Alexander POV;I rushed to the hall when the guards told me that my uncle, Marcus, had arrived. Entering the room, I couldn’t help but notice how old my uncle looked like compared to how he looked only a year ago. He aged so quickly. His wrinkles were more defined, and his back arched more. Yet, he kept his light brown hair well-dressed, and his clear green eyes kept their glance. Green eyes were a family trait. All males in my bloodline had green eyes. "I missed you so much, it feels like ages since I saw you last time," I said hugging him. "I missed you too, nephew," he replied while hugging me back. "Tell me why you summoned me by Alpha order, I am a little worried and you know I don't like being at the pack house," he said looking at me. I knew he didn't like being her. That was why I never insisted he would come. I had to summon him by alpha order when he declined Robert's call several times. I went to my liquor fridge and poured whiskey into two glasses. I gave one to my uncl
River POV; ‘I am going to burn this place down to the ground when I get out of here’ was the only sentence that kept repeating in my mind. Being in a dungeon, dominated by men, and treated like a slave drove me up the wall. I was furious and could literally kill them all if I got the chance. A few hours went by. I think it was about midnight when I heard someone opening the door. First, I saw Stephan coming in followed by Robert. They pulled a chair each and sat down facing me. "Do you think it's true?" Stephan asks Robert. "Well, I hope so! I have absolutely no desire to die now, I am too young and handsome to die," Robert said with a grin on his face. Minutes after, an old man entered the room. He looked at me and smiled. This doesn't make any sense. Why are they gathered here and surprisedly in a good mood? Are they going to eat me, I wonder. Alex entered the room lastly looking at me. The man looked so delicious I could devour him, but he was unfortunately my captor,
Alexander POV;My men locked me in my wolf form in my bedroom since last night. I awoke to find myself naked on the floor and exhausted. Atlas was nowhere calm yesterday. All he wanted was to go back to his mate in the dungeons. I kept fighting him over power the whole night until both of us lost to sleep. I pulled on my robe before heading for the conference room where I felt Robert calling me from through the sound wave recognition. I held the handle of the conference room door, but I stopped before twisting it when I felt that many of the pack members were inside. I could feel all of them through the sound waves recognition. I tied my robe and secured the tie before twisting the handle and stepping inside. Once inside, I saw that the highest ranks of the pack members were inside standing around the huge oval table at the center of the room. All were cheering, some even started congratulating me and others hugged me. Stephan noticed my confused face and said "we are proud of you b
Alexander POV; By the next morning, almost twenty hours after my men moved River to the western bedroom, I started to worry about her. She was too quiet for being River. She nearly destroyed the painting of the walls the other day when she fought Robert using only her voice. I swear that I could see my dear walls getting cracked under the impact of her voice cussing at Robert. I learned that she was not a quiet person at all. I figured out she might be asleep, but 18 hours were too much, she can't be that comfortable, right? I decided to go check on her only to stop outside her door questioning whether to talk to her or not. Atlas didn't want me to reject her. She was his mate after all, a much-needed one for that matter. After everything that was happening and my deteriorating status, I knew that I was running out of time but how do I explain a mate bond to a human? Even I didn't believe in it until two days ago. I started questioning if I really wanted to reject her. It wasn't ju
Alexander POV; River was leading the way to the main quarter on the first floor with the help of my men's directions. She walked with her head high and a stable heart rate which was interesting considering that she was a prisoner surrounded by at least ten strangers. Her curly hair covered all the way down her back. Jeans suited her well and framed her lower body hugging her curves. A few steps from the dining table, she stumbled on the edge of the carpet. Without thinking, I grabbed her arm pulling her to me which prevented her from falling. She smashed into my chest and my manhood which embarrassed me because I couldn't control my 'excitement'. My body reacted to her closeness and the bond. Just to make it worse, she pulled herself away from me slowly and I could swear she did it deliberately if I didn't know she hated me. She maybe did not notice what her bum smashed into, I thought. Yet she let me know that she knew where her bum hit when she glanced down at my crotch before sh
River POV;Alexander puts me down and turns around hot on his heels to the door of the basement that leads inside the house. When I am certain he has climbed all the stairs and I hear the door shut closed, I look around me and find myself alone in the basement. I also remember that I never heard the side door leading to the garden gets locked. Finally, this was my chance to run away. I had no intentions of remaining in this dungeon nor at this house with crazy people who talked about werewolves and other bullshit. I could tell people were running upstairs in distress and heavy movements could be heard through the walls. Then the sound of men arguing loudly came to me through the walls, but I couldn't understand what they were talking about. Also, I didn't care to listen. For all I care they can kill each other, it really won’t bother me. All I want is to get out of here and get my freedom back. Carefully and slowly, I approached the side door walking through the dark tight tunnel.
Alexander POV;Raphael and some of his vampires walked through the driveway surrounded by my men. Raphael and his vamps were our allies. They may have acted like friends sometimes, but I see them only as allies. He was an ancient vampire, at least five hundred years old. Vampires were immortal. Their power increases the older they get. They became faster and stronger with age, but their bloodlust increased as well. They were banned to walk the earth under the sunlight unless they had sunlight items such as necklaces or rings made by witches to protect them from sunlight. The reason for their curse was feeding on human blood. Raphael made a deal with my great-grandfather to be his ally in exchange for a piece of the country. The deal was made to prevent a potential war between our kinds. Raphael's vampires controlled the western area, making up approximately ten percent of our land. By controlling this land, he also controls our western borders. We live in symbiosis, but vampires and
Alexander POV;”River is missing, search everywhere," I mind-link all the guards and the servants at the house and outside. "Robert, we have to find her before Raphael tracks down her blood!” I told Robert while walking to the side door. His scent was leading me there. She must have used this door. My suspension was confirmed when I saw her tracks in the snow. It was freezing cold even for a werewolf. Great, if Raphael doesn't kill her, the cold definitely will. "There is no way she can survive in this cold for long," I told Robert while both of us followed her tracks to the tree line just behind the house where her tracks died out because of snow. Her scent was strong though meaning she was here just now. Robert and I took off following her scent. Both shifting mid-run. Her scent leading us to a small residential area. It was still strong meaning she either was just here or was stressed, probably running and sweating. And I think it's the latter. Damn, the girl is fast. How she made
