The food is about to serve. Why are you leaving? You need to eat first," she said, still with a sweet smile on her face plastered, and it didn't go away.
"Ah, does this woman know she's hurting someone just by staying by Killian's side despite knowing she is not his mate?"
I ask my wolf."Someone who doesn't wait for their fated pair is considered an indecent woman. This woman in front of us has the nerve to get pregnant by someone who isn't even his mate. It'll make me wonder if, once we ask her if she is aware that Killian is not his mate and that there is someone destined for him instead," my wold replied.
I can feel my wolf's burning stare on Isabelle. The hatred is apparent, but she is off-limits since she is with Killian.
With forest-green eyes that match the color of her maternity dress, Isabelle is beautiful. No wonder why Killian has fallen for her.
"Of course, our mate and us didn't have the chance to meet earlier. If he did meet us first, Isabelle would have been out of the picture," my wolf protested. "And for once, don't belittle our beauty. We are more beautiful than her," she added, making me sigh.
"I'm sorry, Luna, but I got a call from my boss, and it's urgent. I needed to fill someone's shift today," I lied to her.
"Ah," she said, her face saddened, making me guilty. "I want you to taste the food I cooked for the whole pack. But, uhm, do you still live in the pack house?"
"Ugh. why does she have to be desperate to do this?" I ask my wolf, who snorts at me for an answer.
"Oh no, Luna. I never lived in the pack house," I answered her. "I'm sorry, Luna, I need to go," I added, opening the door of my car.
"Uhm, is there any way for me to give you some food?" she asked, fidgeting her fingers like she was nervous.
"Oh, for the love of Goddess! Why is she so persistent on her damn food!?" I heard my wolf huffing. I know her patience is wearing out, and the last thing she wants to do is to get away from this woman, much that I want to.
I ignored my wolf and proceeded to answer her.
"My brother is the Beta. You can hand him the food, and I'll pick it up after my shift, Luna," I answered her politely.
My instinct wanted to leave this place at once, but the idiot seemed like she wanted to talk more.
"Okay. I'll do that," Isabelle replied and beamed with a smile.
"Alright, Luna. I need to go, and also, congrats."
"Sweetheart."
The familiar voice made me turn around, and I saw it was Killian. He snakes his arm around Isabelle's swollen waist and smiles at me. I felt a familiar pang and envy for what Killaina did, but I pretended I was okay. My wolf's reaction is another story because she just sighed and curled up in a ball in the corner of my mind. Obviously, hurt.
"A-Alpha," I greeted him.
"What are you doing here? I was looking for you," Killian asks Isabelle, not even batting his eyes at me.
My whole existence has disappeared; the only one that Killian sees is Isabelle. Killian didn't even bother to answer or do something to acknowledge me when I greeted him. And it hurts. The love in each other's eyes was so apparent that I could not do anything but want to cry.
My mind doubts if Killian can leave Isabelle for me. Not even once did he look at me as he did for Isabelle. It is maybe he loves her, and I was just his mate. Isabelle has Killian's heart, and I was just his obligation. If he loves her that much, why doesn't he reject me and be done with it?
It wasn't an intention when I held my tightening chest. It hurts. It was so much for me to ask why this was happening to me. Is it too much to ask for a mate that would love me unconditionally? I never played around as most she-wolves do. I reserved myself for my mate only, but why am I in this kind of situation?
Why?
"Ah, you finally met Zander's sister. Her name is Rain. Do you two know each other already?" Killian asked Isabelle, but his eyes were on me.
I shuddered when I felt like the way he looked at me. I felt like he was throwing a dagger at me, angry and pissed. Why do I feel like I made a mistake?
I get it. Killian warned me. It is to never go near Isabelle until we become official, but why is he angry? It wasn't me who approached first. It was Isabelle.
"No, sweetheart," Isabelle replied to him. "I saw her leaving without saying goodbye, so I rushed to stop her," she added before looking at Killian.
I saw Killian's face soften at her and smiled. Both of them looked my way. The urge to get out of here rings in my ears. I felt like I should never be here.
I forcefully smiled at them as soon as Killian's face relaxed.
"I'm sorry, Alpha, Luna, I really need to go," I told them and didn't wait for their answer. I tried hard to stop myself from crying and stuttering, and the only left for me to do was to leave. I can't stand their sweetness, and Killian is not even considerate of what I might feel.
"Alright, thank you for coming, Rain," Killian replied before turning his back to me, not minding to turn his head again and see if I was okay.
I heard my wolf howls in sadness. Both of us were hurting, and the pain in my chest intensified. This day is too much for me. I wanted to get out of the pack territory and bury myself on my bed before crying my heart out. But when I got in my car, I burst into tears and screamed. This situation is too much for me.
