It’s not trust. It’s me knowing I can get away with calling a god a jackass.

“Umm . . . Would you like to go shopping now, Luna?” Courtney asked politely.

I looked down at the card. A devious expression made its way to my face.

“Awww, I recognize that look on her face. My little sister gets that when she takes my card and shops as revenge,” Johnson said painfully.

I looked up at the guards in front of me, not at all ashamed or embarrassed at the creepy smile on my face.

“I usually don’t like spending people’s money, but who am I to deny something that was given to me?” I said.

“Why do I sense we’re going to die today?” Mila whispered.

“Because we probably are,” Johnson replied dryly.

I laughed. Zaliver had made a mistake.

He just placed my freedom in my hands.
