Chapter Sixty Nine

Their deep voices sent a chill down the spines of everyone who heard it was so deeply poignant and moving that even the most powerful of men acknowledged their insignificance when faced with the omnipotent presence of God.

They said together as the prayer came to an end and the Consultant removed the life support tube from Tash’s throat, the whole world seemed to stop as everyone waited.

Romero prayed silently,

Luca begged in his head and after what seemed like an eternity to both men God finally answered their prayers, Tash shuddered and took a deep breath then continued to breathe on her own. The Priest stepped back from the bed and the Consultant looked across at Romero

‘Well Sir, it would seem your young lady is not quite ready to leave you just yet. She’s a lot stronger than we all thought.’
