GRAYSON
I've always had the feeling that things don’t always work the way I want them to, that my entire being was being controlled, and that I couldn't do anything about it. I hated the fact that I had to transfer from my old school to a new one. I was transferred because of an incident in which I had no involvement.
A male student attempted suicide. He didn’t succeed, but he did end up in a coma, and without a proper investigation, I was accused of pushing him. I was expelled and ordered not to leave the house or travel until it was too late.
It was later discovered that he committed the crime on his own initiative.
No matter how much they apologized, it was too late to remove the stigma from my name, so I was told to transfer schools or study outside of the country, which I initially declined but later accepted. I had to restart my life, get a new apartment, meet new people, and make new friends, which was difficult for me. Starting from scratch was difficult and I hated it.
I was so engrossed with my thoughts that I accidentally ran into someone. I opened my mouth to apologize to her but was surprised by what came out of my mouth.
“Hey! Watch where you’re going, loser,” I said as I walked past her without looking back to see if she was okay. I knew I’d made a mistake, but why should I care about a weakling like her who couldn’t even endure a small bump, and what was she thinking not to avoid me when I was approaching? Also, what the hell was that expression on her face when she fell? Was she trying to appear pitiful?
She was a werewolf, and one fall would not kill her. She was a weakling, and a weakling like her would be entertainment for me during my stay here unless he decides to change everything again.
I had registered for my classes in right on time for the first class, but I didn’t feel like going. Starting over meant enrolling as a freshman, attending the same classes, and learning the same things I had previously learned. I wasn’t in the mood to take those classes again. I decided to walk to a nearby cafe.
“Welcome to Delight Cafe. May I take your order, Sir?” A waitress came over as soon as I sat in a chair near the window.
“Can I get warm blood? Normal temperature.”
“Yes sir, warm blood coming right away,” she said as she wrote my order on her pad and walked away.
I looked out the window and kept thinking about why I quit, why my father had to leave, and why I had accepted. If I had defied his orders and decided to stay, he would have erased all memories by killing everyone who was involved in some way.
I didn’t want to be the cause of a bloodbath. I was repulsed by the sight of blood. I was sick of seeing human and werewolf blood and watching vampires burn to ashes. I had to go through all of that because I was told it would help me get stronger, but it only made me sick and tired.
“Here's your order, sir,” the waitress said, breaking my train of thought.
“Thank you,” I said before sipping from the warm blood. I had almost forgotten everything I had planned when the alarm jolted me to the fact that I was late for school. I wasn’t interested in the classes, but I was interested in the students and seeing who I could make friends with to help me set up my new apartment and settle into this new town called Roseville.
I arrived at class just in time for the next class, and luckily for me, the teacher wasn’t yet there. I quickly adjusted myself and raised my head to check my surroundings and where I would sit when my gaze met hers. Those blue eyes were looking back at me. She had the same expression on her face as when I ran into her. Those eyes were sad, but they were also intriguing. I was drawn in by those eyes. Before I could assess her further, she averted her gaze and began conversing with her friends.
I found her interesting and entertaining to mess with, and I needed to get close to her to do so. I smiled as I put my headphones in my ear and walked to the far end of the class. I chose to listen to my favorite song, ‘Inception’, by the Korean band Ateez. Someone slammed their hands on my table just as it was about to get to my favorite part of the song. I smiled as I detected her pheromones. I had expected to be the one to make the first move, but seeing her do it first made me smile.
‘This will be fun,’ I thought to myself as I took off my headphones and stood up to face her.
“Do you remember me?” She questioned. “From earlier today in the hallway?”
Her angry eyes piqued my interest, and I wanted to see more. I was curious about what else she could do and what she was made of. The best way to achieve this was to aggravate her.
“I’m sorry, but I don’t know who you are. Do I have to remember everyone I met in the hallway today? If you expect me to, you must be a clown,” I said with a smile on my face.
“You asshole! You bumped into me earlier without apologizing, and then you dared to insult me and lie about it," she said as she gripped my neck.
