Chapter 15- Already Gone, Just Too Fucking Stubborn To Admit it

Sleeping in Leo’s arms had been as peaceful as Amberleigh imagined it, at least until there came a god-awful pounding on her door at around three a.m. Amber cursed as she tore her sleep hazed eyes open and for a moment relived the night the cops raided the apartment, she and her mother lived in with one of Krystal's sleazy, druggie boyfriends. That was the night Amber had been removed from her mother’s custody along with the heroin, cocaine, and other drug paraphernalia also in her mother’s possession.

A woman cop had given little Amber a bag of chips and a soda and let her test out the sirens in her squad car though while they waited for CPS. It wasn’t the last time she would find herself in a squad car though because eleven years later, Amber got arrested for stealing alcohol and cigarettes from the liquor store. The Cobra Club’s legal team had gotten it expunged from her record though. So, her record was cleaner at least and she had left her life of crime behind
