Pietro stopped as we entered the place. He looked at me and there’s longing in how he looked at me. “Like what you see? It’s only available here.” he asked me.
This place exists in the building? But how? It’s too far-fetched. It was like another world inside a building, in an urban area.
Emerald fields that stretches like forever, the sun shines brightly and warm, as if someone is hugging and kissing your bare skin, different flowers are covering some of the parts of this world; roses, chrysanthemum, orchids that hang themselves on tree trunks, dandelion, tulips, you name it.
There’s also fruit bearing trees; apples, bananas, star apples, mangoes, almost everything’s here; birds of paradise, primates, insects, mammals and so on.
It was too good to be true.
My eyes are wandering around, still in shocked of the place I’m seeing. Am I dreaming?
I looked at Pietro and asked him, “Where are we?”
He didn’t respond, he stare out at the vast greenery.
It seems that he was looking for something or someone.
“They’re here.” he calmly said while staring from nowhere. As they walked closer, my heart skipped a beat.
I saw them, especially the one at the right.
Lilac hair, burgundy eyes, white skin, especially that scar on that collar bone.
She smiled at me, my eyes were nailed to her.
She brushed my hair, “It’s good to see you, Sam.”
That sweet, gentle voice I cannot forget that. I felt the sun burning my cheeks, my eyes that still looking at her were now blurry, the stream of tears flowed like forever.
She hugged me, “Now, now Samuel. I know it’s been a century… I can answer your questions tomorrow.”
My voice seems stolen. I cannot speak nor talk to her. I was still in shock.
Natasha was my neighbor back when I was still a kid. She was always kind to me. She was one of my special friend, she always has a place in my heart. My feelings towards her wasn't like that of Leana.
The last time I saw her was in my mom’s burial, the last time I saw her that she doesn’t have that vivid lilac hair.
Can she be experiencing what I am enduring now? I have so many questions to her. She's older than me... She may have the answers to my questions.
Not far from our place, I heard whines, it peeks out from her legs.
I looked at the collie beside her. “Whitney!” was the first word that burst out from my mouth after they arrived. Though I am hoarse, I managed to call her.
Her whines disappears as she runs to me, tail’s wagging and she’s jumping. Whitney's very happy so am I.
I hugged her tight and she happily wagged her tail, she licked my face. It been days since I last saw her. Her body looks the same. She was well taken care of. Her eyes are more vivid than before.
“I took good care of her, sorry if I somehow took over your kitchen.” her face is still angelic, she’s at her thousands but when a human looks at her, she looks like she’s in her teens.
I noticed Pietro being impatient, and a bit annoyed, I can hear him tapping his foot on the concrete part of the forest.
He closed his eyes, arms crossed and from the looks of his face, he’s bored and irritated.
“Natasha, quit blabbering.” Pietro commanded. I stood up as Whitney sat beside me.
It seems Pietro was their alpha, she seems scared of him when he said those words.
He looked at me, straight face and said, “So, you two have met each other.” he crossed his arms and leaned his back against a tree trunk.
“How?”
He whistled like a canary. He closed his eyes, as if he was thinking.
Natasha looked at him anxiously, “I-I’m sorry, Sam…” she bowed her head and stole a glance at Pietro.
He didn’t even looked at her. He opened his eyes, straighten his shirt , and stood up. He claps his hand once and at that, one by one, hybrids show themselves. I stepped back, Pietro held my back and whispered, “Remember what I told you?”
It rewinds in my memory:
When we got there, stay calm. They might take you as an opponent.
Hybrids… half human, half immortal, it doesn’t matter who’s the human what matters most were who were the immortals.
Pietro walked to the hybrids, there’s something wrong on how he smiled, it’s sending chills down my spine.
I brushed Whitney’s fur, I can hear her low growls.
He went to the right... TL of hybrids and looked at me, and he opened his arms wide, with a sinister smile he spoke
“Welcome , Samuel. We’re the Colossal. Half human half immortal."
He places his hands on his waist , that sinister smile never leaves his lips. He continued," Whitney is also a colossal, you being her parent”
All eyes were on me… Whitney stood up, still with those low growling.
Pietro looked at her, “Calm down, missy. Were allies.”
I felt a sudden turn of tables, IT’S A TRAP!
