Kai’s POV

I’ll never forget the first time I came to Godric. It was nothing I had to imagine hell to be like. The stories about the Underworld were just that, stories. Maybe it was the dragon part of me that found comfort in the never-ending darkness and warmth of this world or how free it felt to always blend in with the night sky and dance with the northern lights.

But this place felt more like my home than Caspian ever did. The man, if you could even call him that, who tolerated my existence, made me feel like a speck of dirt beneath his foot. But here, I was never made to feel like that, quite the opposite actually. And the two people who helped me who raised me these last five years. We’re the closest thing I had to a Mother and Father.&n
