C H A P T E R - X V I I

I got startled at his sudden appearance and looking at him stupidly with an open mouth. 

"You trying to catch flies with your mouth?" He said sarcastically and I quickly closed my mouth and I felt my face heat up.

"Uh- um- I was just- hey", I looked down twiddling my fingers hiding them with the extra-long sleeves. Oh- my shoelace is open. 

I was snapped out of my thoughts with his low rumble and looked at him again. He looked different. His pupils were dilated, eyes rimmed red, his voice a little bit high, and he just seemed calm? I don't know, but whatever it was, was weird and unsettling and way way different than the morning. I wiggled my toe and rubbed it against the shoe.

"Do I make you nervous little bunny?" He whispered in my ear, I stopped breathing for a second and he chuckled stepping off from and leaned across the wall. Phew. I let out the breath I was holding now that he wasn't