I couldn’t stop smiling because she fascinated me. This was the type of girl who piqued my interest, not the weaklings who surrounded me. I needed a challenge, and it appeared she would be the one to provide it.
“What’s so funny?” she asked.
“That's enough, Chloe. The lecturer will arrive any minute now, and you don’t want to get in trouble on your first day of school. After all, he’s not worth getting into trouble over. He's obviously trouble, so please stop,” said the blonde girl behind her.
“Listen to that little birdie over there.” My eyes turned from brown to red this time. Her anger excited me, and I wanted to devour her.
The entire class had gathered around to watch the event unfold in front of them; some had even brought out their phones to record and take pictures of us.
“Enough, Chloe. If a lecturer walks in, you will be held responsible. Your hands are around his neck, and his hands are by his sides. What happened in the hallway was between the two of you. No lecturers were present, and no one will believe you. So stop it right now,” the guy next to her said.
With that, she removed her hands from my neck and clothes before returning to her seat, murmuring. Because the show was now over, the other students did the same. Before sitting in my chair, I adjusted my shirt and rested my hand on my chin. As I stared at her, I laughed.
“Chloe, Chloe, Chloe. What a lovely name for someone who will make my stay worthwhile. As long as I’m here, I’m going to make her miserable. This will be fun.”
“LET THE FUN BEGIN.”
CHLOEThis was not how I had wanted the confrontation to play out. I wanted to meet with him and ask for an apology. That was my intention, but he had decided to deliberately provoke me and piss me by pretending he hadn’t done anything to me and didn’t recognize me.I would have gotten into trouble if it hadn’t been for my friends, all because of someone who was not worth it. My perfect reputation as the perfect girl was ruined by him, and now I guess the entire college will remember me as someone who was always picking fights. My quiet life was ruined, as was my intention to leave college as a nobody. With this single act, I’ve made myself popular.“Fvck!! I hate him so much that if you hadn’t intervened, I would have punched him in the face. I wanted to punch him in the face because he’s fvcking annoying!” I said it loud enough so that only my friends could hear me.“And then what? Get yourself punished. You think this is a top-tier college where you can get away with anything? No,
GRAYSONSomething about her fascinated me and drew me in. I wanted to learn more about her, spend some quality time with her, and still tease her. I couldn’t concentrate on what was being taught in the class at that moment because my entire attention was on her and her alone. I observed how she smiled, laughed, and wrote notes in her notebook while maintaining a serious expression.I’m not sure how time flew by, but the sound of the bell jolted me, and I saw everyone else leave the classroom except her. She remained preoccupied with what she was writing in her notebook. Naturally, I was not the type to wait for others to leave before leaving the classroom, but I had found something that would keep me occupied. It was all her; her pheromones excited me, and I wanted to learn more about her, what she did, how she lived, what she did for fun, in short, everything about her.I wanted to know everything while still teasing her as much as possible. I suppose teasing her would bring her clos
KING THEODORE“My Lord, there is a prophecy, and this time it is the worst that we can imagine,” said Tim, the king’s favorite man.“What happened this time, and what is the prophecy?” I asked and waited for Tim to reveal the prophecy.“The child of the prophecy that would bring your reign to an end is still alive and of age…” Tim responded, and I screamed. This was not possible. I’d made sure I’d killed everyone in the Pack and that not a single soul remained alive. So, how did the prophecy child escape the massacre? It was not meant to be, it was impossible.I had been in a meeting with the leaders of my Pack when the witch delivered the scroll to me. She had read it aloud for everyone to hear.‘A child is born into the werewolf clan, a hybrid who will bring light and hope to the world. He would be known as the world’s hero, and he would be the one to put an end to the vampire king’s reign, thereby bringing peace to the world.’I recalled being filled with rage and declaring war aft
