Chapter 13: Why isn't he back?

All day long, I paced up and down my room, waiting for Xavier to come back just as he promised. But it was nearing evening now and there was no sign of him yet. My heart started to palpitate with the thought of something bad happening to him. I’d been told by the guards that Xavier had ordered that I remain in my room till further notice. But how long was I supposed to stay here waiting?

What if the person who released the gun shot had shot him?

But even at that, he was supposed to heal quickly. At least that was one of the perks of being a werewolf, and an alpha at that. And if he had healed quickly, then why wasn’t he back?

I walked to my window and raised the blinds so that I could see what was happening outside. There were groups of girls gathered together and whispering. I strained my ears to hear what they were saying but try as I could, I just wasn’t a vampire with some sort of super hearing.
