Chapter 5: Her?
The blizzard had settled down, the snow was cold and thick, the wind cooler.
The white wolf looked at the two bodies in front of it. Blood stained the vibrant white snow a dark crimson. The human had never liked the color of blood but the wolf had an uncontrollable thirst for violence. Both of them have seen too much, endured too much to just sit back and let things occur. The wolf liked to draw blood first, ask questions later.
"They just don’t seem to learn, do they?" Aya spoke to it after a long sigh, tucking the gun safely back into a pocket in her skirt.
The wolf snorted. Turned around, and started walking back.
No, they never learn and they think they keep thinking that the next time will be a charm. The white wolf knew that this wasn't their final attempt and they will keep coming until they uncover the truth behind these snow covered lands.
"Why you’re welcome, jiji (big sister)," Aya said with a mock bow.
The wolf gave another snort, but waited till Aya joined her by its side. It would never leave a packmate behind and Aya was a favourite.
"What are we going to do with them?" Aya asked, pointing a thumb over her shoulder at the two bodies. There were more bodies behind them, four to be exact and all of them had been taken down by the white wolf. "You know they aren't dead, right?"
No, they weren’t dead and if they were, then they would have a problem, because one of them was an Alpha and the white wolf had sensed its power. If he died then there would be a war and that was something that wasn’t on the agenda…yet. Sometimes, a war was inevitable…and by the sudden interest that every nearby pack was showing towards this part of the land, a was seemed inevitable. But there was till time.
What are the packmates for? The wolf mind linked the pack members as she answered her question. The snow storm created a static that usually blocked pack communication but the white wolf had lived in these snow capped mountains for a long period of time, over three decades to be exact, it had learned to communicate around the static and so have its pack members.
"Oh!" Aya shook her head at her own silliness; she had forgotten they weren’t alone.
Put them in the dungeon. We'll need to question them. And don't go easy on the silver. Silver was the only metal that was poisonous to wolves. That was why the chains in their little dungeon had been made especially out of silver.
"Will do!" Aya gave a mock salute but the white wolf didn't look back.
She took off in a sprint, paws hitting the snow so softly that it didn't even leave a mark. She knew where she was headed.
About two miles north-east to where they had ambushed the trespassers, the snow gave way to a huge waterfall, this was one place where the water never froze, no matter how cold it got in the mountains. The force of the water was enough to tear anything to shreds as soon as it hit the surface. There wasn't any river; the water flow soon went underground, disappearing into the earth after coming about 3miles from the melting glacier. They called it the Jharna (waterfall).
It was just across the waterfall, that the white wolf ruled its pack. A pack dominated by females. The BloodPledge pack.
Taking a deep breath, she let herself shift, welcoming the familiar pain and pleasure of the transformation as her bones changed shape and rearranged their position from wolf to human. It wasn't often that she shifted. One of the reasons why she was the strongest was because she was so close to her wolf, too close as some might say. But that didn’t bother her, giving into her animal instincts gave her solace, gave her peace.
Within a few seconds, the white wolf was gone, and in its place stood a tall, lean woman with hair almost as white as snow and eyes as blue as the endless oceans.
In place of the white wolf, now stood Mikalya Carnell, the first ever Female Alpha in the world dominated by male shifters.
Chapter 6: Mate Rhys’s P.O.V: I woke up with a start, gasping for air as my lungs burned from deprivation and immediately groaned in pain. My arms were stretched and aching, silver cuffs made my skin burn with every contact. My face felt horribly raw and my right shoulder hurt like hell, probably from the bullet that village girl shot at me...wait… My eyes finally adjusted to the dim light of the large room that I was stacked in and it took some time for my eyes to adjust before I was able to see clearly. I was sitting up against a wall in what looked like a dungeon or a jail, my wrists bound together above my head with silver cuffs. I turned my head towards my shoulder with difficulty to see it poorly bandaged; dried blood stained the once white cloth a dark reddish brown. My face felt like the skin had been peeled off of it, which was probably the case since it hurt like a bit
Chapter 7: Female Alpha Rhys’s P.O.V: Mate. She was my potential mate. The first wolf that my wolf had chosen after my transformation ten years ago, after my first shift into a werewolf. I’ve finally found her! When a shifter first turns eighteen, they shift into their respective animal halves. As soon as the animal part comes to surface it starts searching for a partner. It happens because even though our human urges can be controlled, our animal side longs for contact, for a connection that is unbreakable until the day we die. Contact of the most intimate kind with someone like its own. Hence, it starts searching for potential mates. But I had never found one until now, my wolf hadn’t found anyone worthy until this instant. As Alpha, I had much more control over my wolf than any other wolf, which is why I had been able to control the urge to find a mate and to stabilize my pack. The f