“Princess, why do you always sit and stare at the ceiling when you wake up? Is there something bothering you, my love?” Damien asked as he sat next to me on the bed, “A penny for thoughts, please, because I'm worried about you.”“Nothing bothers me, dad. I was just thinking about my life and how grateful I am,” I replied.“So, what are you grateful for?” he asked, and I took a deep breath before looking him in the eyes.“I’m just grateful for how my life has turned out thanks to meeting you, Mum, and my amazing friends. I kept wondering what my life would have been like without you all. I would have been miserable and helpless, if not dead. Thank you, dad, I love you,” I said.I was lying to him yet again. The truth was that I had the same nightmare about my parents dying, but this time it was different because the vampire king was there and he was the one doing the killing, and this time he smiled at me as he approached me, dragging the bloodied sword on the ground. I shivered in fea
CHLOEThe drive to school was quiet. Damien didn’t ask what was wrong or why I wasn’t resting as much as I should have; instead, he remained silent, clearly not wanting to bother me or intrude on my personal space. I felt bad for keeping things from him. I knew he worried about me right from when I was growing up.I wasn’t allowed to do things that kids my age did. I wasn’t allowed to leave the house; I had to stay close by so they could keep an eye on me. I thought they were protecting me at first because of what had happened in the past, but even now they kept their eyes on me as if I were still a child; I was twenty-one years old but was still treated as if I were an eight-year-old child. It made me suspicious. I began questioning their every move regarding my decisions, and each time I asked both of them, they always gave me the same answer, as if it were scripted.“The world isn’t as peaceful as it once was. We have no idea when the vampire king will strike again. We only have yo
CHLOE“Hello, mates. My name is Grayson Smith, and I’m a member of the group.”“Fuck!!” Before I could stop myself, the words were already out of my mouth. This was not what I wanted. It was wrong having him as a groupmate. Was the universe pulling a fast one on me? The universe already knows I don’t like vampires, especially ones like him, who don’t know how to apologize when they are wrong. He’s bad news, and he’s going to slow down our work, causing us to fall behind schedule. Then he dared to bring a blonde who wasn’t ready to let go of him. The sight of them disgusted me, and I demanded that they leave the group or I would have to leave. In any case, I couldn’t stand him. “What strings did you pull to get yourself into my group? Isn’t it bad enough that you’re already getting on my nerves, and now you’ve brought your Bambi here to annoy and slow us down?” I slammed my fist against the desk.“Take it easy, tiger,” Axel said, trying to calm the situation.“It’s Scarlett, and why s
CHLOEIt’s been three days, and the project is coming along nicely. I expected it to be difficult having both of them around, but Grayson had given me the space I needed, probably because he knew his presence was making me uncomfortable.I was relieved he wasn’t coming around too frequently, only when he needed to submit the ones he'd written to Axel, who would then forward it to the group. The only problem was Bambi. She kept putting off the work and asking everyone to help her. It was exhausting, but Diego was willing to help her while all she did was make a fool of herself around Grayson.I sighed and leaned against my locker. I was completely exhausted. Being a leader was not an easy task. I had to put every piece of work on the slide that would be presented on Monday, and some work was still incomplete.“This is going to be an exhausting day for me,” I said to no one as I opened my locker to get my books for today’s classes.I hadn’t been able to sleep all night. I had been up la
GRAYSONI should be on my way home to meet with my father to report on my school activities and how seriously I’m taking my schoolwork to avoid being watched by him or being told to return home and relocate to another city. I didn’t want to be so far away from home. I wanted to be close by, to feel the presence of mother nature.Yes, I was supposed to go home to my father and report to him, but I found myself back in her room. This was the eighth time I’d done this, wandering around and ending up in her room, but today her room was empty and the smell of her shampoo lingered, indicating that it hadn’t been long since she left. Her pheromones and everything about her aroused me. This shouldn’t be happening to me, and I shouldn’t feel this way about her.I had been watching her every move and knew everything she did, her daily routine, where she went after school if her father didn't pick her up, what time she finished her assignment, what time she was on her phone, and when she went t
