14. What’s going on?

Amara POV

“Thank you, Estra. This is just what I needed.” I said, letting out a breath before finishing the glass

“I will leave you now. The king is to arrive soon.” She said. I nodded my head and watched as she walked out.

I poured more wine into my cup and swallowed it in one mouthful.

I waited for what felt like forever until the door opened. My eyes darted toward it just as Sebastian’s scent filled my nose.

He looked at my hands where I held the wine bottle and a glass cup.

I poured another glass and held it out to him.

“Thank you.” He said, walking up and grabbing the glass.

“You’re welcome.”

I began to sweat nervously, my heart racing so fast I thought it might burst. I felt the urge to bite my nails but I resisted. The last thing I wanted was to be scolded.

He took the bottle from me and poured him another glass, drinking it as he sat down the bottle.

“Are you nervous?” He asked.

“I am.” I said. He let out a sigh and sat down his glass, then turned to me.
