“You promised, remember?” Odessa’s hands rubbed my chest, parting my unshaven chest hair. My hands cupped her cheeks, kissing her forehead, then touching it with my own.

“I’ve never broken one, not to you.”

“Yeah, well, don’t do it anytime soon either or you’ll be in big trouble!” She chastised.

“Trouble? What happens when I get in trouble?” My heart hurt to think she would be angry with me. Her worried face faded, a smile appearing.

We stood on a large platform that could have been meant for dragons or maybe large squadrons of faes and fairies to land and depart on. Amora stood by Nicholas. They whispered into each other’s ears. Amora’s dragon was yet to fly long distances, so she would stay behind us and ride in our wind-stream.
