Fiona's POV
"So how much is this going to cost?" I asked.
"About nine hundred." The mechanic answered.
I groaned. "Just to put a mirror back?" I asked.
"Yeah, there's a lot that goes into that. Wiring and everything."
"Alright one second." I pulled out my phone to text him.
900 for the mirror. Can u send $$ plz thank you
A few moments later I got a response.
What's the secret phase baby?
I sighed.
I need you Daddy. Please help me.
Another buzz.
Transferred 4000 to ur account. Luv u baby.
I was relieved and disgusted.
Thnx daddy luv u.
I turned to the guy. "Okay, fix the mirror."
~~~
"Fi, are you paying attention?" Uma asked.
"Yes, of course. Sorry." I muttered.
"I know this stuff is so easy it's boring, but we gotta get through this."
"I know."
"Is everything okay Fiona?" She questioned. "You seem off."
"You wouldn't understand." I sighed.
"I could try."
"It's nothing, really Uma. Let's just finish this up and get it over with."
"Okay, sure."
"Do you really think we'll find a good bass player?" I asked.
"I hope so. I really do think it's a good idea." Uma said.
"You're willing to share the spotlight?"
"What does that mean?"
"Come on, Uma. You're the star of the show. You're the main appeal. Everyone loves you! And if there's some hot guy, you have to share the spotlight with him."
"I don't mean to hog the spotlight." Uma said quietly.
"But you do."
"Well I'm sorry, okay?" Uma slammed her book shut. "You know, you seem to really have a grasp on this, so I'm just gonna go. Don't want to take up too much attention."
Ugh, great. Now I feel bad. Uma didn't actually do anything wrong. I was just mad about my car and that I had to call him and that I needed her help.
I'm a bitch sometimes.
Olivia's POV
Two pounds.
I was already down two pounds! I was thrilled. This whole salad and water deal was working perfectly. But two pounds was not enough. I had to keep the momentum going. Of course my therapist doesn't agree with that. She thinks I need to be around more people who actually want to get better.
So group therapy was the answer.
I didn't hate it, but it wasn't exactly fun. I was my turn to share.
"Hi. I'm Olivia. I'm eighteen and I suffer from both anorexia and bulimia. I hate the way I look. I feel fat and huge all the time and I pretend I don't."
"Do you have support?" The leader asked.
"Too much. It's hard to get back to losing weight because everyone is so overprotective." I admitted.
"And are you trying to lose weight in healthy ways?"
"Sure. Just calorie counting. Lots of salad and water. Exercise. Keeping it healthy."
"And are you obsessing over losing weight?"
"No." I lied. "I just want to feel good about myself. That's not wrong, right?"
"I suppose not." She smiled. "Thank you Olivia."
Who in the hell brings donuts to an eating disorder recovery meeting? That's so sick and tempting. I managed to refrain from taking one. Salad and water. Cigarettes and gum. A recipe for success!
"Hi," I turned a saw a girl with brown hair and intense green eyes. She had been in the meeting.
"Hello."
"Olivia right?" I nodded. "I'm Hope."
"Nice to meet you." I smiled.
"You too. You don't actually believe in all this, do you? All this 'healing and health' crap?"
"Um, not really. This is mandatory for me. I just want to go back to how things were before, but without all the health issues and fainting." I admitted.
"There's this online group that helps with losing weight. All kinds of different strategies. Wanna join?" Hope asked.
"I would love that."
"Take down my number. I'll text you."
"Thank you so much." I was almost giddy.
Finally I felt like I was actually getting some help for my problem.
This group is amazing! I was learning so much and everyone was so nice to me. I felt right at home.
A notification popped up on my screen. A private message from one of the members: Riley Samson.
Welcome to the group!
I clicked his profile. He was super cute. Dirty blonde hair, grey eyes, amazing smile. And he lived here!
Thnx appreciate it!
I waited impatiently for a response.
Ur in a band right? That fabulous group?
Oh my goodness he recognizes me! But he probably wants to talk about Uma. Most people do.
yeah I'm just the lowly drummer :/ uma is the lead singer tho
I chomped on a carrot stick ready for him to ask questions about Uma. My phone dinged.
I love drummers :)
This group might be the best thing that ever happened to me.
Uma's POV
I had finally decided to answer the message.
I would spend the rest of my life wondering about this. And what if she can get me one step closer to finding out who my dad is? I couldn't pass this up. I reread my message.
Hi there! Yes, that is my father's name! I guess I always wondered if I had siblings out there! I'd love to sit down and chat if that's okay with you!
I pressed send.
"Who are you texting?" Cassius asked.
"J.T. was texting me about auditions."
"You're really adding a dude?"
"Yes, what's so wrong about that?" I asked. "Are you really that insecure?"
"I'm not insecure I just don't like the thought of some guy always being around you."
"I don't get upset when you have kissing scenes in acting."
"Maybe I care more about this relationship than you do." Cassius said stubbornly.
"Cassius, you wanted to date the hot rockstar and that's what you got. Men are going to fall like dominoes around me whether you like it or not. Now you can accept that or we can break up."
