14. The Farewell

Two days seemed like nothing to Selene, who felt the passing hours like a guillotine over her neck; however, contrary to everything she thought the trip preparation would be, she didn't have to take care of anything. The Queen had requested her presence in her room and after a long conversation, in which she expressed everything she expected from this trip, Selene felt a bit more encouraged and less worried.

The Queen only expected her name to be known throughout the kingdom, to mingle with the subjects of the Crown, and to show that confidence that the people expected from their rulers. Selene had been prepared for that, without her knowing it, her entire life had been focused on that moment.