My fingers were trembling as I tried to insert the key into the keyhole. '"Damn it! Insert!" I scream in frustration. My heart is aching, and it makes me want to lash out. My wolf's pained howls aren't helping too.I know both of us were hurting, but what else could we do? Our mate is with someone else. I thought my wolf and I could carry on his terms, but damn, it hurts. The reality is freaking hurt.As soon I managed to insert the key and start the car, I drove away from the pack house and doubted if I would see it the way I did before, back when I hadn't met my mate. This situation is frustrating, painfully frustrating. I am incomplete, and my heart is yearning for Killian. I want him. My wolf wants his wolf. We want him so much... I wiped my tears as they started to blur my sight while driving. I can't do anything to claim what is mine. Killian...Killian.I'm still holding on because I don't want to let him go. He is mine. When I arrived at my house, I noticed a moving truc
According to Zander, Killian left with Jasmine two days ago after their baby's gender reveal party. He told me that Killian probably decided to let Isabelle breathe since her birth was around the corner. Unlike humans, werewolf pregnancy usually takes six months. Isabelle is due three weeks from now. I should feel excited about her giving birth because Killian will finally be mine. The terms he gave me were that after his girlfriend's delivery, he would break up with her and throw her away from the pack. I believed him, but something behind my back was nagging me to stop assuming. It tells me that Killain's eye expresses so much love to Isabelle that breaking up with her will be impossible. I witnessed that too, but my wolf would always say that Killian would never betray us and our trust. It would have been a long time ago if he wanted to reject us. But what if-"You seem pretty distracted," my best friend said when she noticed me staring somewhere while with her. "I'm sorry. What
"Order up!" Edward yelled while ringing the bell.I laid down the rag I had been using to wipe the same spot for five minutes and went to get the food tray. It was a quiet day today. At least a couple of older people have been dining in, dedicated only to them, since morning. These fewer movements make me think about Killian. I was trying to find ways to keep myself busy, so I can't think about Killian, who has yet to contact me. This situation is painfully hurting me. Where did he go, and what is he doing? Those questions filled my head up, and I couldn't find an answer. "Here you go," I smiled, setting the plates in front of an elderly couple. "Can I get you anything else?""No, thank you, sweetie," the woman said kindly. "We have everything we need," she added.I nodded at them both before turning away to return to the counter. I sighed once I reached my destination and propped myself on my elbow. I glance around the place, seeing if anyone needs anything before realizing everyon
"Rain, I went home today. Something came up that needed my attention." It was a message from Erix. Oh, come to think of it. Erix and I agreed that we'd have a movie marathon tonight since the next day is my day off. Well, it can't be helped, Erix is an alpha, and he still has some responsibility to the pack he left behind. I sat down in the crowded club with Aira while she was chatting with a stranger. Now that my plans with Erix were canceled, I don't have any valid reason for Aira to decline her invitation. And now I'm stuck in this club. Aira is another friend, aside from being a classmate and a co-worker. And she once belonged to a pack before she decided to run away and leave in this neutral town for good. I knew Aira loved entertaining humans, but she also told me it was just for the time being until she met her mate. She doesn't want a serious relationship to avoid complications in the future. So in the meantime, she's dragging me anytime she knows I'm not doing anything. It
"K-Kilian?" I was surprised. I wasn't expecting him to come, especially during this wee hour of dawn."Why do you seem so shocked? Did you expect that I would never notice your nightlife? You even smell like those douchebags called humans. Did you have fun?" Killian asks before standing up and closing the distance between us. "It's not what you think. My friend and I had a few drinks. Nothing else," I explained to him, trying to calm him down. His eyes started to darken as a sign of his wolf taking over his body. I don't know why he was angry. I should be. Where is his heart leaving his mate behind, not even telling him where he did go? Is that how mates are supposed to be? "You are supposed to stay here and wait for me. Why don't you follow that rule?" Killian said, growling. Killian tightened his arms around the waist and was about to do something, but I placed my hands on his chest to stop him. "You know, you are blinded by anger. Let's talk about this when you calm down," I
Erix started to avoid me when he learned that my mate was Killian. I don't know if he does this on purpose, but he's avoiding me. And it all started with him learning Killian is my mate.Lately, when I went home after work, he would approach me and invite me to his house for dinner or a late-night snack. "Erix seems not at home tonight, too," my wolf commented when I glanced at Erix's home. "Seems like he is avoiding us.""I know. That's why I wanted to talk to Erix if there's something between him and Killian." "Maybe we have to wait for a chance to catch him."I woke up early so I could catch Erix during his morning run. Bingo, I saw him running all sweaty coming towards his home. I got up and ran to block his way. I need to confront him. It's now or never. "Good morning, Erix. Care to chat a bit?" I smiled at him. "Morning'' he said under his breath as he wiped his sweat using the helm of his sweatshirt. "Want to have a coffee at my house?" I purposely invited him so I could
Erix disappeared in the next few days. He told me something happened in his pack that needed his attention. And since Matthew gave me a break from working nonstop, I decided to crash at Zander's house. Killian hasn't come since Isabelle's labor, and I feel lonely. Kaila took the empty plate before me and carried it to the sink. She had been cleaning all morning, and she was not about to stop now. I felt she would have taken my plate whether I was done. You'd think she was expecting a king over for dinner with how she's acting. Not a part of this house had been untouched by her. She was washing the dishes when Zander finally made his appearance. "Sissy," he greeted me. "It's been a while," he added, walking towards Kaila and kissing her. According to Kaila, Zander had been going nonstop all day running errands for the Alpha. I was starting to get worried because he looked worn out, and the bags in his eyes were visible. Zander had to have aged five years since I last saw him. He o
I found myself inside the former Alpha's house. How did I get here? I don't exactly know. After I got myself out of my former house, two warriors had been expecting me. "Alpha Killian has instructed us to take you to his old house for interrogation," Marcus told me. He was my former classmate during high school and is now one of the warriors in our pack. I arched my brow. "What for?" I asked him. "Just follow us. Alpha Killian will attend you after the meeting," he replied. I felt annoyed but obligated. "Shift," he commanded. This man is getting on my nerves, but I don't want to create another commotion. I'm not usually like this, but I have been in a bad mood since Killian is with Isabelle again. I shifted into my wolf, not minding if I tore the dress in the process. And when we reached the house just a few meters from the pack house, Marcus gave me a pair of shorts and an oversized shirt. "Get inside and wait until Alpha's arrival," he said before closing the door. I shif
