Chapter 3 - The Matter

The young man's statement made me and everyone in this room who heard it, shocked and disbelieving at his words . Even so, neither of them could make a sound. Their mouths were locked to speak. They can only hear and see, without having to take part in this shocking event.

My eyes widen, "what do you mean?" I still can't move my body. In fact, just looking at Peter felt very stiff and painful.

The young man laughed after hearing my question, “You ask what I mean? Of course to make you my wife. And our wedding day, is this weekend."

The one-sided plan that the young man mentioned took me by surprise. An unknown young man suddenly came and spoke gibberish. He pissed me off a lot.

“I don't care about any of that! Who are you really?!”

I brushed aside the question of his statement, and asked what I should have said earlier.

He looked into my red, teary eyes , from enduring the pain after trying to move my neck.

The smile on his face instantly disappeared. Now he is worried to see me, “what about your eyes? Why did you win i s?” he asked, frowning.

"You don't need to know. Now just answer my question, who are you really?!” I answered curtly and emotion into furious late .

"Okay. My name is Will, and I'm a wizard." Finally he relented and answered slowly. Then looked down sadly.

The anger I felt at first, turned into pity for him. "What's the matter, Will?" I asked innocently without noticing everyone's changed faces.

Still looking down, Will shook his head. “There isn't a single person in this world who would accept a mage like me. The parents who raised me are gone. Without them, I am nothing anymore. Even though they left a lot of treasures for me, they will never be able to make someone like me happy.” Said Will without looking at me.

Hearing his sad story, made me sympathize with him even more. "What's wrong with you?"

He looked back at me coldly, “I am an evil witch. Since childhood I always use my magic to harm people who have no good intentions on my family. Until they die."

Instantly my eyes widened at his words, " I don't like those who have bad intentions towards other people. But you should not commit a crime too, like what they did to your family 's . You should have…”

"What should I do, when I see Father and Mother's pride being humiliated and trampled underfoot in front of my own eyes?!" His voice was high and full of anger.

I gasped. My heart skipped a beat when I heard him yell, "I don't know... I'm sorry," I bowed my head in regret.

Will snorted, “not your fault. I'm sorry too, for yelling at you." He turned his face away.

I nodded slowly without lifting my head, to look at him. Then the room was silent. There was no sound anymore, because Will had stopped all the sounds.

We were silent, didn't speak again. Even though there were a lot of questions in my head about Will, I couldn't just pop them out. There are so many obstacles that stand in my way to ask it.

After a second, I remembered everyone in this room who still couldn't move and talk.

I looked around with my eyes moving left and right. When he saw Will, he still looked down pitifully in front of me.

"Let go of us, Will. I know you did it."

Will raised his head and looked at me "are you mad at me?"

I shook my head slowly while smiling warmly at him, "Why am I angry with you. Although I don't know, what's the real purpose of you doing all this and talking casually to me earlier. I still won't be mad at you."

The sides of his lips were lifted high, a relieved smile was visible on him. "Thank you Miss."

Then he raised one hand and snapped his fingers. At that moment everyone started to speak and could move freely again. This large room was filled with boisterous humans who were annoyed with Will. They all looked at him with lustful anger.

I turned to Peter who was still dumbfounded by Will. The look on his face made me wonder, "Peter, what's wrong?"

He ignored my question, then walked away towards Will who was still standing still with his head down.

"Rummy!" Mother exclaimed. He and the rest of my family approached, surrounded me.

"You know who he is ?" Royce suddenly became very curious about other people. Whereas before, he wasn't the type to always be curious about other people's affairs.

"Didn't you just hear yourself, about who he was and what his purpose was here." I glanced at my family one by one.

They seemed to be thinking about something. At the same time, they can't hide their excessive worry from me.

"Don't go near him!" Mother said firmly.

"He's not a good person. The proof is, he can injure other people to death because of his magic.” added Daddy sure.

“In fact, it has been 666 years since this city has been at peace. I don't want today's peace to be disturbed because of him." Reyna said as if the world was about to fall apart again.

"No! He's not as bad as you think. I'm sure he's a good person. Good witch. After all, he's just a descendant. Because in this era, the original magicians no longer exist, right?” I told them all about Will.

Mother sighed, "You're right. He's just a descendant, but how come he can use his magic to kill humans?”

"That's because the power within him is too great." One of the invited guests, Mr. Emen, answered Mother's question.

We all turned to see Mr. Emen who was walking towards us.

“Master Emen, what do you mean?” asked my father confused.

“Will, is a descendant of wizards who has powers that he can use to make his magic stronger and work properly as he wishes. Including the magic he just performed. He managed to make all of us, these tens of thousands of people speechless and just hear him speak.” Mr. Emen said while glancing at Will.

We were surprised to hear that. Then they exchanged glances and were surprised.

"You don't have to worry. In this world, there was only one in a thousand descendants of a mage like Will. He's the only one in Willis, even in this town of Mane. And... breeds like that, they're basically very good. Better than humans though. But if they feel hurt like what Will said earlier, he'll be fiercer than a werewolf and even worse than Dracula." Mr. Emen continued with a serious look at the yellow-haired youth .

Father turned to Mr. Emen, “thank you for the information, sir. Let's chat for a bit somewhere else."

Mr. Emen and Father got up from where they were standing and walked the other way. I saw Father leading the way and Mr. Emen following behind him.

Reyna glanced at Royce, "you know who he is?" he asked, glancing at Mr. Emen who had his back to us.

Royce shrugged, “I don't know. He's too old to be my acquaintance," he chuckled to himself.

Reyna sighed after shaking her head, then glanced at Mother who was still flabbergasted by Will's presence. "Who is she, ma'am? The person my father just asked to go with," he asked again.

Mother came to her senses and answered by looking at Reyna, “He's one of the nobles in Rob's district. Mr. Emen Hurt Woody. He said his son came here too, but I haven't seen him yet." Mother said while looking to the right and left.

“Rob's District? Why did you invite him?” Reyna then asked.

"Because he's a friend of your father's and also because he's a rich aristocrat," explained Mother, raising her head in an elegant manner.

I rolled my eyes seeing Mom act like that. Then I turned my gaze to Peter who had been chatting with Will. But there was something strange about the way they chatted. The look on their faces was tense and sometimes annoyed.

I glanced at my mother and my two brothers. They were looking in all directions, as if looking for someone. Then I moved my feet and immediately walked over to Peter and Will.
