I would hate me too if I was her... But for some odd reason I thought it was someone else I did all that to. Especially Ariel. I thought I bullied Ariel but now that I remember, Ariel was bullied by Martin and I bullied Lilith."
"Your entire family line is messed up. I wouldn't date you ever if I was her." Nora rolled her eyes as she chugged down her orange juice.
(Recall)"H-Hi!" The young thirteen year old girl chimed as she waved her hand nervously, standing beside her sister Lilith who stood still, surveying the entire classroom. "My name is Ariel Lamar and this is my twin, Lilith..." She chuckled nervously as the students stared at them in bewilderment.Right in front of them were the twins of the famous Derek Lamar whose net worth is over billions worldwide. The school wasn't a fancy place for rich children just like Ariel and Lilith but it still was an expensive school.Lilith didn't say a word since her name had already been introduced by her twin. She didn't want to say anything else either, so she simply remained quite. The entire class's eyes were automatically glued onto Ariel who seemed to be the most vibrant of the twins and most sweet. Besides, the entire class had their curiosity on her body instead.Unlike the other thirteen year olds and her sister Lilith, Ariel had much larger breasts than the rest of the girls. Despite the f
(Present) Hades glanced up at the clock just on top of the cashier and it was well past ten now. He was clearly late for work since he had to stop by at a café just to buy a few things.... Ahem... For Lilith. "Here you go, freshly baked donuts, with chocolate filling, am I right?" The woman behind the counter asked as Hades nodded and fished out his wallet. She turned back to the hot drink he ordered and placed it beside the bag. "And a hot chocolate, sweetened plus heavy milk and a cookie." She finished and he simply nodded again as he handed out the money, getting her to frown since he literally did not answer any of her questions, even her good morning. He quickly grabbed his bag and cup after he paid her and walked out of the café, half running and walking towards his car. He glanced at the watch again and hissed under his breath once more before cruising into the road, nearly hitting into a car that honked at him loudly and aggressively. With a simple roll of his eyes, he ig
The moment Hades walked out looking like a whizzing teapot, everyone knew that he was furious and it didn't go well for him. Much worse than usual. He stepped into the elevator and tapped onto his floor and it only took a few minutes until the doors opened. He stepped out and headed to his Uncle's office, knowing he was about to receive some scolding. He knocked against the door and opened it a few seconds later, peeping into the room where he could see his uncle staring at a graph on the wall."I'm late." Was the first thing Hades said as he stepped into the room and closed the door. "I'm sorry.""You're a secretary, Hades. If you continue this I might have no other choice but to-" his uncle paused as he noticed the stain on his shirt and sighed out with a small nod. "I see. You can have a ten minute break to get your shirt cleaned at the dry cleaners. Come when you're ready." He sighed out and Hades nodded."Want some donuts?" He asked, holding up the bag as he walked to the desk an
Hades couldn't help but rub his eyes every now and then as they began to burn in the air from the lack of sleep. He glanced his desk to the watch just sitting at the corner of the room and it was just around noon, hardly close to their closing hours. He wasn't given that much work, but he couldn't sleep on the job. Not after he turned up late. Otherwise his uncle would degrade him, and he wouldn't want that. It was just embarrassing. He rose the coffee mug to his lips and took a small sip, sighing out as the strong taste of black coffee rolled on his tongue and down into his throat.Lilith would probably love a coffee...He thought to himself as he took another sip and glanced towards the door. She's probably tired too.He nodded to his own thoughts and got up from his seat, placing his mug down and walking towards the door as he made his way to the elevator. Once in, he quickly tapped the floor leading to the in-door café, a café just for the employees in case they skipped breakfast
"Okay." His uncle sighed out as he smacked his hands against the table, getting Hades to glance up at him in confusion. "At least tell me she's just playing hard to get.""It took you the entire day to figure that out?" Hades sighed as he folded his arms to his chest while sitting across from him, sitting on the waiting couches since he had finished his work a while back and decided to watch his uncle work.As though that sounded normal in the least."It didn't take me that long." He shrugged his shoulders and flashed Hades a grin to which he eventually rolled his eyes to."It's freaking, 8:45pm, Gary." He sighed out as he run his hand through his hair."Aren't you going to escort her home?" Gary asked as he raised his greying brows at him, watching his nephew frown slightly before meeting his eyes."She probably left a while back." He shrugs his shoulders and leans back into the couch. "I'll just find my jacket hanging by the door or on the floor when I go pick it up after.""That m
"So, what's the task about?" Lilith sighed as she closed the menu once they were done ordering their food. "Is it about the new recruits?""Um..." Hades cleared his throat as he leaned back to his seat and glanced around himself, watching a few couples here and there and some business meetings here and there. It wasn't too fancy but enough to keep away from noisy children and loud music since Lilith assumed it was for business.Little did she know."Well... Yes." Hades nods just so Lilith wouldn't get up the moment he says his Uncle lied. "It's about them. He was asking if you could pick ten from them, who would they be and the reasons why." Hades cleverly said as he nodded to his own words.Lilith pouts her lips for a moment, stuck in thought as she glances up at the ceiling, thinking carefully who it could be."There are in fact a few I know are the best. There's Jane Millet, Frank Woods, Christen Parker, Gwen Holland, Vincent Jacobs, Lorain Lamber, Troy Williams, Dexter Harbor and
Lilith watched as Hades left the place before reaching for her phone and dialing Ethan's number as she got up from her seat and grabbed her bag. "Where are you?" She asked once he picked up as she began to walk towards the door. "I went back to the studio. You can meet me there." Ethan said on the other end, getting her to sigh out as she pushed open the glass doors and stepped out. "Okay, I'll be there in a minute." She said before ending the call, hardly giving him some time to reply. She walked past Hades' car just as he got in. She glanced down at her phone once more, checking her emails, only to find it flooding with warnings from her director. She had missed a lot of lessons because of work. She tried to explain it to him, but he didn't want to listen and blamed her for slacking off. This time she was an hour late but can still make it. Or else she would get fired. She stopped at a stop sign and began to wave at the taxis speeding by, rushing with their last clients home
The moment Hades made it back into his house, he walked straight into the kitchen, heading for the cupboard just above the sink with all the alcohol his friend had collected since the past weeks. He grabbed a bottle and instantly pulled the cork right off before chugging it down, only to choke when it burned his throat, causing him to stop instantly. A deep sigh escaped his lips as he walked towards his couch, dragging his feet along with him.He threw himself back onto the couch and leaned into it, feeling himself sink right in. His lazy gaze trailed around the room and towards the photos of his roommate and his girlfriend on their countless vacations around the world. The largest photo of them both sat just above the small empty fireplace, staring mockingly at him. It was a photo of Morris and Nora deep diving with a dolphin right beside them, both grinning at the camera as they hugged the dolphin.Hades could only hear it from them since he never tagged along despite having Morris