"Don't be hasty, Uma! God, am I not allowed to express my feelings now?"
"Of course you are babe. Just not those feelings. I won't sacrifice my dream for anyone or anything."
"You know you're not like normal girls with daddy issues. Aren't you supposed to be obsessed with me and always want me around?" Cassius asked.
"I'm not like any girl you've ever met, baby." I smiled before kissing him.
"I know. Why do you think I want you so bad?"
~~~
These auditions were horrid! No wonder we never had men in our band, they're untalented!
"I knew this wasn't going to work." Fiona muttered.
"Stop being negative." Raquel said. "It's gonna work."
"The last guy was cute." Olivia said, putting a piece of gum in her mouth.
"Too bad he didn't have a lick of talent." I sighed. "Next!"
A tall boy with bleach blonde hair walked onto the stage. He seemed shocked to see us. "You're all chicks."
"Well you passed the first test, you can pick up on the obvious." I stated. "Name?"
"Hendrix Griffon. Um, are you guys legit? This isn't some cutesy pop band right?"
"Don't you know who we are?" Fiona asked.
He shook his head. "But I'm new in town."
"If you can play better than anyone we've seen today, we'll show you we're the real deal." I declared.
"Alright."
He was phenomenal! Easiest the best of the day! Possibly the best we would see. He was perfect. Hot, talented, a bit on the rough side. I think we found our man.
"So?" He asked cockily. He knew he had killed it.
"So start playing something and we'll jump in." I said getting up. "Let's show him what we can do, girls."
We got up on stage waiting for him. I grinned when he started playing a familiar Blink 182 song. I joined during the chorus. Hendrix gave a surprised look.
The other girls joined in. We sounded good! This might really work!
Hendrix laughed when we finished. "Wow you girls sure proved yourself."
"Didn't realize we were the ones auditioning." I smirked.
"Well you passed. Your voice is insane. I can see why you're the front woman. You all play great."
"Thank you," Olivia giggled.
"Appreciate it." Fiona smiled.
Oh great. They had a crush on him. I could see why.
"So? Am I in?"
"Can you step outside and let us discuss it?" I asked.
"As long as you come and get me. I didn't catch your name."
"I didn't throw it."
Hendrix chuckled before walking out.
"Well?" I asked.
"Can I be honest?" Raquel asked. "I don't like him."
Damn it.
Raquel's POV
"Is this slutty?"
I looked up at Uma. She looked incredible. She was in a leather skirt with a bralette and a see through top
"Um I don't know."
"Would your parents die if they saw you in it?" Uma questioned.
"For sure." I laughed.
"Then it's perfect. This is for our next gig."
"Cassius won't like that."
"If only I cared." She threw herself on my bed. "Can you believe your parents let you be friends with me?"
"Why wouldn't they?"
"Um, hello? I go against your whole culture. Piercings, tattoos, foul language, bisexuality, promiscuous clothing. I thought they were under the impression that Satan was my father."
"Speaking of, have you gotten a response from your possible sister yet?" I asked.
She shook her head. "What if she doesn't want me either?"
"Then she's insane. Anyone who doesn't want you is."
"You're my favorite person in the world." She smiled, pulling me to lay down with her.
I loved when we did this. Being right next to Uma with her hand in mine was the safest place in the world to me.
"Uma...how did you know you were bisexual?" I whispered.
"I don't know. I always had these intense feelings for girls the same way I did for boys. I thought I could just recognize attraction in all people. And then I kissed a girl for the first time and my heart almost exploded out of my chest. Just like my first kiss with a boy."
"Were you scared?"
"Terrified. But I realized there was nothing I could do to change it, so I had to embrace it. Why? Are you having confusing thoughts? Do you need to kiss a girl? I volunteer."
She turned to face me. Our lips were inches from each other. Did she actually want to kiss me? I sure wanted to kiss her. But I couldn't. Not now, not like this.
I forced a laugh. "That's okay. I was just curious. You're really brave, you know?"
"You sure you don't want to kiss me?"
"Yeah. Good Vietnamese girls don't kiss other girls."
"Have you tried being a bad Vietnamese girl?"
~~~
"What do you mean Raquel?" Uma asked.
"He-he's gonna cause problems!" I insisted.
Honestly Hendrix was amazing, but he liked Uma and I didn't need another guy getting involved with her and hurting her.
"How?" Olivia asked.
"Hands up who finds him attractive." I demanded. They all raised their hands. I probably should too. I think by straight standards he's a total hottie. "See, we all like him."
"Okay, but you and Uma have boyfriends." Fiona pointed out.
"And nothing will happen with me or Fi cuz he clearly has a thing for Uma." Olivia stated.
"You think so?" Uma asked.
"Focus! This sounds really messy." I said.
"Bands have members who sleep together all the time." Uma stated. "That's how we got the Rumors album."
"She has a point." Fiona said dully. "And we won't fight over him. Whoever he likes, he likes and no one else gets to make a move until whatever situation they had has ended. And I don't know, wait a week."