Whitney never listened to him, her growling grew louder, something's wrong with her.Her fur suddenly changed, I saw Pietro stepped back. I can sensed their fear; fear of the unknown. Her fangs and claws grew, her size was that like of a wolf... I never see one transform, except today, is this the effect of an immortal to a hybrid?"Retreat, Colossal" Pietro shouted. One by one they ran away, screaming. Pietro and Natasha stood still there, but I can see that they, too were scared.Without a second thought, Whitney pounced at Pietro. He fell hard on the ground, Natasha was shaking.Whitney with her sharp teeth, was about to scourge him when Natasha screamed, "Whitney, don't!"Her tears flowed down as she continuously plead.I pity them."Whitney stop it. Calm down." I told herI faint light glowed and she returned being a coll
I can vomit anytime because of the stench that comes from the outside. When I turn around, the man that has taught me about my existence stands there. He's worn out and crippling."Frederick, are you okay?" it seems mom has sensed him."I just need to take a bath" he repliedHe tapped my shoulder to greet me, he has changed. There was complete silence in the shack. The stench has disappeared, a tasty smell of dinner was tingling my nose.Whitney walked to the kitchen and happily wags her tail. My parents saw her, it seems they enjoy each other's company.I stood up and joined them, "Father, what happened to you out there?"His forehead wrinkled, as his eyebrows furrowed too, "Who are you?"It seems my appearance changed a lot, especially the different hair color I have."I'm Samuel, father. Did you forget
I woke a but earlier, I prepared a healthy breakfast so we could dig in.It was already 8 o'clock but they're still asleep. So, I decided to eat breakfast with Whitney. I gave her the meat in my plate, I had all the greens.I cleaned the shack. The clock strikes ten and the door of their room opened. Father and mother held each other, he was carrying mom like a newly wed couple. But I saw something different, mom's eyes were bleeding, but father was not worried, "Father, why does m--" before I end my queries he hushed me."She's having a vision. Her life is at stake if these visions continue to show"I tried not to tear up. he placed her down on the couch and pulled me to the dining area."Later we'll meet the hybrids. She'll be here. I heard that they have captured Isabella.""That's good news , that she's alive. The bad news is how they treat her."
I woke up at the sun rays hitting my face. I tried to move my hand to block the rays. I can't feel my body, it was numb, my mind was empty.I opened my eyes and I saw the sky. It was more blue in this time. The clouds were serene and everything seems peaceful. The soft breeze made me feel the pain of my skin. It’s still burnt. Out of the blue, a girl popped out, she was blond with cerulean eyes. She’s looking at me with curiousity on her face."Hey, mister. Why are you sleeping on the ground?"She has a very jolly voice, I felt a sting on my arm. Is she poking me?"Pokey. Mister are you impaired?" She kept poking me."Please, missy don't poke me." I told her in a very weak voice."Do you want me to help you stand up?" I think she was holding my hand.I screamed, I think my arm's gonna break.Sudde
She cautiously looked around, she let go of my arm and looked at me. She hush me and mouthed, “Be quiet.”I nodded in response. She leaned on the wall, crossed her arms as she closes her eyes.“You said you were Samuel...” she started and opened her eyes, looking straight to my eyes.“Yes. I was wondering why you seems scared, a moment ago you also pleaded that I must not hurt Talia. Did someone came before me?”Seems her face lost all its color, I immediately noticed it, “Barbara, are you okay?”She nodded.“My ancestors taught us how to distinguish mortal to immortals. My father had an immortal uncle...”“How did he know that he was a immortal?”She looked at the dining area before she replied, “Talia... Talia’s blood was the reason.”It sent shivers down my spine... The girl who saved me might be the reason of my death.Maybe that’s why father said
I lay beside Barbara and looked at her. She’s a mortal, and I am not. Father will be angry if I mingled with a mortal’s life, again. I slid my fingers on her angelic face.I remembered the notebook she gave me. I reached out to my pants which was not that far away from the bed. I held the notebook, I leaned on the headboard and comfortably sat on the bed. I opened the notebook and read it.August, 1605We never mentioned that would hurt the ties between Talia and Frederick. Talia was only five months when Frederick gave her to me. He told me that Talia was extraordinary, neither a mortal or immortal. I laughed first and didn't believe his words. I was only fifteen when Frederick handed her to me.I was an orphan, well both me and Talia now. He won’t budge and spill any more information about Talia. The only thing he spilled was her birthday. He
She was just lying down on her bed, but she’s awake already. She noticed me and smiled. She just tapped the space beside her and I followed. I sat beside her and she slowly sat too.She leaned on mly shoulder and held my hand. She rose her head and a shocked look was painted on her face. She went pale and I remembered father taught her to distinguished a mortal from the others.I saw tears forming in her eyes.“Why Sam?” she asked. Her voice was trembling as she stare at me.I bowed my head down and I didn’t know where to start, or how to explain myself to her.Seems the night became longer than before. She gazed at me while hee tears came rushing down her cheeks. I can't help to see how she looks dejected."I am sorry, Barbara. I am sorry if I haven't told you what I
I saw a flock of geese, and a idea came to my mind. It was a sunny spring here and it’s a good day to let the animals to graze freely. Cows, sheep, donkeys, geese, chickens, name it almost every farm animals were everywhere.I shake every dust and hay on my clothes. As I went outside, I saw Barbara, she’s feeding the chickens. My heart raced like hell, my tears started to flow again.I was affected by every word she spoke yesternight. It echoed in my mind, these pain is unbearable. I can handle the pain when I travelled through time but this one, it feels like it has tripled.“We must stop these relationship, if we do have. I need you to get out of this house. You’re just a stranger to us.”I held my chest, as I kept wiping my tears. I gathered all my strength to walked outside. I noticed her staring to me then turned her gaze away.