Chapter 8: Pains of Betrayal Rhys’s P.O.V: I don't know how long it has been, but it felt like eternity since I was left bleeding and chained to the dungeon walls. Zyane had tried to make small talk with me but I made it very clear that it was because of his mate that we're even in this hell hole. I haven't told him that the white haired women was my potential mate. I haven't confirmed it with her yet, so I wasn't even sure if she felt the bond at all. It felt so ironic thinking that not even a week ago, I was the one being lectured about finding my potential mate and settling down for the stability of the pack. And now, Karma the Bitch has bit me in the ass with all her might and my mate just turned out to be the potentially violent Alpha that Aiden and Devon were after. As promised, no food or water had arrived and I was pretty sure I was ready to drink my own blood
Chapter 9: Heated Denials Rhys’s P.O.V: I wasn't going to die after all. That was my first thought as I heard the hinges of the dungeon gate creak open. It felt like I had been without food and water for about a century and the Goddamned bullet in my shoulder was finally going to be poisoning my blood for good and that would be the end of me. So when I finally heard noises from the doorway of the dungeon, I was ready to get the hell out of this place once and for all. I was even ready to fucking leave this pack alone and just return home only if it weren’t for the silver haired Alpha, my mate. "W-w...t...r..." I could hardly breathe let alone speak. It felt like I had swallowed gallons of sand, my throat was that dry. But I don't remember if I actually got the water I had asked for because black sports soon danced in my vision and the next thing I know, I had passed out from exhaustion and the lack of nu
Chapter 10: Deal Mikalya’s P.O.V: I slammed the door shut on my way out of the egoistic Alpha’s room. There was a crowd gathered outside in the hallway, most probably waiting for eager gossip or maybe they were just weary of what might happen next if I accidentally killed the Alpha? I wouldn’t be able to tell with my mind seething with rage. But my packmates had clearly felt the rage through the pack link, the intricate bond of blood that connected us all as a pack, because they parted like the red sea as soon as they saw me approach. I was sure I wasn’t a pretty sight either with my eyes glowing with the wolf’s rage and my lips pulled back n a snarl. Their hurried motion of stepping out of my way as if I would actually take my anger out on them, would have been comical if my mind wasn’t so distracted. I didn’t even know which way I was heading until I found myself standing in front of the training room. Maybe
Chapter 11: Chase Rhys’s P.O.V "That went well," Zyane sighed, rubbing his temples. "Yes it did," I agreed, amused. But that amusement was soon wiped off my face as soon as I looked back at the spot Mikalya had occupied not long ago. "Holy Shit!" In her place hung a punching block made of metal alloy, but the only difference was that the long solid block in the shape of a cylinder was now crushed beyond recognition and there were slight red stains on them indicating that she had done it by bare hands. "Maybe you have actually found your match, Rhys!" Zyane slapped my back before whistling at the deformed block and going back the way he came. But even though he didn't admit it out loud, I knew he was thinking that Mikalya was far more than just my match. I circled around the deformed block a few times, assessing the damage. Okay, so maybe I was guilty of admiring
Chapter 12: Two Steps Backward Mikalya's P.O.V: I was fuming as I stormed out of the kitchen. The nerve of that man! How dare he roam around my house like he belongs here! How dare he talk to my people like he has the right to? How dare he! Does he think I’m joking with him? I turn my back on the man once and he goes around exploring my pack house like it’s an amusement park with a ‘free exploration’ tag. I needed a run. That arrogant, dominating, stupid, selfish, ALPHA was getting on my last nerves and I needed to sweat him out of my system for good. I know I’ll have to bear with him sticking around for a couple days and I also knew that his reasons for staying were entirely personal no matter how much bullshits about it being a ‘mission to find out if the pack is a violent one’, that doesn’t mean I’m liking it one bit. I want him go
Chapter 13: Trouble in Paradise Rhys’s P.O.V: A vicious growl tore through me as I watched Zyane about to do the unthinkable. The growl distracted Zyane enough to snap his attention towards me, but all he did was growl at me in rage before turning back towards the cowering girl he had trapped under him by force. Knowing that I was the closest one to him, I jumped up on top of one of the rocks and in one swift motion, landed right behind Zyane and sank my teeth into his shoulders to rip him off of the girl and throw Zyane away from her. I turned towards Zyane as he recovered from his shock. I saw Mikalya take a protective stance in front of the girl, but she didn’t interfere. She knew that this fight was between me and my packmate and her interference could only cause trouble. But damn she had every right to pound Zyane to the ground for the little stunt he was about to pull off. The girl was clearly not feelin