I groaned. I knew this had to be unanimous and as much as I didn't want Hendrix in the band, I knew he was the best choice. Besides, it would make Uma happy.
"Fine. He can join."
"You are the best Raquel!" Uma kissed my cheek. "I'll go get him."
She excitedly ran off. "How long do you guys think before they start sleeping together?" Olivia asked.
"I give it a month." Fiona rolled her eyes.
Uma entered again with Hendrix. "So?" He asked.
Uma took a deep dramatic breath. "Hendrix Griffon, welcome to The Fab F.O.U.R.! Get ready for the ride of your life."
It was definitely going to be a bumpy one.
Fiona's POVI have a horrible habit.When I get upset and I feel like my life is out of control, I go shopping. Of course this is an issue because I don't really have money. I mostly blame my mother for this habit. She taught me how to spend money I didn't have.It's all she did after my dad died. She bought all kinds of shit, but never groceries. Never things for me. Only things for herself. She acted as though she was the only one who lost my dad. Like I wasn't affected by it too.The only thing my mother ever actually gave me was bad habits and crippling insecurities about whether I was important or not. And yet I continued to have her in my life. We sat down for dinner once a month.Same time, same place, and ordered the same th
Fiona's POVThere are some advantages to being friends with Uma.I mostly get those advantages when we go out. When we turned eighteen, Uma gifted us with the best fake I.D.'s I'd ever seen in my life. I swear she got someone from the DMV to make them for her.Our favorite place is Roy G. Biv. It's supposed to be an LGBT club but straight people go all the time. It also does karaoke.Another advantage is people love buying Uma drinks.Uma is very generous so she shares her drinks with us. I go out and I don't have to spend a dime."What are you singing tonight, Uma?" Raquel asked."Cool
Fiona's POVLast night was actually fun. I met a guy named Tim and we really hit off. I brought him home with me. It had been awhile since I had sex but boy did he remind me how good it was.My eyes fluttered open. Tim was on his phone."You're still here."I smiled."Well I woke up to such a good view, I had to." He grinned, leaning down to kiss me. "Last night was amazing.""Yeah, it was. It's...been awhile.""I sure couldn't tell." He kissed me again, pulling me to him. "We should get breakfast or something. I wanna spend more time with you.""Really?" I asked.
Fiona's POVI couldn't keep ignoring him. He was getting angry.The only problem was, I was enjoying the time I was spending with Tim. Sure it had only been twenty-four hours of drinking and sex and talking, but it already felt like a lifetime. I really liked him and somehow he liked me too."I'm not crowding your space am I?" Tim asked as we watched a movie."No, actually I'd like it if you crowded my space some more." I grinned, scooting closer to him."It's just I've been at your place this whole weekend. You don't want me to leave?""Do you want to leave?" He shook his head. "Then stay.""However...I do really need other clothes." T
Fiona's POVI love that I finally have a boyfriend to bring to our "band meeting". Well I guess Tim technically isn't my boyfriend considering we haven't had that talk, but we're definitely dating."Are you sure it's okay I'm here?" Tim asked."Oh yeah. This is our unofficial band meeting. Boyfriends and girlfriends are allowed." I assured him."Boyfriends huh?""Well I mean-I'm not saying you and I are boyfriend and girlfriend or anything like that, but-""Fiona, it's okay. I think it's time we took that step." Tim smiled."Really?""Well I haven't been home in days. I'd say we got something a little s
Fiona's POV "Backstage is fuckin awesome." Tim whispered. "Isn't it?" I smiled. "Am I the first groupie you've brought back here?" "Of course not, you're the latest in a string of them." "And here I thought I was special." He kissed me. "Love the outfit. Very rock and roll." "Thanks." I giggled. "Let's go to the green room." I pulled him through everyone setting up. He looked around in wonder. When we entered the green room everyone greeted us distractedly. Uma was in the corner doing her vocal warm up, Olivia was doing sit ups while Riley held her feet, Raquel and David were a
Fiona's POVFirst Uma completely ruins my life and now her sister does too?Something must run in those genes. Their father might actually be Satan or something.I didn't mention Tim dating Zora the night of the gig. Enough shit was happening with Uma and Cassius getting into a screaming match that left Uma in tears. I had never seen her cry in regards to a boy.I almost felt bad for her.Almost."So...you and Uma's sister huh?" I said, hoping I sounded casual."Zora yeah." Tim nodded."Was it like serious?""Yeah. Um, she was kind of
Fiona's POVWe decided to have a sleepover after Raquel's fight with David. We were all really going through it.We drinks and junk food and watched scary movies. It always makes us feel better. At first we weren't sure why until Olivia so poignantly pointed out:"Well people are dying in these movies and we're not. It kind of puts things into perspective. Things could be much worse than they are."During a less interesting part, Uma and I went to get drinks in the kitchen."Hey Fiona...do you think what Cassius said about me is true?""Why are you asking me?" I questioned."Raquel thinks I'm perfect and Olivia always sees t
